I like this format. I tend to jump around to keep moving forward.
Thanks buddy :)
to the only guy in the game that can paint. I say cheers.
Thank Rob. There’s loads of good painters out there though :)
One of my favorite muscle cars - a friend of mine in high school had this car in orange and white. Model On!!!
Thanks buddy :)
Man, this takes me back.
Only in the early 90s,the 69 Camaro model kit was molded in flippin' Blue plastic. Was very hard to paint.....especially when you had nothing but the good ol Testors kit brushes.
Spray kit came a bit later.
Nice very Nice 🐎Mr. ED Says just have fun modeling
I like the format. It’s very much how I work on projects and makes complete sense.
Thanks buddy :)
I love watching your videos, and learning different tricks.
Love the color.
Thanks buddy :)
*What a beautiful paint, several layers of varnish give such a shinny look!*
Thank you! Cheers!
I absolutly love that procedure used to paint that body. Thanks for the inspiration i needed to get my paint booth and air brush set up in my new house.
Cheers mike :)
Had a buddy growing up that had a gold 69, with a black vinyl top, and seeing this reminded me of him.
Thanks buddy :)
@@InternationalScaleModeller Actually, thank you.
very nice paint !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow! What a beautiful color!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice your paint looks awesome
That color is amazing. All of the effort to achieve that look was well worth it. I think I would have went with white stripes, but the black ones look really good. I agree with masking and spraying on the chrome. I absolutely hate using Bare Metal Foil. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks buddy :)
Love it . nice one bud
Wow that color is awesome! Great job Paul!
Thank you! Cheers!
Toujours des peintures extra !! .Congratulations ...
Thank you buddy
great stuff, subbed, cheers from italy,!! Robert
Nice paint works Paul.Congrats.
Thank you! Cheers!
New sub, amazing expertise on display, appreciate the fine detailing. My expertise is in large construction so forgive if I'm naive, but when masking windows in a home for paint or a large object like a fireplace, we tape the edges as you have, but the body of the area around the tape gets a clear plastic which doesn't adhere and takes seconds to cover rather than putting tape on the entire surface area that needs covering. I think if you cut paper, or clear plastic to cover the car body it would cut the time down dramatically, fwiw. Cheers mate, love your work.
Very cool !! Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
epic build Paul, thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it
beautiful work Paul!
Many thanks!
I personally don't have a preference for your videos, I just enjoy watching you build some of these kits and picking up techniques etc along the way. I like that you have commentary, some other builders I watch are mute and their videos aren't as enjoyable.
I appreciate that!
Beautiful work!
Thank you very much!
I've said this before and I'm going to say it again. Your paint work is phenomenal. I have a few of these kits in my stash so I'm excited to see this one finished. Your choice of color was spot on.
Thanks buddy :)
Hello Paul! Great video as always, yes I like the way you have done bits between the body prep/work, oddly I had a delivery of my 1970 and half Camaro from AMT. looks interesting, then this series popped up on recommended so I am now going to watch part 2 🙂Cheers
Cheers mate
Can you do this with spray cans
I built the same model kit.
Nice one
Amazing!. The end colour looks bloody nice but I reckon the Gold base looked equally as good. The Gold brings back memories as a really young bloke (around 9 years old) seeing a Drag car with a really cool, old school metallic metal flake paint job down here in OZ, It went pretty hard down the quarter from memory too.
Thanks buddy :)
Is it not necessary to sand between coats? Thanks Paul! Judy in Nova Scotia, Canada
Paul it's been a minute since I've watched one of your videos and spoken with you. Life has been very busy. This is Carey Allen from Idaho Scale modler. Just watching your Z28 Camaro video. I want to show you a few pictures of the one I'm building for my brother-in-law who is currently restoring a 69RS/SS Camero in British racing green.
Not sure how to post the to you.
Hey buddy send the to my email ismprizeclaim@gmail.com
Do you wear a dusk mask if you have alot of sanding to do?
Only if it’s resin I’m sanding
Do you need to scrap painted pieces of plastic model to glue?
Scrape? No I just use ca glue
Beautiful build,, Can I ask, what transparent red is that? And did you use a 0.5 needle? Bcuz I see your spray pattern is nice and wide. I have the Master G233, with 3 needles and I'm not liking the 1/2" spray lines it leaves as I spray. I mean, I think the pattern should be wide. What say ye..?
At 13.35 I show and tell you the paint. Airbrush is an iwata hpc+ .3mm needle :)
@@InternationalScaleModeller Thank you so very much. Would you say the Gold metallic base is better than a Silver coat?
Yes defo. I have a comparison video showing all the gx clears and metallics being test sprayed over gold and silver it shows the difference. It’s a patron exclusive video though. You can become a patron in my video description
So…… you don’t like Bare Metal Foil for the trim? It’s all I use.
Yep it’s rubbish doesn’t stick at all now
Great work Paul and amazing spray painting skill over that Gold looks amazing ! . I wonder if you can advise on how to spray the various type of clears that work well over decals including the 2k's you like. Is solvent based or acrylic based clears better as decals can sometimes get damaged by the clear coats and turn yellow over time after all the hard work . Is there some clears to avoid putting over decals or is just trial and error ?.
You need to be careful with any of the lacquer clears that are heavily thinned as the thinner can eat your decals, 2k is the safest/best clear coat imo
When you say bleach as a chrome remover, you mean like common laundry hypochlorite?
Yeah the stuff you clean toilets with.
Hey Paul. Great build. Love the candy red. On your Ferrari 250 build you used a higher quality metal foil than bare metal. did you abandon that too and what is the paint you use for the chrome trim. Mr Hobby metallic aluminum? I didn't quite hear what you said I find kit Chrome tends to be just toyish and I am tempted to strip it all and redo it what's your recommendation for high-gloss chrome for 50s American classics and then of course the more polished aluminum for 70s and newer. Also I have the Tamiya 635csi and I want to strip the rims and do a good alloy finish. Mr Hobby or Tamiya aluminum? Thoughts... recommendations? Thanks.
