- A two-for-one unboxing of Disney's 101 Dalmatians Diamond Edition and 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure Special Edition on Blu-Ray combo packs.
I was worried that they might crop the original to widescreen but I'm happy to report that they kept it in its' original aspect ratio and overall it looks great on Blu-Ray!

101 Dalmatians 1961 Is My Favorite Disney Movie
I really like the Disney Movieview option on the Blu Ray. Because it's from the 60's it was made and produced in Fullscreen, they added an option where they added Artwork by one of the film's original artists into the Black Bars on the sides.
Your Right. It did came out in 1961.
I have the Platinum Edition DVD from 2008, and from what i understand there has not been release of the film anywhere where it is cropped to widescreen format. It seems to be the one Disney animated classic from the '60s that has been intended exclusively for 4:3 except when it was in theaters, and that really is a surprise considering some of it's Xerox kin (Jungle Book, Aristocats.etc) were originally on video and DVD in fullscreen before they were later re released in standard 16:9 widescreen.
101 Dalmatians is my favorite movie of the 1960s. It is the most funniest Disney classic ever. Jasper and Horace are so hilarious, their comedy cracks me up every time. And yes, the Dalmatian puppies are so adorable, and Cruella’s plan is truly diabolical because she wants to kill them in order to make coats out of them. Thankfully, the kind and caring parents, Pongo and Perdita, with the help of the “Twilight Bark,” were there to save the day.
2:19 I'm pretty sure it was originally released in Cinema Scope. So, I don't think they changed anything

The reason that they crop certain movies on Blu-Ray is because they were never meant to be seen in Full Screen in theaters. Only Widescreen.

Why do you not like cropping. Widescreen fits on New Tv's. It's my favorite.!.
