This is exactly what Nickboay was talking about in his recent video. It was similarly depressing seeing a tiny omni raptor unable to feed itself into adulthood without literal constant management. I hope that the saving grace is that herbivore bodies contain way way WAAAAY more food value. Haven't seen that yet
Food values definitely need to be adjusted still even with the new patch. My 70% dilo ate an untouched cera body down to exposed organs in just a few bites
It's just as bad for herbivores x] my teno ate two entire trees full of papayas to get 20-ish% diet and about half food. But, perfect diet is now 33% of each, not 100%, so it's less bad than it appears
Yea, i hope devs don't jump to dismiss the changes because community look at it badly right now it's a HUGE step in good direction honestly it finally feels more like survival game constantly looking for food if you wanna better diet, but if you wanna chill you still can do it
Still frustrating, especially during growth. Hopefully the new system makes herbivore more balanced. Although diets are the least of teno’s problems>;]
Turkish put a lot of insight into his most recent two videos about diets. The values seem lower but there's a lot of hidden values that aren't shown directly, meaning 33% of a hex is worth what 100% was previously. The organs are all giving a flat rate of 20% diet when they should be giving more, and that's a glitch. You're better off going for the meat rather than the organs rn, or just straight up AI. Filling two full hexes to 100% will net the same growth rate as live branches perfect diet. At least for carnivores. A genuine perfect diet can reach up to 300% growth rate as showcased in Turkish's videos.
So diets have been reworked this patch so the info is inaccurate now, but shortly after this video was posted I adjusted my strategy and I had a much easier time
Honestly I had a pretty great time as a Dilo today, new diets are way better than the old ones but they really need to increase the food values of AI. Also my game runs the same as it used to, I don't really get many drops though might be because of my PC specs, I'd reccomend having The Isle installed on an NVME and using a graphics card that has 8GB or more VRAM, I don't think regular ram needs to be mentioned but I'll say minimum po 16GB just in case, and for the processor a 6 core one is ideal. My specs are RX6750XT 12GB, 32GB of 3600MHz Ram, Ryzen 5 5600x and an NVME SSD and I get 45FPS at worst, though I have AFMF2 Frame gen on so even 45fps feels like a smooth 60+ And I play at 1080p highest possible settings with lumen on. I'm saying all this because it might be helpful to someone.
Its not really the specs or anything like that.. I had similar stutter on the last hoard test but works fine on the live servers. And as expected when the then current hoard test went to live, those stutters magically went away.
well i hope the performance on the live branch gets better when they drop the update, cause i cant play without dropping from 70fps down to 10fps. So i kinda stop playing for now. Also how do i fix my bucking? cant find the the footage what i have to delete (if it was "config folder" i cant find it/it doenst exist)

yeah this horde test is definitely something that can be discussed. As with my Teno I was going through so many plants and getting so little diet. Despite being in a patrol my growth started to decrease for some reason, never getting to perfect. Despite having all of the nutrients, tho that could just be side effect of how diets were implemented here.
No, herbivores really are herbalists now. They collect plants like in Skyrim. The whole freaking bush of diets? Tap grab once and the bush disappears. Congratulation, you have harvested one ingredient, proceed to the next one please. Oh, you wanted a diet from that? Best I can do is 2% to your carbs, enjoy.
Your not getting less diet, you getting around the same amount its just that the new mechanic is your stomach grow with you and so does your diet storage to which is why when you fill up in diets as a youngling your diets drain so fast because you are growing fast due to your growth boost so that means your capacity is increase so that percentage looks like its going down fast but its just your stomach and diet capacity increasing fast as your growing which is another reason why your diet will be at like 100% and then decrease to like 77% in like a split second its just because of the new system. Turkish made a vid explaining most of it and he also even said that the new diets last like 3 something hours when your fg or something like that
@@Bigshrimpp8861 well I have been apart of a fair few groups and the juvis definitely struggled with getting diets sorted. Definitely more of a struggle, and with plants lasting not as long on the horde test. for Herbis at least, and carni packs run through bodies like crazy. That and the ping on the days I have been on lead to a great deal of grumbling from those I have been around.
11:30 This is what happens when game devs are too lazy to provide proper explanations for how their game functions. Almost a decade in and The Isle has nothing in terms of a tutorial. No in-game or official information on how things work. And while it may be annoying to "hardcore" and life long gamers like us, most people don't take hour long youtube courses or study fanmade wikis to figure out how the game they just spent money on functions. They expect that from the game.
Game def needs a tutorial, but I get why we don’t have one yet :/ Like pouncing has changed SOO MUCH! In its first carnation you’d get stunned if you missed the pounce. And now you have to press space to jump off a target instead of letting go the pounce button. The devs aren’t lazy, it’s just things change too much for it to not even be worth writing one up, that may become outdated next update xd

Still HATE that "skid" every time a dino stops moving to turn! It makes sense when sprinting at range, just NOT when walking, trotting or running only for a short distance.
