For how long? Drones exist now because they are cheap, which means they are fragile and lack defenses. The counter to drones will be easy for high tech nations. There will indeed be a drones arms race, but conventional drones are easily detected. A.I. controlled defenses would likely be lasers. This means battery hybrid vehicles which this one already is (I'd assume it would need further build to spec features) so the batteries could be recharged for laser use. The benefit of drones is that they are cheap and easily deployed. The downfall to drones are they are cheap and low tech, and will be easily countered low cost measures once implemented. There is an issue with this demo. The vehicles are designed for conventional ground operations, but this could easily be converted to mobile anti-drone defense.
@@cstgraphpads2091 The drones carry a couple small bombs which are dropped on and easily penetrate through the thinner armor on tanks! The drone is then reused and sent back to do it over and over again. Low prices drones kill multi million dollar tanks! Even tanks with "self defense" systems only have a very limited amount of "self defense" rounds they can fire. And all the drone operators have to do is drop more shells than the tank has to try to defend itself. Laser systems dont work on drones that reflect the lasers. The mentality of building expensive behemoths belongs to the past century. Warfare has move way past that outdated mentality.
@@Demane69 Wars are NOT won by spending huge amounts on making expensive targets! For example, a Russian tank that costs $5 million can be taken out by a $100 shell dropped from a $1000 drone. You can deploy roughly 5000 drones for the price of one tank! NO tank...no matter how good it's defenses can defend itself from 5000 drones. 99% of the drones will survive the tanks defenses intact to repeat the cycle and wipe out thousands of tanks. The age of the tank or other armored vehicles being "supreme" is over. It has gone the way of the dinosaurs like the Maginou line in France. Billions spent on a huge "impenetrable" fortress line that was easily made useless by tanks ( like today's drones) being more manuverable, cheaper, and more numerous...just did an end run around it. Lasers require a large amount of power to be effective. That requires a significant size machine. A laser defense system will NOT take out all 5000 drones in a drone swarm that blocks out the sun! It only takes one hit to take out the vehicle. Frequency jamming is a joke. Drones can easily be made rf proof and have A.I targeting and need NO two way communication with an operator. Only a fool spends money on fighting today's war with technology and tactics from the last century. The wise person uses technology and tactics from the NEXT century.
Impressive demonstration but probably not mobile enough to keep up with infantry in rough country. Give them small, quiet camera drones so they can see what they're up against and data links to call in precision whupass when they need it.
I was actually thinking of a tethered drone that could rise off the top of the mast to peak around and over. Like climbing a tree. Would be nice to see in dark fog smoke thermal et al Seems best use would be drop or move out support. Then fall back to.
Agree, I'm subbed to all of the Dark Channels, If you didn't know, the other channels are, Dark Footage, Dark Skys, Dark Seas, Dark -5, all of them are very Interesting.
Seems like it would be best used in semi-controlled urban environments. Maybe in open terrain, but that thing has a HUGE signature which would be a problem. I just don't see it as something to be used day-to-day like they are trying to show.
No, because the last thing a squad need is more equipment than they can carry, a unit too big to traverse certain areas, another vehicle to maintain, a constant source of RF emissions on top of their exact location, a platform with a bigass weapon on top requiring a supply of specialty munitions, and a soft target the size of a shed following them around that can be *completely* disabled by electronic warfare or a 1 watt laser. Like so many other conceptual pieces of shit, it's a cooperate circlejerk making something really shiny that grabs lots of attention foaming at the mouth to get in on those fat defense budget contracts. Looks fun on paper, absolutely worthless in practice.

@@locknload9143 It's a great piece of kit until it gets caught up in the first set of overgrown foliage when your squad has to traverse a draw. keep this kit to the roads... it has no place being integrated into the dismounted infantry unit.
it's a wheeled version of the boston dynamics robo-dog, great idea and tech, but they keep advertising it to SOF when it fits more with regular infantry. Having a bunch of ISR, firepower, and cargo carry itself along with a regular patrol would be great, you'd probably want two so one could stay and fight and the other shuttle wounded back to base and ammo/food/water/meds to the front. But that's means each patrol costs 10x its price?. But sending one of these on a blind hike through the woods with some sneaky people seems like a great way for those people to get this thing stuck and it to become a liability. Interesting tech but needs some tweaks
Yeah though it does raise the question of how vulnerable the bot is to attack by the opfor, because the cargo bot is a prime target if its being used as a pack mule.
