I did 15 years in the RAF 69/84 and this camp is similar in layout to most with the H block barrack blocks. I don't recognise this station but I do the Airman's mess layout as I worked as a Chef in a good number of them ,the upper floor dinning hall area was usually only used when in emergency when required. The Drawplate collins Ovens you showed were an excellent bit of Kit and very reliable. Very Happy Days.
Great explore of a once busy RAF base. I think the RAF Rapier Training Unit sticker gave it away though. I served in the RAF from '83 to '90 at various bases starting at Swinderby for recruit training to finishing at Wattisham. In between these I was at St Athan, Scampton, Brampton, Molesworth and Bruggen. As for layouts many bases follow a similar theme with single and married quarters accommodation and road layout plus Hangars and airfield. I'm not sure but I think the H block type buildings predate the others even though some of the fixtures and fittings look newer. Every building on camp had a tannoy speaker and this was used for all sorts of daily alerts and exercise announcements, (25:40) The main part of the footage looked like the Junior Ranks Mess (Airmans Mess) with entrance to 2 dining rooms divided by what was the servery area with the big extractor hoods. Upstairs was rarely used unless for functions etc. Just to add to your ghost hunting time stamps here are a few I picked up along the way 22:25 orb and voice 22:50 multiple orbs climbing stairs 30:25 to 30:31multiple orbs various muffled voices - can't make the words out In my experience RAF bases are probably the most haunted places you can visit, I don't know why but that's what encountered especially at Scampton(Combat Operations Centre, Med centre, 2 Hangar) and Bruggen(Airfield)

I stayed here in around 1989/90 with the army cadets. Very big place. There used to be a big gym and also a small inside firing range too. The food was really good. I remember being bollocked for walking across the parade ground by real MP's (they guarded the front entrance and if you were in trouble day or night, we had to spend time in the guard house (im sure it was called the glass house?))
Standard accommodation blocks and airmens mess looks like a trenchard expansion airfield mess with rear counter type kitchen block with a deep rear section Coal fired and later oil fireds heating and cooking back stairwell for upstairs functions etc Oil safety valve standard kingsway system in case of fire using a solder thermal link cable system
At 20.14 you have a dumb waiter lift for the transportation of food or laundry usually, to a basement or upper levels, often used in situations where there may have been too many stairs to carry food around, keeping kitchen staff and food seperate from diners, i noticed the kitchen vents above the walls at ceiling level i'm thinking maybe officers mess upstairs perhaps, good video by the way

This place reminds me of some of the schools I went to as a young grade school boy in the 80s , extremely old multi story schools , grantville republic I believe was the name of it I , in Ga. , very similar construction and interior

Wow you guys got lucky as you saw a pair of knockers and a pussy in the same location, now that's some golden gems. Actually it was a very cool site, the boiler house was very cool with all of the dials etc still intact which is a rarity. I thought you did really well with the hurdles as you were running Ian, I was most impressed. RAF Upwood had a USAF Contingency hospital in hangars and some other nearby buildings. All now gone.
