Personally, I would make every possible effort to locate the owner. I would also want a person to kindly do the same for me, if I happened lose any money.
Too bad there is not enough of it in the world! There was this guy with dementia I used to take care of with no family! His friends used & abused him putting him in a nursing home selling his house! He knew what they were after always telling me they wanted to sell his house! It was was one the worst things I ever experienced in my whole life! Just like a nightmare! I’m not even allowed to see or contact him! 😔
I did, and it did not work for being honest with the people. I spoke the truth and got fired and thrown out of the job! On several job interviews, I honestly told the truth, and they did not hire me because I was too open, so they rejected me. I had seen some workers lied and got high-paying jobs. Even Dishonest President Joe Biden is a serial liar and successfully deceives people. Today I am honestly unemployed and still searching for jobs.

Here where I live, even if the real owner hadn't shown up, the bad guys wouldn't have got away with it that easily, because first, the police would have taken that money as evidence and it could have taken months until it has reached its real owner; meanwhile, further investigation would've been required.

Very nice! I could not imagine the ending and that tells me the story was well thought out and dramatized very well. However, the police are portrayed as dumb. They did not ask any questions but was ready to arrest the girl on the words of the spammers, then they arrested the spammers on the words of the owner. They could have at least checked the money. Honesty is the best policy! ... Finders are not keepers until a thorough search is made for the owner.

Whatever I do is on such a tiny scale, I always say if everyone would just help at least one homeless person there wouldn’t be any homeless, just a good heart helping another heart! I could not imagine the ending and that tells me the story was well thought out and dramatized very well. However, the police are portrayed as dumb. They did not ask any questions but was ready to arrest the girl on the words of the spammers, then they arrested the spammers on the words of the owner. They could have at least checked the money.

What a dream of mine to want to be able to do something for the homeless! Whatever I do is on such a tiny scale, I always say if everyone would just help at least one homeless person there wouldn’t be any homeless, just a good heart helping another heart! My eyes may be changing but somehow I will be able to make some things happen.