Tell me that’s not the same rover in stargate the MALP. That show was from the 90s glad to see technology filtering down. Hopefully actual star-gates are real too.
Everything is hindered by land mines/IEDs. I don't think land mines will be a problem considering it's pacing soldiers who are boots on the ground. These vehicles are probably meant to be deployed to areas that are isolated and too rough for wheeled or tracked vehicles, so I don't think land mines will be a big threat. I imagine they will have some sort of combat engineer/EOD/sapper variant for those threats.
They dont show you how it limits the terrain the team can move on, gets stuck in dense trees and cant handle heavy rocky terrain without high centering or lacking the clearance. Also how is this better then just brining a modern AFV with an active protection system?
Tbh that drone vehicle isn't really new, the us had a very similar vehicle wich also featured in a game stemming from the xbox 360 and playstation 3 era: the game homefront, the vehicle i am talking about is name in that game as the goliath. Wich was also made to carry cargo and was able to have at least a auto canon. Thus the concept is nothing really new...
How loud is it? If it needs to run an ICE motor to recharge batteries, that would be somewhat ok, if it has a power supply allowing a silent run option. If it only has an ICE motor, then that would be problematic for SOF soldiers.
ICE is its primary power, and it can run hours on batteries-only. Like the difference between soldiers running into a launching place, then crawling sneakily to the target.
Probably no doubt no different to any tank. But at least, oh wait. It wont matter as the people nearby will also be dead. Then what? This keeps killing?😂
the main thing i can think of is 6 guys hiding out in the woods or a building with this thing going please dont see me. the bigger issue when things go south the gear you would normally have on you is strapped to this thing, its not like it can throw you a mag or prep a charge/ grenade or get the next mg belt ready let alone any first aid. in the rear or secured locations i think it will be awesome just not in the front or the dark front, to many unknowns
The soldiers are still carrying extra Ammo and stuff like grenades 🤦♂️ And tactics need to be adjusted. In your scenario it would be further away and camouflaged.
Geez it's like this rocket propelled grenade magnet was conceived in an alternate universe, you realize RPG's are launched around the non-linear battlefield like spitwads in a 5th grade classroom.
I agree. I do not see where this is useful for SF Operations or Light Infantry. They look big and cumbersome and probably loud. As you stated, use them in massed formations and they will be devastating. Imagine 50 of these attached to a Mechanized company. Load them with hellfires and anti-personnel machine guns. Those robots combined with M1s, Bradleys, and infantry on a company scale would be formidable.
80kg is what soldiers throughout history carry on their back....this will carry a squad's packs...so the infantry will then put a pack on their back weighing 80kg !
And this is the first product from Canada that doesn't have the maple leaf all over it.... like $hit I think if I look hard enough I'll find one tattooed somewhere on me
DAMNIT WHY ARE YOU STILL SAYING CHASS-ISS AFTER ALL THIS TIME WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY IT'S BEEN YEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ... Other than that, still one of my top 3 favorite channel collections. BUT STILL, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

So you're giving every foot squad a logistics nightmare needing to support one of these vehicles?. @@Shatterfury1871 I think LOCK N LOAD is referencing the FATTRUCK that is featured in the video, second vehicle with 4-wheels. It's a Russian Sherpa rip-off but better.
@@Shatterfury1871 Actually, it was designed and engineered at one of Rheinmetall's facilities in Canada, although I would imagine that the company's head office played a significant role.
I know what I want for Christmas so Santa if you're listening make it happen 😂🇺🇲🇵🇷🙏🏼
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my fav UGV, love it since it was first announced
Drones make this obsolete…spots tracks and follows to the troops. Heat signature. Superstructure easy to spot and identify.
