    I reckon you've sold me on the Uni-X. Even factory speedos can be out, and with new wheels going on to our 4WD, speedo correction is something I'd like to have. The high idle feature in one map is great idea. I like the fact the Uni-X uses factory maps until the engine has warmed up, or goes back to them when coolant temps get to 90 deg C or more. Excellent video, very informative.

    Thanks for this Jamie, love your videos, they have definitely helped me, not a lot out there as far as 200 series videos are concerned. The 200 engine is a hard engine to work on, so much going on in that space.

    Hi Jamie
    I had mine remapped about 6 years ago but am having a Unix put in next week which I’m looking forward too a lot, my map was generic as was not tuned on dyno
    I’m in W.A so the guys from Perth diesel will tune it
    Slowly replacing things with the newer tech and Perth diesel have quite a few nice little things that I have upgraded over the last 12 months
    Cheers for the vid I’ve done a few of your mods to my car, very clever man 👍

    Hi Jamie! Thanks for the video. Your other video like the KDSS lean correction and Transmission fluid change has helped me with my 2011 VDJ200 before and even have a pair oyour V8D4D4500 stickers on my 200. I would love get a UNICHIP-X on my 200, however as I live overseas and the is no dealer in my country, is there anyway this can be remote tuned if I were to get a unichip shipped in from Australia? Appreciate if you can dig some info for me. Thanks Travice

    Hey Jaime, How often do you need to replace the valve assembly egr? I just had mine replaced at the dealer at only 15,000kms. dealer said it had carbon buildups. I had the check engine warning lights on and a couple of lights like traction etc...

    • @austimages
      @austimages  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine has 165,000km on it now. The EGR valve has never been replaced, and the inlet has only been cleaned the once at about 150,000km. Perhaps your was faulty, but there's no way it should have a problem at 15,000km. Hopefully covered under warranty?

    I noticed you had the provent installed near the front grill similar to mine 200. Do you get oil sludge built up in the can ? I spoke to the guy sold me the can and he said it’s because it is installed at the front where it get lots of cold air. What are your thoughts on it? I had to take the whole filter out and scrape the sludge off it ... wondering anyone else has the same problem??

    • @austimages
      @austimages  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be an issue with that mounting position, but I had no choice due to under bonnet space. The condensation/sludge is more common in cold climates and when driving on short trips. It generally clears itself on long trips, and as I do enough of those I haven't had an issue. You can also reduce the issue by wrapping the catch can in self-adhesive foam (around 5mm thick), which insulates it reducing/eliminating condensation build up.

    What were the dyno figures? Did it come anywhere near the claimed 200kW Toyota reckons they make stock.

    • @austimages
      @austimages  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can find the stock figures on the old Q4 installation page here: www.project200.com.au/chip-and-exhaust/
      Stock power was 136kW at the wheels. The 195kW Toyota quote is a flywheel figure, so doesn't allow for driveline losses. So the figures aren't really comparable. You normally expect at least a 20% loss in the driveline, but this vehicle also had larger offroad tyres which further robs power on a rolling dyno.

      @@austimages No worries. Did you change out the fuel filter prior to the dyno run? I find my VDJ79R has noticeably more power after a new fuel filter is fitted. My poor mans power chip is a fuel filter change.

    Why there is a lot of carbon buildup in intake manifold with catch can fitted, as some one said it with be no more carbon buildup in intake manifold after fitting the Cach can .

    • @austimages
      @austimages  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't have a catch can before this video was made. But in any case, a catch can doesn't eliminate the buildup, it just reduces it. The carbon is still coming through from the EGR system, and there is still some oil vapour that gets through the catch can. Those two materials combine to form the sludgy buildup.

    $250k fine for EGR delete? C'mon mate, we are in Australia here! They didn't fine people infected with covid going to the MCG or other events, surely and EGR delete is not as bad 🤔. LOL
