Thanks for the breakdown! This is footage from a slightly outdated build of the game which doesn't include a few fixes for minor glitches you see here (Choppy animations & footwork + collision issues).
We've spent more time this past month focusing on the graphical aspects of the game which I'm glad people have noticed.
As for the blocking & parrying mechanics, you're correct in saying that a player can both Block high or low as well as parrying specific strikes while blocking. We've taken inspiration for this mechanic from Fight Night Round 3.
We should've displayed more hand parries, but as you see at 4:56 the player is able to parry a left hook from the "Long guard" since this is just a variation on the default high block. Players will be able to incorporate multiple guard styles at once. This means that a player can transition between guard styles depending on the situation.
One more thing for the boxing fans:
Yes we are adding Boxing and a Boxing ruleset into the game.

I've always felt we needed a pure muay thai game , not mma but traditional muay thai , with gloves and ropes they used for gloves.

This looks really good. That’s arm reaching out is called a POST. Distracts, creates space and at times can attack the balance. Lot of intelligent gameplay design here. Thanks for sharing family 👍🏾

This is what a combat sports game made in 2024 is supposed to look like, gameplay first and foremost. Crazy part is they’re not even done yet. If only there was a boxing game with the same dedication
The weight transfer in the animations is what Undisputed needs because far too many of the punches are all arms

Gameplay So smooth
Not sure how big the dev team at Overhand Interactive is but this sorta makes EA look bad.
I know the Konami's PS2 K-1 GP kickboxing series had a neutral guard, that it would block by it self, if the controllers were left un touch.
omg they added a real thai long guard😭. This looks so fucking good. The movement and defense mechanics will allow you to implement different styles like muay femur, muay khao, muay maat, muay dtae, Dutch kickboxing style, Japanese kickboxing style etc. Dude I’m so hyped for this. This is for the real striking fans. I’ll support this all the way through
