More than 90 per cent of hair products sold in Hong Kong and tested by the city's consumer watchdog were found to contain harmful substances, some of which may affect sexual functions and reproduction. The quantities of such chemicals were low, but the Consumer Council said some of the tested items exceeded international, national and local standards.

All of them try to find products that use natural ingredients or if you're on a budget use arm&hammer essential products. Even the fancy deodorants in the store shelves are bad for you. All because the corporations have become greedy.

I'm a product formulator and this news report is regurgitating the fear mongering of ingredients that have been going on for years. Yes some ingredients are potentially allergenic and it's all about following cosmetic regulations but the EU regulations are different from Japan or US. Parabens, really?! Which parabens are you referring too? Parabens used in cosmetics have been around for decades and are often less the .5% of the entire product formula. Just because some ingredient may be carcinogenic in animals doesn't necessarily mean it's the same for humans. Plus the amounts of these ingredients used in lab testing for animals are in very high concentration and in are sometimes fed to the animals versus topically applied. Please understand how science works. Linalool and limonene are molecules found in lemon and lemongrass and lavender essential oils too which are classified as volatile organic compounds VOCs. EU regulations require brands to include potential fragrance allergens in the ingredient list for customers with allergies to such molecules. The US and other countries do not but it doesn't necessarily mean they're intentionally deceiving their consumers.

If these are the levels in Hong-Kong, i can't image how toxic these would be in India!
Best is to stay away from the social media hype and stay off of styling that everyone does!
    stay natural, that's the best.

Look up who owns most of the hair products in your local stores black rock. All hair products are next to each other shampoo, conditioner, gel, hair spray and in one end hair regrowth products its not a coincidence. Try to find natural hair products forget about the smell just focus on not going bald or having a skin disease or cancer

BlackRock? BlackRock is an investment firm, owning shares in almost all listed companies, so obviously they will be co-owners of almost any product on the market, not just hair care products.
However, specifically, you may be thinking about Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble, two large consumer products and healthcare products companies. BlackRock owns about 6% of Procter & Gamble, and 6% of Johnson & Johnson.
