If you have a band like this you can trigger different pre-recorded loops that way you can stay in time with a live drummer. Also since they have a crew a lot of the sequencing can be done backstage now and with midi they can actually change presets on the fly so Ethan doesn't have to

I do love Alice’s voice but I love Edith’s voice in the newest album and also in live performances. Like Alice wouldn’t “sing” so much in performances, she would whisper, be silent, or use a strong vocoder - and as much as I love Alice I feel like Edith delivers a much more satisfying live performance :)
