Considering the time and the technology available it was a great free roam game. There were none at the time where you can deviate from linier game play This made it possible to do what you always wanted in a game and just kill stuff or get out and drive off. In 1997 there weren't any decent orginal games, just getting coins, sports or Doom style 1st persons shooters with the same plot and ending. Someone had an idea and ran with it.
You need a creative mind to enjoy this game. This is art. This is feeling. This is 2pac. This shits real. You kids that doesn't get that are missing out of the great wisdoms of what life can provide, and this game eats it's essence
The whole game had moments of hilarity and was just twisted. I mean, a game named 'Kill Frenzy' with a game show host intro, congratulating you on your efforts., and when you ran into people or picked fights with them, they yelled 'BITE ME TWICE!' And that whole thing where you kill the line of orange men and you get 'GURUNGA!!' come up on your screen. The newer GTA's don't have those moments of dark humour that the original had.
