MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement EVO UAE Year of the 50th

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates, a new model has been introduced by the brand in collaboration with their UAE retailer. This special edition is titled the LM Split Escapement EVO UAE Golden Jubilee and marks the half-century of the young state’s existence with a production limited to just 10 pieces. Created by MB&F in collaboration with the esteemed watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, this model features the original configuration of the caliber. The balance wheel is suspended, with the escapement wheel and anchor positioned 12mm below, creating a striking visual arrangement.
Aesthetically, this Legacy Machine stands out with a salmon-colored dial, upon which dark grey time markings are prominently displayed, all encased in a durable grade 5 titanium case complemented by a rubber wristband. Several significant enhancements differentiate this timepiece from its predecessors. Notably, the entire movement has been rotated 30° clockwise. This adjustment has shifted the crown to 4:30, altered the traditional layout of the dial by offsetting the arches from the vertical axis, and repositioned the hour and minute display to 2 o’clock. Additionally, the power reserve indicator is placed at 6 o’clock and the date at 10 o’clock.
The acronym EVO signifies that the domed glass seamlessly integrates with the 44mm-diameter case, a design made possible by the absence of a bezel. The incorporation of the FlexRing system allows the watch to absorb shocks effectively, and with reinforced waterproofing up to a depth of 80 meters, it is suited for both formal/casual events. This model, therefore, is not just a timepiece but a tribute to the enduring spirit of innovation and excellence in the UAE.
