    this is absolutely the worst way of "repairing" headphones. the sound comes out terrible due to the lack of solder. and with a simple pull your cables come lose again.

    No soldering the wires? What kind of a joke is this supposed to be?

    • @rogue_spirit
      @rogue_spirit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Burning the wires tips removes the protective layer so they become conductive and you can use that spare jack metal pins to connect them as normal wires.

    • @MosoKaiser
      @MosoKaiser 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rogue_spirit Sure, it does, but just tying the wire ends to the soldering tabs won't make any sort of a reliable connection. Sound constantly cutting out sooner or later is to be expected. A plug with screws for attaching the wire ends would make a proper connection, but the one shown used in the video is just a regular kind that needs soldering.

    Pro tip : buy a audio jack extender so if it broke you just have to unplug it and use the earphones/headset jack and your headset/earphones will last 2x longer

    • @imnotbeluga007
      @imnotbeluga007 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not just 2x. If you're using your headphones well, even 3x or more is possible!
      Don't even use an extender, just add a female audio jack (if you have headset style headphones like me), but if you have wired earbuds, you're out of luck.

      @@imnotbeluga007 whats the difference between adapter and female audio jack?

    • @imnotbeluga007
      @imnotbeluga007 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HazzDann Depends on what adapter you thought of. Adapters usually convert one type of signal to another, like Apple's dongles.
      If it has a small (3.5mm) hole, it's a female audio jack. Like in nature, every male has a pointy thing and every female has a hole for said male thing.

    There is every possibility of any or all of the wires inside the plug coming undone or touching each other. It would be better to pull small plastic sleeves over the points of contact to prevent this. And soldering is the best and also long lasting.

      Many times the wiring of the heaphones is different from the connector that you used. I had this kind of issue.
      What you can do is use a connector from a similiar heaphone (same model for example).
      Maybe even you soldered the wires in the wrong position thus making the speakers move in the worng direction (to solve that swap + and - in both sides).
      And could be the fact that you grounded it incorrectly and thus making some voltages jump where they werent supposed to go, or even you connector isnt compatible with your device (some audio jacks are shorter and some are longer).

      @sri balaji it depends on the equipments you are using, I used a broad tip soldering pencil, so it was quite difficult to solder on such small part. But in the end it works fine.I am sure you won't able to fix an earphone with microphone with the same 3.5 jack used in the video. The connection of microphone ones is different.
