- Einstein entertains Marcia in the kitchen as she prepares dinner. This particular day Einstein didn't want to help and was content to stay on his perch. Sometimes he wants to help too much and he tends to get in the way and it might be dangerous for him. It's important that you be attentive when you have a parrot in the kitchen. Towards the end of the video Einstein changed his mind and got the idea that he wanted to help. He flew over to the counter and maneuvered his way to the drawer and then to the floor. Having a parrot on the floor while trying to get dinner ready is just not safe and Einstein needed to go to his cage or visit Jeff in another part of the house. If it's not safe, or you cannot properly supervise the parrot while in the kitchen, then it's always the right decision to remove them and place them in a safe location.

Einstein is a silly, smart, and popular parrot who loves to talk and entertain! He is famous for his impression of Matthew McConaughey, ( • Einstein thinks Matthe... ) NOT the "Einstein" that was featured on the TV show Animal Planet. He likes to talk on various "parrot approved areas" in our home, such as the kitchen drawer, the shower, kitchen chairs, napkin holders, and of course his play perches! Einstein has brought much joy to our lives, but training and living with a parrot requires time, patience, and sacrifice.

When did Einstein start calling you Marcia mouse? That makes me laugh SO hard LOL along with the pop pop pop corn !!
Sometime last year I think. In teaching Einstein, "What does a mouse say?" he would reply "Eek-eek!" He eventually learned to say "mouse" too. He then combined the words together. It has now become a nickname for Marcia, his owner. Marcia mouse was a word combination Einstein made up on his own. He went through a phase where he was using alteration to form word combinations. About the same time I was teaching him, "What does a mouse say?” and he would reply "Eek-eek!" He eventually learned to say "mouse" too. He then combined the words together… and it was born as my nickname by the Birdie Brigade! LOL! Same with Marcia Melon. He just likes the words starting with the same sound and combined them. Although there is no associating sound, it’s not as popular with him! LOL! Note: Melon is his word for watermelon. Although he can say “water" and “melon", he will not say “watermelon”. It’s what he decides… and that’s it! :)
