Non better, non better. This is all real. They loved the music. Was not all about the money and recognition :) Talked with Ralph many times over the years, he was always so kind and talk to you like he cared about you. When I was about 10 years old, he was sitting way back from the stage listening. The location was Lost Acres Bluegrass Festival. I had my banjo and asked him to sign the head. He gladly did, it says Keep Picking Ralph Stanley. I still have this and is one of my best memories of Ralph. I am currently 57 years old. Miss this man and his distinctive sound. I am still playing and try my best to keep the Stanley sound alive today. Rest in Peace my friends, rest in peace :)
To join the Clinch Mountain Boys you had to be super good, you couldn't be just good, you had to be next level or it just wasn't going to work out. So all these musicians you're seeing with Ralph are Just exceptional and legends like Cooke and Curly and the boys.
My second cousin Ralph Smith was with Ralph Stanley for some time played the guitar one of my dads favorite cousins he had a few that were his favorite but he loved them all the same I lost him in a car wreak going on 25 years my old man played the guitar just like all them Lewis and Smith men did in there time and some of them are still here
thank you for the show tonight. Happy new year ' hope we all have a great 2025.
