    The manufacturer doesn't care.........might see your video, watch 15secs of it then turn it off.
    Great that you highlighted the issues to avoid other buyers having the same pain.

    Tony, if you haven't have a chance to visit Shenzhen in China do yourself a favour and make the trip. You need a strong mind as scammers will try to tear you apart. It was a former Mecca of electronics manufacturing. Now cheaper countries have come along and with unemployment now being a major plague there it has become the rat race to capitalise what ever is left of a very dying bubble. It is probably easier to fly into Hong Kong and make use of a new visa free 15 day arrangement. Despite the chaos it is relatively save in the daytime.

      Thank for that information, china is still on our list before we get to old to travel to long flights. we hope we will be able to do it one time..

    I purchased a similar model CQV-SWR-508 on Banggood and this meter inserted bad noise into the signal. I am fighting with them right now to return it and get my money back as it was bad out of the box.

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes it was bad, see my TA-0412: th-cam.com/video/W03w-dh7qgY/w-d-xo.html / i hope they compensate you correctly.
      BangUgood is not the best in support on broken stuff... usulay they give you 40% and you take it becouse sending back cost you a fortune.. thay are bad.

      Terrible they put this stuff on the market... First this crap went trough Banggood only, sad to see its now also with Ali... So we need to be more aware now. Hope with more videos like this also from others, we can save many from waisting money and time on this rotten apples.

    I think now that most transceivers have the SWR meter already integrated, the price of the thing could drop a little. I still have some SW-102 for my HTs on UHF/VHF, but even i have a CB radio with SWR meter integrated and for my Yaesu FT891 without integrated autotuner, i have an external ATU100 so it means 2 SWR meters already. I'm puzzled why somebody wants to spend the 165 euro on the DG-503, but i see the thing in almost every shack. Another reason against SWR meters is the widespread of VNAs...

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For me the DG-503 woud also not be my choice as it is missing the Bars or needles. Still for manual tuning on HF.. i prefer a big cross needle analog scale..

    • @earlyadapter643
      @earlyadapter643 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TonyAlbus Yes i see, there is still some need for an instrument with needle display on a screen. In contrast to mechanical instrument, it could measure the frequency and calibrate itself, and also for use in a vehicle would better resist to vibrations.

    The 0405 video was referenced in the advertisement for the previously reviewed swr/power meter.
    My question is how do you find using the switch mode supply? I have a couple of these (rated 25amp)
    Exactly the same as the one on your bench.
    How do they compare in your opinion to linear power supplies?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, please comment on a related video, this is an other subject here. your question can be useful for other, but they will never find it as this is the wrong video.
      Your question. low power low rimple linear, highpower switchedmode but you will have more ripple

    Junk. Thanks for the review. I'm in the market for a meter that handles more than the 25 W that my HP does, but that's not it. I've repaired a lot of small 'new' Chinese modules and equipment, or modified it to make it more functional, and saved money by buying it from China. But for over $100 I think I'd like it to work right the first time.

      @@TonyAlbus, I use a Metcal soldering station now, but I started in electronics back in 1963 with an old woodburner with a nail for a tip. I learned everything the hard way. I taught myself. It was a very slow process. I can't imagine what it would have been like to be a kid and have the Internet at my fingertips, with videos like yours back when I was learning electronics. I was starved for information. (I learned of the existence of the ARRL when I was in college.) The first tech book I learned from as a kid was so old it called capacitors 'condensers', but I read it and reread it. The town librarian finally told me I could stop coming back to the library every 2 weeks to re-sign it out since I was the only one who ever requested it or checked it out. Now I spend a couple of hours a day doing tech reading on the web and watching videos like yours. These days a smart, inquisitive kid could start from nothing and essentially get an MIT PhD in electronics or physics for free from the web, as well as the tips and wisdom of those with decades of practical experience. The knowledge at our fingertips nowadays is staggering. Just sort through the junk and inhale the rest. Times change. Oh to be a kid again, but with a NanoVNA and the Internet.

      @@johnwest7993 Hi John, yes much different times now, you started way before me, in my time it was already transistors but i do remember going to the libaries or cutting schematics out of electronic magazines. and ordering parts or a kit was also from a magazine and you needed to call or send a letter and pay by bank and then 2 weeks later your parts or kit arrived.
