A good brush can make all the difference in how a polish applies. I like a wide and round tip brush. So if I can't find a replacement brush for a brand I usually pass on buying from them.
I think it is user error. One thing that will make a difference is to let the polish fully dry in between coats. So much easier and helps prevent bald spots. This is what I would recommend with thicker polishes or jellies😊

I am with you on the magnetic polishes. I have short nails and the magnetic results just aren't that visible. And it takes so much time.

Abracadabra was terrible. You could’ve got a bad batch but I don’t think it was user error.
