The gloomy weather, the sense of doubt hanging in the air, wingmen dying one after another, Wizards' inspired vision, your bitterness at being betrayed by a friend, a feeling that PJ is in over his head and will probably die, and above all of it a choking sense of loneliness while you're reduced to a machine to simply do what you must.
Few things in the world connect with me as deeply as this mission, and every December 31st these are the emotions I choose to relive amid all the festiveness.
What an amazing game.

It's good, but I always liked Sorcerer 1's better.
After years of rethinking this game I finally realized it's perfection. It is enclosed in game styles. SO, by the canon Cipher is mercenary before the nuking of belkan border as that is connected with ace combat 5 plot, and he fights for victory. Then he becomes soldier, as Anton Kupchenko must die according to the canon! He is the only one from top squadron leaders who have died, and this is due to war, cipher kills as a soldier! And at the end, Cipher closes the circle by becoming the knight to fight for the greater good, and for his killed friend, against old friend. The most beautiful formulation, circle is closed - THE ROUND TABLE. And Cipher is ultimate knight of it.

if Namco does decide to Remaster this game, I do hope that they make the soldier route be more interesting. On soldier
they could merge the speech/announcement by Bristow and Anthony Palmer
Palmer:"The battle to realign the borders has moved to the meeting boardroom..."
Bristow:"We will carry out the new creation of destruction through the power of righteousness. Territories... peoples... authorities... all will be liberated."
Palmer:"Rising above countries and armies, our "World With No Boundaries" will become one."
Bristow:"This is the new state "A World With No Boundaries" will create. Neither nations nor nationalities have meaning. We will erase these unnecessary borders."
Palmer:"For the ideal. For the people. It's time for a perfect world without restrictions or wars."
Bristow"The World With No Boundaries will pen a new story."
Palmer:"V2 will erase the old one."
Both:"The world will change"
Holy hell, that is actually epic as heck. The two speeches actually complimented each other really well. If anyone can find the audio clips of both Palmer and Bristow's speeches and mix them both together, it'll be awesome. :)

This unimaginable feeling, saving the whole world, in such epic manner, with such epic music... And those words of Wizard, so powerful.

Something tells me that At least someone on the Top Gun Maverick crew played this mission.
This one or the Ace Combat 7 one dodging the search lights
The final part of this mission, when you have to destroy the v2 itself is soo good.
The whole mission builds a hype for this part and then the music kicks in, the allies are all surprised that the team managed to pass through the enemy fire, the awacs telling you that you have little time left, the enemy chatter... Simply amazing.
Now we know where Top Gun Maverick got their inspiration
Larry Foulke, Who is Pixy himself kind of reminds me of Alec Trevelyan.

I don't remember picking an aircraft before this mission, I remember my plane from Mission 16 carrying over to 17 and 18 🤨
You can select aircraft and weapons if you start this mission from the mission select screen instead of just playing through the story.

I love trying to speedrun this mission. Seeing how fast I can beat it. It's pretty fun!
Whew so many "caution pull up" and only 15 secs left, it's really heartpumping
Finished my run at 3 secs left. Pretty heart racing moment at the end there.

@@HA-xt6ge ikr! It reminded me of both this and mission 9 from AC7 since that mission needs you to be in low altitude to avoid those missiles as well.
To be honest, I have never felt so enraged and so much disliking towards a villain in any game.

Ace Combat reminding the world Globalism is a bad idea since 2006.
Not Globalism itself, but the perverted version of it AWWNB preaches.
Just as Belkan Hypernationalism and the Grey Men are perversions of the nation and people of Belka. Of Pops and some of the Aces like Bernhard Schmidt, Rainer Altman, Erich Hillenbrand, and Dietrich Kellerman.
Kris Gordon Globalization will just lead to more redistribution and poverty. The UN currently can’t even help third world nations with all the money that gets thrown at it.

If you want an easy valley of kings experience, I recommend faeb, I don’t recommend mpbm because even if it does a lot of dmg and has good aoa, it takes forever to reload
Yup Su37 and F15MTD are best for that
When you do this mission it’s pretty much victory or nothing
The tunnel in AC5 made me rage but destroying the V2 flying in and out of the facility was fun for some reason.
There’s more space to move and it’s not a timed straight shot you can come in and out at multiple points

I am destroyed all targets (all sams, all aa guns and all planes with v2) in this mission and took max over 63 900 pts with S rank 32 000 pts and 1000 pts for refueling. I was turning my plane like a mad to to this shit. 10 seconds left when I finished on SU-47 gault skin.
I wish AC7 kept the orders to your wingman.