"Drones make this obsolete" So it makes itself obsolete?
Please please please give it a mode where it imprints on one soldier and follows them around. My dreams of robot tac-doggy must come true.
it needs more armor the advantage to it being un maned is that its weight is low relative to its size if this thing isnt ment to be disposable then i would hope it has atleast .50 cal rated armored and maybe even more i mean like i said without a crew you shouldnt have a hard time adding a stupid amount of armor to the thing i mean even Bradley levels of armor should be achievable
More armour? Then it doesn't float.
Armor? It's a support vehicle to assist troop movements, scouts, etc, not a cavalry charger leading them on the front lines.
Light reactive armor maybe it will still float.
So armor the unmanned thing whose 2-3 person crew operates it remotely? Well, if the troops it supports have armor. (I'm not sure which deserves such protection more, or desires it 😏)
Easily taken out by $1000 civilian drone 😁😂
So....the $1000 civilian drone just kamikazes into it or...?
The wise person uses technology and tactics from the NEXT century.
skynet has ent...ent...ent...ent... skynet is now controlling the chat.
3:13 Bro they just stripped an Argo and Sherp and put armor on it (if that’s an option and more). Why didn’t others companies think of that?
Given recent experience hope it comes with drone jamming
Impressive demonstration but probably not mobile enough to keep up with infantry in rough country. Give them small, quiet camera drones so they can see what they're up against and data links to call in precision whupass when they need it.
I was actually thinking of a tethered drone that could rise off the top of the mast to peak around and over. Like climbing a tree. Would be nice to see in dark fog smoke thermal et al
Seems best use would be drop or move out support. Then fall back to.
absolutely amazing videos
Agree, I'm subbed to all of the Dark Channels, If you didn't know, the other channels are, Dark Footage, Dark Skys, Dark Seas, Dark -5, all of them are very Interesting.
Handy but I think it would be too noisy bashing through the bush for recon work, probably best for resupply jobs
Seems like it would be best used in semi-controlled urban environments. Maybe in open terrain, but that thing has a HUGE signature which would be a problem. I just don't see it as something to be used day-to-day like they are trying to show.
All it takes is one RPG7 to the turret, the it's gone.
You guys have never made a video on the Ch-53K King Stallion. Could we get that video?
Impressive piece of equipment. Does the U.S. military utilize any of these?
🌴☀️🌴
Yes it Is impressive. Britian has already purchased them from Canada. Give the U.S. some time, it was only released in 2020.
Buddy has NO clue what he's talking about. Time's are changing fast. Outstanding piece of kit.
(Edit: he also likes his own comments lmao)
It's last test, it fired and hit a 4x4 target over 4 klms away with it's Thales laser guided missiles. It's a very low profile A-UGV.
@@locknload9143 It's a great piece of kit until it gets caught up in the first set of overgrown foliage when your squad has to traverse a draw. keep this kit to the roads... it has no place being integrated into the dismounted infantry unit.
The US had troble ordering them because no English speaking country understands WTF a cha sis is!
South African special forces do
it's a wheeled version of the boston dynamics robo-dog, great idea and tech, but they keep advertising it to SOF when it fits more with regular infantry.
I hope it's blue tooth range and reliability is better than my speakers!
Tes pake bom molotov, amunisi luarnya meledak nga?
i wonder how it fares against landmines, seems like the largest hindrance in the application of a vehicle like this
Everything is hindered by land mines/IEDs.
It depends on the weight and the settings of the mine but generally mines have stood the test of time as being effective and cheap.
Who do you even court martial if an autonomous drone shoots up a wedding ceremony?
How do you even know it was a wedding ceremony when the only people making that claim already want you to die because you're an infidel?
I ve been a Rheinmetall fan for many years !
They dont show you how it limits the terrain the team can move on, gets stuck in dense trees and cant handle heavy rocky terrain without high centering or lacking the clearance. Also how is this better then just brining a modern AFV with an active protection system?
21st century Bren Carrier?
At 2:52 you can see it alongside South African SF
what if someone gets on it at the back and put a bomb in the big wheels?
