i liked the eileen adaptation. it felt very much like style over substance, which is a bit strange given it was moshfegh-and her husband-who wrote the screenplay. but it was visually gorgeous!!! there's a good podcast episode on script apart of them talking about writing it x

To me it sounds like Hjorth's book would pair well with Joachim von Trier's film "The Worst Person in the World". If you never watched any of his films I highly recommend all of them, but my personal favorite is "Oslo, August 31st" and his first film is very interesting as it is a story about two friends who are trying to make it in the Norwegian literary world, it is called "Reprise" (this one is available on Netflix).

I really liked the book want! I hope you pick it up again if you feel like it. I also read it because of Rebecca around 1.5 years ago, because of a recommendation in her video. Also loved all the movies in between the reading! Hope your knee will get better soon ❤

Benjamin, do you have a Letterboxd??
"I did that thing that you shouldn't do when you're reading a book is start another book" I'm so guilty of that... or end up stuck in a book forever because I WANTED to start another book but told myself to finish the one(s) I'm currently reading. Not that that means I'm not enjoying what I may be in the middle of but sometimes my focus/(specific) interest shifts more quickly than my reading speed/pace.
