    We are On the Road Again, this time for a weekend on the mountain. It doesn't take long at over 10,000 feet to find a few folks in need of assistance. So we get to work and then it's some RNR for a few days in sub zero temps. What a life! Doing what we love and filming what we do! Thanks for all the support and thanks for joining us! Casey

    Casey does the strong wind make it colder up there like it does everywhere else?
    I will say I am 43 years old and I would have a good time it would be so peaceful to get away from everything.
    I was surprised to see a tracked vehicle get stuck since they are on tracks to avoid getting stuck in snow.
    You can tell that popi loves to lead while you guys follow behind in the vehicles.

    At 10,000 feet does it still snow in April and May there? I’m kind of wondering what month all that will finally melt, because we don’t have anything near these conditions in the UK, although some mountains in Scotland are very near to the coast and can pick up good snowfalls in some years. I love the snow (though not the wind that sometimes comes with it!)
    Keep the videos coming. The way I look at it, you are providing a secondary service for those who are interested but can’t get to experience anything like this, in addition to your main job of helping those who would otherwise be stranded in a desperate situation.
    Thank you for some interesting content. Best wishes from the UK! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸

    • @CaseysOffRoadRecovery

      We can get snow at elevation about any time during the year. July is when it might melt...closer to end of July first of August. Thanks for the kind words.

    If it wasn't for that Jeep going deep, I would have thought that snow was only 6" - 8" deep. That sort of confused my Florida brain (I misjudge snow). 😂😂

    Who is the guy in the snow cat?

  • @charlesb4267
    @charlesb4267 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Casey, at that altitude isn't your machine choking on fuel and way down on power given that its a carbed unit ( not that the tj would be a ball of fire but it at least can compensate for the fuel mixture ) . That's where a light turbo gas engine would shine aside from it having very questionable reliability !

    • @CaseysOffRoadRecovery
      @CaseysOffRoadRecovery  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A quick 1/4 turn of the mixture screw my machine never knew it left the beach. It will keep right up with the TJ.

    • @charlesb4267
      @charlesb4267 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CaseysOffRoadRecovery Oh, I gather that carb dates back to the era where the main jet could be adjusted. One example I have around the farm is a Massey 65 gas, I have to adjust it a bit richer for the winter or otherwise it coughs and dies off.

    • @CaseysOffRoadRecovery
      @CaseysOffRoadRecovery  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is correct. It runs real good up there. May put a little fuel injected engine in it sometime.

      @@CaseysOffRoadRecovery when in the white powder snowcat will always be king, floatation is key when in super soft stuff like snow/sand/deep mud, one question though how does the nodwell handle the super soft stuff with its track width + the weight.

    • @zachlangolf2287
      @zachlangolf2287 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As a 5th generation native of Colorado, I'm having trouble believing that helping the jeep vehicle was over 10,000 ft. Its clear that there are trees higher than your current elevation, maybe 2-300Ft. or more,please explain? maybe I'm wrong!!!

    • @CaseysOffRoadRecovery
      @CaseysOffRoadRecovery  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our cabin is at 10, 250 feet elevation and surrounded by trees. The Jeep was at Louder station 10,100 feet. We have trees up to 11,250 feet or so. The peak at Brinhead is 11,317 feet and does not have trees.