Wonder if these are being used in ukraine?
Lmao yeah this and gundam suits
Tbh that drone vehicle isn't really new, the us had a very similar vehicle wich also featured in a game stemming from the xbox 360 and playstation 3 era: the game homefront, the vehicle i am talking about is name in that game as the goliath. Wich was also made to carry cargo and was able to have at least a auto canon. Thus the concept is nothing really new...
Just what we need - a robot making decisions on who to kill. There are been science fiction stories about this - they never turn out well.
Don't know if anyone else has said it but its a MALP! Stargate SG 1 for the win!
This is a little too much based on Rheinmetall's marketing material. Comes off like a commercial.
So we're building armed robots with self-learning super intelligence and no empathy? We're so clever.
When your Argo and Sherp go Maximum Overdrive
How loud is it? If it needs to run an ICE motor to recharge batteries, that would be somewhat ok, if it has a power supply allowing a silent run option. If it only has an ICE motor, then that would be problematic for SOF soldiers.
we have to stop the patrol for 8 hours while our gear recharges
ICE is its primary power, and it can run hours on batteries-only. Like the difference between soldiers running into a launching place, then crawling sneakily to the target.
And when under fire that toy makes for a GREAT shield!!!!!!
Is it nuclear powered?
Electric motors so lovely jubbly. Not sure how well it would fare if a 155mm high exploive shell lands near it though. Or even a mortar bomb.
The soldiers are still carrying extra Ammo and stuff like grenades 🤦♂️
And tactics need to be adjusted.
In your scenario it would be further away and camouflaged.
love the videos
That looks like a.... Metal Gear!!!

Future of combat with iron sights cmon
What? They got this thing called the computer it's pretty good
@@markchapman2585 I'm talking about the operators small arms they haven't got computers
Geez it's like this rocket propelled grenade magnet was conceived in an alternate universe, you realize RPG's are launched around the non-linear battlefield like spitwads in a 5th grade classroom.
The troops are the bullet sponges. Got to have something to soak up heavier stuff!
slap some tunes on it and you'd probably have a big hit with the troops.
Robots must be used like tanks operating in large groups for maximum impact
It's the same situation when everyone was asking himself how tanks should be operated when they were new
That is awesome and it Canadian....
Would not want to be an infantry man on the battle field of today, just too many ways to die.
This reminds me of the Mule from Tom Clancy's Advanced Warfighter games.
The one with four tires is just a sherp with the roof cut off.
It's a baby Sherp with an attitude
Looks like more of a hastle than it's worth.
80kg is what soldiers throughout history carry on their back....this will carry a squad's packs...so the infantry will then put a pack on their back weighing 80kg !
Great for hunting moose, though
T-1 Terminator here we come...
ammo and batteries. load it up
That’s just a Sherpa with the top chopped off and electronic actuators attached to the controls.
I think the one in Appleseed (opening scene) was way better.
Coming to a police department near you soon.
More " Toys for the Boys"
Looks like a huge copyright infringement on the Canadian lav3
And this is the first product from Canada that doesn't have the maple leaf all over it.... like $hit I think if I look hard enough I'll find one tattooed somewhere on me
(Seemingly) Random death from an unseen (robotic AI) enemy. The future, the present and the past.
A robotic vehicle that launches robotic vehicles...
Yo dawg, we heard you like drones...
that's it, skynet is here
Made in Canada Eh! The Canadians make some good equipment 👍🏼
The future of combat are the likes of Boston Dynamics dogs that'll kill all boots on the ground.. I mean, the surviving boots after the saturation attacks of littering drones above.
So you're giving every foot squad a logistics nightmare needing to support one of these vehicles?. Plus you've now got a lightweight rapid deployment squad thats now tied, at least, to tracks or dirt roads and has to leave behind its sensors and firepower if they have to go into hills or marshy terrain?. If you need to offload the troops give the squad a pair of Flyer60's or 72's and at least give them someting useful for the logistics burden!.
But is it Joe proof?
That’s what in my neck of the woods we call a hoss cat bygod, and if you don’t know what that is just watch a few westerns
