Im not sure if it's just me, but no one can match Koji's emotion. This is a great performance, but Koji is on another level. The nuance and the realness you feel when he sings is incomparable.

Autumn strong was very good already, but this one is phenomenal. After hearing this version, I feel myself deep inside, but also feeling connected with Dimash. There is so much love next to feelings of anxiety, mourning, desperation and begging, but the main feeling is love. It`s so wonderful. I love those studio versions most, because there`s no show going on, he is wearing a pullover, not an expensive suit, he is more pure, he doesn`t have to do something for show, but only for himself to express and convey the song. That is my favourite way to see Dimash (except live...of course...).

I always thought that Britain was pioneering when it came to promoting new talent for the benefit of the rest of the world. What happened here? His you tube channel has around 1.67 m subscribers. The average views of his songs is around 250k. I’d never heard of this gent until you reacted to one of his songs. Just shows the sorry state of the British music scene when major talents like Dimash are not given the courtesy of any air play…at least none that I am aware of. As an experiment, I’m going to post something on Facebook simply asking if anyone has heard of him…the results should be interesting. As for this cover…wow. Intensity, passion, an incredible controlled vocal range. I wouldn’t go quite as far as suggesting he is the male equivalent of Floor…that is being a bit silly. Thank you Sabina…box ticked.
Floor is a great singer, but Dimash is arguably (many would say unquestionably) the greatest vocalist who has ever lived, male or female. As you explore his work you will be amazed time and time again. Btw, he played a sellout concert in the O2 arena in 2018 and had to cancel another London visit in 2020 due to the pandemic. He should be coming back to the UK sometime in 2022, COVID permitting.
I'm not sure why, but I like the song a lot better in Japanese than in Mandarin. Somehow the words go better with the music. And the way Dimash sings it here is just amazing. Of course, the original has its own magic. I think with the Japanese version Dimash has definitely come closer to the original.

I kept thinking the Japanese and the Chinese songs were the same song and now find out the two are completely different songs. Wow. And Dimash sings this new song absolutely beautifully. Apparently there was a Chinese TV series about the Japanese actress who was deported to Japan and the show producers wanted the Ikanaide music for the show. New lyrics were written and Autumn Strong became the theme for the tv series. Dimash's Autumn Strong is a magnificent interpretation of gentle and heartfelt sorrow. His interpretation of the Japanese Ikanaide has the desperate and absolute desolation of loss. Magnificent. Both interpretations are perfect for each song.
No one, not one person, can interpret a song with so much emotion...it was like watching a short Broadway Play...Dimash has such a range, and so many voices...if you don't see him, I can understand how one might not believe he could sing like this.

Yes exactly!! His dynamics are one of his superpowers, which I always notice. This is the main way he adds so much emotion into his vocals, I think, ( in addition to actually feeling the song, which he definitely does).

Dear Sabina, How lovely to have you back with Dimash! "Ikanaide" totally floored me. I've known the song by Koji Tamaki for many years and love it very much. Dimash's version is just wonderful. He manages to make you fall in love with him all over again with every new song - with a running start! And even though my Japanese is so rusty after all these years that it almost doesn't exist anymore, this song catches me again on a much more intense level than the version in Mandarin (which is without a doubt, very, very beautiful too) - simply because Japanese is more familiar to me than Chinese. His whispery start was awesome and then going to the desperate crying not to go was perfect. The original, and Autumn Strong are awesome too, but more melancholy, deep pain but not the begging, pleading not to go like this one. Dimash a master of story telling using his incredible voice, his hand and body movements , facial expressions tells the story, there’s always that anticipation. I listen to the Sinher version and then concert and this one. One song and yet delivers it in different way and they are all beautiful it’s like listening to different song. New lyrics were written and Autumn Strong became the theme for the tv series. Dimash's Autumn Strong is a magnificent interpretation of gentle and heartfelt sorrow. His interpretation of the Japanese Ikanaide has the desperate and absolute desolation of loss. Magnificent. Both interpretations are perfect for each song.
No one, not one person, can interpret a song with so much emotion...it was like watching a short Broadway Play...Dimash has such a range, and so many voices...if you don't see him, I can understand how one might not believe he could sing like this.
👉 The Chinese and Japanese versions have totally different lyrics. The Chinese and Japanese versions have completely different lyrics. Both are based on a true story. The Chinese version is sad, says goodbye, just as the leaves fall in autumn and autumn comes ... irrevocably. The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking.
I am totally fascinated how sensitively Dimash differentiates between the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version and conveys them to the listener... it tears my heart apart and the tears keep flowing. I have never heard anything like this from a singer in my entire life. That is true mastery.
* The original Japanese version by Koji Tamaki based on a sad true story... very touching… The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling.

The best I've heard Dimash sing it, astonishing. That said, the emotional expression and heart break of the original artist will probably never be topped, it's just too personal by comparison. "Ikanaide" totally floored me. I've known the song by Koji Tamaki for many years and love it very much. Dimash's version is just wonderful. He manages to make you fall in love with him all over again with every new song - with a running start! And even though my Japanese is so rusty after all these years that it almost doesn't exist anymore, this song catches me again on a much more intense level than the version in Mandarin (which is without a doubt, very, very beautiful too) - simply because Japanese is more familiar to me than Chinese.

The original, and Autumn Strong are awesome too, but more melancholy, deep pain but not the begging, pleading not to go like this one. Dimash a master of story telling using his incredible voice, his hand and body movements , facial expressions tells the story, there’s always that anticipation. I listen to the Sinher version and then concert and this one. One song and yet delivers it in different way and they are all beautiful it’s like listening to different song. He always surprised us, you think his vocal is technique are perfect then he comes back and leave us speechless. A legend in the making.
