S..I..S..T..E..R..S! Nothing like them. My 3 sisters and I live within 2-3 miles of each other. When we're together we have as much fun and silliness as you guys. Watching all of you has been fun.
We have a DG on every corner. Black eye peas a southern staple and a New Years Day part of our meal for luck AND YOU TWO TICKLE ME TAKING THINGS FROM EACH OTHERS HANDS😂😂😂
Love black eyed peas topped with onions and served with cornbread!!!! Midwestern girl!!! Happy you have a new dollar general!!! It will be a life saver for you!! Very funny video!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I live in Tennessee and We eat Blackeyed Peas and a Purple Hull Peas. During the Civil wars the Yankees didn't know about blackeyed peas so the Southerns told the they gre we them to feed their animals so then the Yankees wouldn't eat them and the Southerns didn't starve,😊
Okay, Angie and Karolyn. Southern girl here-North Carolina specifically. The brand you held up, Margaret Holmes, has the best canned veges. You likely cannot make better black eyed peas than those. They have a meaty, almost smoky taste. Coupled with rice and hot sauce, it’s called Hopping John, a traditional New Years dish. For other days of the year, ditch the rice and make a big pan of cornbread-not that Jiffy Mix crap-but use a good cornmeal, and do not add sugar to the mix. Sugar in cornbread is an anathema. There will be plenty of juice in the can of peas. Put plenty of that on the plate with the peas. Crumble pieces of the cornbread in that broth, let it soak, and you will think you died and went to heaven. Yum yum.
I'm really going to miss Karolyn with you on your videos! It's been so much fun! Looking forward to seeing her again on the cruise! ❤your Ohio friend ❤
Hi Angela & Karolyn:). It’s supposed to be a tradition to eat black eyed peas, collard greens and ham on New Year’s Day so that all good things will come ur way in the New Year:). Glad you finally got a DG-we have one everywhere you look! They are noted for not charging you what the sign says in many instances here in FL. Can’t wait to see what the UPS brought! Enjoy ur snacks!👍👍😋🤗😊🩷🙏
I’m a Southern Girl and was raised on Blackeyed Peas..and it was a Tradition to have them on New Years Day..with Collards or Turnip Greens and Cornbread! Did same raising my Children!
@@materialmom-hz3wj On New Year’s Day my youngest son cooks several meals of corned beef Brisket, (I just now remembered it wasn’t ham), black eyed peas and collard greens. Then he delivers the meals to all his friends and me and his Dad and says hurry up and eat it before 12:00 am-lol! Good luck tradition for a great New Year:) Corned Beef and cabbage with carrots on St. Patrick’s Day ☘️
My mom is from Tennessee so I grew up eating black eyed peas! The best ever. I also cut up a raw onion for toppings on the peas. Growing up I preferred treat over spam (less salt) but haven’t had it in my older years ;) Love the videos of you two together. Btw the inmates make “hootch”
We have Dollar General, Dollar Tree and we had a Family Dollar, here In Madison Ohio! Dollar Tree which they raised it to $1.25, and now the store is called Dollar Tree plus! Items for $5.00 and some up to $10.00! I think Family Dollar went out of business! Every time I go into one of these stores I promise myself not to spend too much! lol! And I end up buying stuff that “I need” because it’s so cheap!
Angela, I know I’m jumping the gun but are you gonna show us how to pack what you are taking. And will you be only taking one suitcase or more?❤ We were raised on black-eyed beans, But we always cook them. We never bought them in a can.
Hi Angela I am from Hobart Tasmania Australia. I am wondering if you can send me a copy of the drug letter you read on 1 of your talks.i would much appreciate if you could please thank you xx
