The first girl came from a marvelous breeder w. 8 dogs, who retired all his females at age 5, and she was my heart-and-soul for nearly 10 more years. He said she was his favourite - he cried when he handed her to me - but he said, "she deserves to be someone's one-and-only." The pair I have now are retired sisters, who by contrast, came from a "facility." They were well-kept to look at, but at age 3, very timid - it took a full year before they began to play or act like dogs. So 2 very different kinds of breeders.

He deserves to be able to live his very best life with his FURever family, who will love him unconditionally, just as he will love his humans. In the name of Jesus, Amen. He’s making amazing progress already, so I believe he has a very good chance of being able to walk and run, if the degree of intense therapy is kept up !! I wish we could get updates on Phelps so we can see his continued miraculous progression. That’s a very very clever name for him too !! I haven’t seen anyone else comment on it yet, and that truly surprises me. No doubt he was named after the incredible swimmer and multiple time Olympic Gold Medal winner, Michael Phelps. Michael himself has also had to battle a major difficulty to get where he is today. Many of you have no doubt seen his commercials on his struggles with depression. He worked very hard and never gave up on his goal of being a winning swimmer, and furbaby Phelps will never give up either, not with all the love, determination and physical therapy help he’s receiving ! They are both big time winners ❣️♥️🐶 🏊 It’s a long shot, but I really hope that somehow Michael Phelps sees my comments and watches the incredible story of this amazing tiny fighter furbaby, who was given such an appropriate name of Phelps ! I now hold every grandson responsible for my injury and not myself for not paying attention to where I was walking or maybe it was because I was teasing the grandson or pulling its tail that made the grandson leave it in the drive. All I know is that anytime anybody ever says something nice about grandsons I’m going to be there to remind them that I hold a grudge against ALL grandsons no matter how sweet or DISABLED they are. 🚫🏂

These SPECIAL babies are so full of love. I was a momma to one of these special babies. She was the sweetest little girl in the world. I never treated her differently. Horse sales over rge US she was right there with us, horse races there she was, in the barn of course she was there every day. She left my side a yr ago New Years Eve. I will miss her sweet soul for the rest of my life. These special babies deserve a chance. Bless this little baby’s soul❤🐾🐾

He is so happy and full of life, and he is such a determined, intelligent, strong-willed little guy who is working so hard to walk. The breeder maybe couldn’t have afforded. The story states the pup was turned in d/t the breeder unable to care for him. He could have killed it, like so many others do. Think before you speak on someone.
@dougd8139 Breeders should consider these possibilities before they start breeding dogs and make sure they are in a position to take care of any unhealthy ones. They are innocent living creatures that cannot speak up for themselves.
This situation is no different from a child or your aging parents. People can’t handle them, so they place them in homes instead of taking care of them. I bet money you’ve had loved ones in facilities that you could have brought home and taken care of them but you didn’t.
@dougd8139 You would loose that bet !!! I was committed to taking care of my mom at home until she died. I also took care of all my animals when they got old and sick and needed special care and even drained my bank account to pay for their hospital bills.
People can say whatever online, doesn’t mean it true. But if you did, good for you. This person wasn’t able to do that so they went to someone who could. I think you need to get over it. I don’t think this puppy is worried about you😂. Maybe you should start your own rescue team, since this bothers you so much.

Yep. That's what I would do as well. Never had a swimmer that didn't go back to normal with a little physical therapy every day for a couple of weeks.
