    Thank you for going to the trouble of doing this. Great to see the amount of fine dust making it through the CT Cyclone. There's not enough appreciation for this video.

    We do a lot of concrete grinding which is brutal, start getting power loss when bag starts filling which slows down grinding, would love to see how this thing does with fine dust

    This is the best perfect real world look video I have seen. I have been watching Festool video and you are GOOD. Thanks so much for all the time you put into helping us little guys with home project decisions. I am going to watch over and over for you advise

    Dang, you wrecked the bag. You could have just weighed some sawdust from your box to show how much it equals lol.

    ive heard that its not a real world test if you are hoovering large amounts of fine dust from a box or tub, in real life small amounts of fine dust is produced in a steady stream, i think more of it would make it through the cyclone to the bag.larger chips and dust obviously gets caught by the cyclone, but thats not the stuff that is bad to breathe in. regardless, a cyclone is still a good idea for dust collection

    Nice test. Maybe only slightly worse than a dust deputy but this add on is fully integrated. For the price I’d still make my own that locks into place like this unit.

    This has not been my experience with this separator. Right out of the box I filled 3 bins about 2/3 full with dust from a Rotex w/40grit(in actual use) and 6lbs made it to the bag. Apples to apples, my dust deputy on a metal bucket would take years to let this much past. I like how it integrates into the “ecosystem of Festool” and it might save me a few bags here and there, but the DD paid for itself in the first month or 2 while I’ll likely never recoup what I spent on this thing. The whole reason I got it is because my DD contraption is kind of a hassle to deal with on site and isn’t worth bringing to smaller jobs, but the CT cyclone isn’t effective enough at separating to justify hauling it out either… or replacing what I already have in the shop.

    Glad I found your Vedios they are really helping me I am retired and just doing some small wood projects and have a winter drywall remodel job. Wifes bucket list. I want to buy a system for home use but don't want to brake my 401K. Will the Festool Midi with the upper extractor be good for the home jobs with the top extractor to do small bathroom sheetrock projects but mostly hardwood and shelfs and some cabinets. Thanks. or do I need to at least go for the CT26

    Don. Thanks for doing this test. Maybe I missed it, but did you notice or test suction loss of the CT26 with and without the CT cyclone? Thank you.

    • @AndersonPlywood
      @AndersonPlywood 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, I didn't test suction loss. I've been using the Cyclone since it came out, and I have a 2nd one out in the mill that gets used all day on the Kapex. And I don't have any problem with dust being left behind. Did you see how fast it filled each bin. And my CT 26 is used many more hours sanding than sawing or routing and when I'm sanding I still turn the suction down.

    I just purchased the cyclone and mounted it on my CT36 I put a plastic liner in it and when I start it up the plastic bag line sucks inward is that the normal way it works until you get a couple inches in the bag

      Make sure you push out all the air between the bag and box not having any bubbles in it

      Same as you. I use it without the bag and it works great.

      No I can't make a video of that. Looks like the Renofix grinder is only in Europe and I'm in the US.
