I am making this for my granddaughter in pinks and white. So far it's looking great. Thank you so much for this easy to follow video, I really love the way you teach!!
I LOVE the Catherine Wheel pattern. I had a couple issues that perhaps others have encountered. First, the foundation line kept twisting, made it hard for me to do the stitches. Solved the problem by doing one row across of single crochet. That gave the work stability. I then made a small afghan as a top for my ottoman to protect it from little dog paws. I followed the pattern, did exactly as instructed, but it wasn't good. Seemed to pucker. Solved that problem on my next job by skipping two stitches instead of three. I know: Gasp! But it is working. It lays nice and smooth and even, no pulling, no puckering. BTW, I began to crochet again after a hiatus of some forty years. Many wonderful new stitches since then. I still have the second afghan I made. My daughter has the first one.
I like how you explained the edges....I have been crocheting for many years off and on. I also like the catherine wheel...And the edges are the problem...but it makes sense now. Thank you...
thanks Mikey ! such a pretty stitch. I will try this soon. You are such a wonderful teacher. Been following you for a long time. Way before the Crochet Crowd started lol
Just started this pattern...I have only done granny stripe/square patterns so I was a little worried about trying this one. Your instructions are so easy to follow though and it's turning out great. The not changing colors, just using a variegated yarn, but it still looks great.
Is this the same as the original Catherine wheel or bavarian stitch? I'm having trouble doing bavarian square which I'd love to do also heard as of wool eater blanket. Does this take up more wool?
I dont like the slit on thevwheels so I found away to get rid of it. After you do the 7 dc tog, then you slip st on side of dc and sl st in base of dv and continue with the pattern. It makes a round wheel with no slit.
Thanks Mikey, you're a great teacher!
So glad I found you on youtube!
Really wonderful! You are indeed a very good teacher. Very clearly and patiently explained. Thanks a lot for sharing it.

Do you mean on the first row? You could also make a looser chain.
Thank you Mikey , your tutorials are great
You are a good teacher! I am new to crochet and need a simple pattern. This beautiful stitch will have to wait. Thank you💜
Can't wait to try this. 😄

On some things you go too fast and on others too vague but most videos are really good.

Do I have to change colors? I have lots of the lion brand mandala yarn. Could you recommend a pattern that would be good for that brand.
At the very beginning.is the first sc in the 2nd or 3rd ch from the hook?
If I was using this stitch to make a blanket, how do I my last row to finish it off with a straight edge?

Hey Mikey. Love your videos. Is there a way to to the catherine wheel like a granny square?
mikey, I'm loving this stitch however it's slanted. should it be a little wonky and after I block and border will it straighten out?

Where did you get the crochet hook your using?
Thought pattern was two-sided. Looks different on reverse side...not happy! Am I doing something wrong?
Both sides should look pretty close to the same. I'm unsure what you could be doing wrong. Michael
