Join us as we search for the Best 55 Plus Community in Florida and tour the model homes in the neighborhood of Del Webb at Tradition. The gem of this community is the resort style pool with several zero-entry points, plenty of loungers, a hot tub with a deck which overlooks a pond.

We also live in The Villages and recently looked at the Tradition area on the way to Miami. Two other things we noted at the Del Webb. 1) The home prices there are significantly less than the same models in other Del Webb communities. 2) The property taxes in St. Lucie County are some of the highest in the state. Now you have grandkids that may want to visit? And of course the kids need to come with the grandkids! So I see a Murphy bed in the office, and bunk beds in the second bedroom, and maybe a pullout in the living room! (LOL) Good Luck!

Prices fluctuate, of course, but you can get in starting at the mid $300's. Right now, HOA varies by size of home starting at around $300 a month with an additional $200 a month which includes cable, internet, landline and alarm services.
I’ve been told stay away from Del Webb homes. Port St. Lucie has the highest tax rates in Fla. plus at traditions you have to pay 2 HOA’s and a CDD fee. On top of that the traffic is horrible.

We lived in Boca Raton for 5 years until a year ago the rent prices went sky rocketing, how much is rent there ?
Depends on where and square footage. Last year it was $1500-$2300 for a year lease in The Villages. Much more for a shorter lease. We don't know about Del Webb.
Is it a bike friendly community?
I would say yes within the neighborhood itself but I wouldn't ride my bike on the main streets to Tradition Village Center as it is a 2 lane road and very busy. I don't know if there are sidewalks all the way down the 3 miles to Tradition. It is not like The Villages where there are 100 miles of interconnecting paths from neighborhood to neighborhood.
