Love this. I’m obsessed with Edinburgh. Hope to be there before I leave this world. I have 2 brain aneurysms. I’ve told my husband to get me there after I’m gone if I can’t get there before. ♥️
I love Edinburgh. Thanks for your great tour. I visited there in October 2019. I will most certainly return in the future. Best regards from South Africa 🇿🇦 I’m a new subbie. Hope you are well. Love your kilts and historical knowledge. So chuffed to see some of the areas that I have photos of. This is allowing me to relive my visit
Thank you for subscribing. We love what we do and have many more “goodies” in store both in and out of Edinburgh. Remember you can also watch us live every Monday 3:00pm U. K. Time on Piping SCOT Tours facebook page. We are having a lot of heat in ascot land just now with temps above 81 degrees. Whew.
My wife and I spent several weeks in the 90s with an older couple, who we met almost by accident, but became friends. They had a flat in one of those buildings that replaced those destroyed by the fire Between St Giles and Tron Kirk and rented out their spare bedroom in traditional B&B fashion. I had hoped to find one of your tours that covered that part of Edinburgh. I know a lot about the area, but did not know about the fire.
Hello Joe and Mike! I would really like to donate a sum for your services and splendid job of making me feel traveling through Edinburgh (not only) streets again. I´m being guide myself find your channel immersivelly informative and I really want to pay back your tours which made my lockdown brighter, which is really something!
Thanks for this informative and mindful historical tour. I hope if and when I am accepted by Edinburgh University I will have an opportunity to come on one of your tours.
@@joeandmikesvirtualtoursofs8916 Sad news Joe unfortunately I won't be there as planned. I didn't get selected. They said they didn't have anyone to supervise my Research, it's outside their league!
@@dorothygriffiths649 so sorry to hear that. Good luck with your studies and hope you will visit Edinburgh at some future time. I am a native of Edinburgh and these video tours are excellent.
The Scottish people are beautiful people , my neighbors in Australia were beautiful educated Scottish people .Scottish culture was and still is very strong , Scotland is magnificent. The real Dr WHO is Andrew Basiago .
Hi, I never knew they is a St Giles chapel and I’ll be visiting Edinburgh in September to look at it. Thanks for all the interesting stories about this area and I won’ t be touching David Hume’s toe 😁
I’m a new subscriber n this came up on my feed. I’ve traveled to Scotland 6 times before co-19. I look forward to another visit after this blows over. Love the history of your country. I’ve traveled throughout including Orkney. Had Hebrides planned but had to cancel due to restrictions in 2020. Hello from Wisconsin

I so want to make my study a reality in Scotland this September- I can't wait, only God knows! I thank you for this historical tour. I just love this type of thing. When I visited Scotland (to be exact Glasgow) in 2019 I was told by my friend at the time that different colour Gilts represented different tribes or group! Is that true?
Hi Dorothy, hope you will manage to come over. Yes the kilts we wear connect with the clans or families we belong to. Joe wears the Gunn tartan and I wear the MacNaughton.
Was wondering if you would point out the burial site of John Knox in the car park but it looks like the surrounding architecture took priority which is understandable.
This is all very nice and interesting. I just wonder, why you have not mentioned about Gen. Maczek bench which is located in City Chambers courtyard? And why you didn't tell anything about his amazing story and his connections with Edinburgh? As well as many other polish soldiers who stayed here in Edinburgh and Scotland after WWII?
Fantastic! I can't wait to visit this beautiful city

Yes St Giles is definitely worth a look with some very ancient beautiful stone work going back to 14th century. Not to be missed.
