Very elegant. Much better than the 'seal belly-landing on deck' technique we see everywhere else. The other plus, is that the paddle stays in your hand the whole time, ready to hightail out of there ( like if you were in the surf ). Note: I now remember doing this instinctively one time, but had forgotten about it!
@@TekliDragon Hawaii ( Kauai ). ...The seal belly landing I was referring to is when the paddler, having righted the canoe, lands on his stomach diagonally across the footwell area, following a flutter kick underwater ( from either sides ). I like the move of going to the corner by the rear iako, and pressing down with the arms, instead.
