I love how the three gun training he took Keanu to not only changed up his stance to make him look more fluid, but that the extra fluidity helped ease the transition into hand to hand combat. The gun-jitsu could be upped because it looked more natural for him to have opportunities to throw a guy or need to make distance to get to his weapon. And John Wick always purveying for threats while _Keanu Reeves_ knew where the threats would be gives the effect of this inhumanly good assassin, not omnipotent but placing shots on threats more effectively than anybody could.
It always amazes me when I re-realize that Keanu does _all_ of his own stunts besides the car wrecks. The dude is almost 60 and still throwing down this hard?? And the way he loves to go through all the training. He's always grinning ear to ear in the behind the scenes. He's so cool lmao
Lately, I had people using Keanu as argument for training gun safety into actors. Now watching this video, and how this specific prop gun works, now I know it’s less teaching Keanu about guns, but getting him practicing the motions so he looks natural using them quickly.

It's nice to see and hear from him. I watched all of those Mk films several times and even the tv series a couple of times. I looked him up once briefly, I never knew he was soo busy with things.
I don't think John Wick 1 featured a lot of isosceles. It was mostly Center Axis Relock. That's why it was so memorable. There sure were moments where he shot with isosceles stance but it was due to framing of the shot
I'd love to see you guys take a look at some of the insanely massive battle scenes in 1960's soviet movies. The battle of Borodino in War and Peace (1967) or the cavalry charges in Waterloo (1970) are stunts at a mind-bending scale. Thousands of extras, horses, canons and smoke. I can't even imagine how they coordinated it all.
I've never had a "broken" rib, but I have fractured one before. I can say from experience that was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I had something else he didn't mention, extreme nausea. So I couldn't imagine keeping it together after a fully broken rib. I guess that's why I'm not a stunt man. :D
The best thing about improving on the choreo and stunts in the John Wick films is how it actually fits in with the story. In the first movie, he's out of practice from retirement, so Keanu's more robotic moves make sense for a guy who canonically lost a step or two. Then, as the movies continue, you see him shaking the rust off and getting back to that fabled assassin he once was.

Hmmmm... This episode made me think about Writers, and highlighting when/where it's important to have them on set when something happens (like the example with 'what if something happened to Keanu?') that will require rewrites... Would you guys consider having a Writers React series too? To help highlight that importance and a lot of the stuff that happens behind the set that the general public never sees? Would that be possible within the bounds of the strike since it's not really a writing gig, and more of a series of brief scene related interviews? I would love to hear more about such things.
You guys should analyze some of the practical effects of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The scene where Richard Dreyfus's truck gets scanned by the alien ship and everything in the cab floats to the ceiling seems like an interestingly technical scene.
[STUNT GUEST SUGGESTION] --- Unlikely this will be seen, but Buddy Joe Hooker is someone who has been in the stun industry for ages. Look up "Train stunt from Framed" to get an idea of what a mad lad he is. Not only is the stunt crazy, he has also jumped landing helicopters using a motorcycle and rolled a semi-truck 17 times. He's still alive at 81, and if he's in the shape to be on your show I bet it would be a huge service to get some of his exploits and stories on the show.

"Jackie Chan probably doesn't get the credit he deserves."
Hilarious... and probably true. Just shows how much of a legend he is.
Every guest just always brings the vibe up and is just so passionate to talk about their work and others works
That was a great episode, good energy and good dynamics between the group - LOVED it and laughed out loud a couple times. Thanks guys!
JJ is top 5 fav guests, he brings a perfect blend of energy and knowledge.
OG!!!
"Nothing is scripted in the Army, and you have to do a lot more cleaning." As a two-time Afghanistan vet, *I felt that*.
