- Speed equals money for commercial fishing boats in Bristol Bay Alaska. The boats in Bristol bay have enjoyed the fruits of strong sockeye salmon returns the past several years. Here are a few new boats (and some old) I captured this salmon season...these boats just keep getting faster! Which one is your favorite?

You got me all pumped for next year already 🔥
Lol, I know! I’ve had a good break and am ready to get back at it!
Great video. A lot different from what I remember 25 years ago. Not much fiberglass anymore or propellers. Seems like a lot of people are running new rigs. Good luck all.
Yeah Mark, there has been a lot of new metal, jet and horsepower in the last 10 years!
lets go! 2023 gonna be heavy!
I’m ready!
Setting in the mudd!! 💪
😂 we do get alllll we can outta those Ultra-Jets!
No Quantum Leap? That one was always our favorite in Egegik.
@@apexalaska yeah he’s an Egegik’r for sure. I don’t remember the last time I was there…maybe 2016…
@@SaltWaterSalmon same, 2016 was my last year there too. Quantum leap was famous for being ridiculously overpowered. Most jet boats have one or two engines, Lucas had 3 454 v8s.
@@apexalaska 🤣
I want. More information about life and fishing. In Alaska l want to live. There with my family
Well, you can look me up on FB and message me there...I'd chat with you for a few minutes.
You're missing the actual fast boats. Convict, Cutting Edge, Cut Throat, Stephanie K, Wild Fish.
In a nutshell yes, you are correct. In my defense…it’s tough duty to run a boat, yell at the crew, sleep and hit every district in hopes of getting footage of every new boat, on a nice day when they are speeding past (WOT) close enough to tell who they are…
So, I get why I can. Do I sound like a whiny fisherman?! 😂😂😂
@@SaltWaterSalmon Not at all! I work on engines. I've met actual whiney fishermen. Need to literally tell some of them to shut the fuck up and let me do my job.
They ain’t that fast thou,
@@sharkdedo7158 grading on a curve! they aren't cigarette boats...just little boats with big engines, made to carry weight not outrun the Po-Leese...
Speed all the way to the fuel dock and jet mechanic.
C'mon David you KNOW we can't make it all the way to the fuel dock! 😂 We gotta stop at the nearest tender!
....and yes the jet units take much more maintenance that those props!
Waoooo. Así. Es. Que. Quiero. Un. Barco. Como. Puedo. Comprar. Uno Y. Pescar. Ayúdame. Porfabor.
Lo siento Eddy, no pondré mi información de contacto aquí... demasiados tipos malos aquí...
Ok. Hermano. Yo. Boy para. Kodiak en julio. A. Compra. Un. Barco. Pequeño. Con. Mi. Familia. Mi. Esposa. Y. Dos. Niños. Quisiera. Alguien. Que me orientará. Aserca. De. La. Pesca. Y la. Vida. En. Alaska. Gracias

Ok. Pero. Ustedes. Venden. Barco. O. No.
@@eddysanchez425 Buena suerte para ti. Solo pesco peces en la bahía de Bristol. La mayor parte del tiempo no estoy en Alaska...
Waoooo. I want to go fishing with you
Where you from Eddie?
@@SaltWaterSalmon l am dominican but l live here in the United States how. Can l learn more. About. Fishing how can l cal you and talk to you
@@eddysantana1504 well I’m not gonna put my phone number on here. Alaska has many opportunities for folks to enter the industry. Really the best way is to fly to Naknek and “pound the docks” which means to look for work on a fishing boat. The down side is you are spending money on airfare without a guaranteed position but it shows skippers/owners you have initiative!
@@SaltWaterSalmon ok soon as I buy a 25 foot fishing boat.
@@SaltWaterSalmon l am looking for a person who guides me on fishing and all the laws of the united states for me to fish
Need 3 boats
I can barely afford one!
Lumie jets huh
Not totally sure what you mean. There is a mix of Hamilton, Ultra-Jet, and Hill Industries in the bay. Probably a few Doen jets in there too!
Get a contract and do not break it.there are consequences. No drugs means no drugs.crew leaving boat means damages.damages means setoffs.
Heck yeah, we do contracts every year on my boats. There are no surprises that way!
Boats sure got fat these days
You aren't kidding, my first boat, a 1979 Rawson was only 10.8 wide....the Smoky Point is 17'. Others like the Okuma are >18' and designs are out there for 20'ers! Dr. Jack is 21' 🤣🤣🤣
@@SaltWaterSalmon Ya I was on a Marco in 80. Cash buyers were paying .77 a lb!
That's painful to hear @@dkeny55 . I don't know what we will do about the price. Some folks can't afford to strike (can't afford not to IMO)...I don't see us coming together behind a solution either. Too many egos, opinions and bad attitudes to be on the same team, even though we already are...
