Any stock r34 didnt stand a chance against cars like the f1, clk-gtr, or the f50. The cars were good but not faster than supercars, stfu with this stupid kid shit.
So? no matter how much hp you put in a r34 it wont be faster than a f1 or a clk-gtr around a track. + it will never have the status of one of those cars.

Two of my favorite cars and I’m happy to currently own both of them. I’m in the process of swapping both with bigger engines. I’ve been slowly swapping a 20b into my FD and I’m finishing a RB30 in my Skyline GTR. I couldn’t be happier with both cars...

The spirt r is one great car. Love seeing them at cadwell park with an RE Amemiya body kit tearing through the corners. Also with the r34's flat out on the straights. Never seen a nur though but they are rare so no surprise.

V - Trigger this is special edition with limited numbers (less than 500 unit, cmiiw). they have special features that not available in standart trim. I don't know much about Supra man, so I can't answer which like.

i've owned both. you can get the similar feel of the R34- GTR from most cars on the market today, such as an audi RS3 or the current GTR but the rx7 has a driving feel that is unmatched and can't be replicated. it truly is something special. i held on to my FD Rx7 and o not regret it.
These cars were made with the purest passion for cars.
You can feel their love when you drive one. Hell, even just by looking at one...

This is a video that makes me aware how lucky I am and also how many of you will probably judge me. I used to own a 1st gen back in 1992 just as the FD was launched. Always dreamed of owning one. Eventually bought a 1992 FD touring version in 2008. Had it for a couple of years and let it go (sold it for £3k ouch!). In 2015 I imported a 2002 Bathurst R. A lovely unadulterated car that I only use very fleetingly and now keep in a temp controlled garage. Last year I was scanning auto trader for general pricing and I saw a Spirit R for sale. In a moment of impulse I made a call and bought it. Been sat in my garage alongside the Bathurst. The problem is that to drive the Bathurst I have to have the seat very declined (I am 6’ 5 and a bad back). The Spirt R has fixed recaro seats which make it virtually impossible for me to drive with and comfort. Apart from driving it into the garage I have not yet taken it out for a spin. Looks great though.

Very nice video woke me up memories 15 years ago. The cars look so new that you think they are models 2018. All Japanese cars of that generation are unforgettable as long as they pass. I personally, if I went back to production I would buy one even though it has been so many years!

Besides the pop up headlight, the rx7 is such a timeless design and absolutely beautiful all the time. I think it still looks modern nowadays!
I don't know how they did it, but the R34 is one of the most aggressive looking cars out there... while still being reserved. It just purveys strength, and boldness, and aggressiveness, without having to resort to looking like an alien spaceship, which most modern super and hypercars tend to look like. The FD RX7 is just a marvelous design as well... so timeless. It looked great 20 years ago, it will look great in a hundred years. Beautiful cars, both of them.

The rb26 is imo the best sounding engine ever. Even better than lambo/Ferrari v12s and cgt/lfa v10. The turbo spool+the sooo refined noise of the inline 6.... everytime i hear one I’m speechless

I bought an FD Rx7 and love it, always liked the R32/R33 and R34 GTR but couldn't justify another "impractical car" so I got the Nissan Stagea 260rs with Rb26 engine. It's not quite a GTR, but man it's still fun and it's a car I can fit 5 people in and the dog in the trunk and go for a fun drive. Someday I'd like an R33 or R34 GTR to go with... But that day must wait.
The funny part is at the beginning of the video the front plate of the Rx7 was Torque GT even though rotarys don't even produce alot
i honestly am torn on these as i love the look and aggressiveness of the R34 but the balance and smooth design of the FD is spectacular..

The R34 GT-R was partially designed by real street racers, the japanese Mid Night Club type people who drive down the highways at +300kph. In many ways the R33 and R34 were designed for that environment as well from the ground up. I believe this is one of the biggest reasons for the multifunction display in the center, as a lot of Wangan tuners have always had the need for good monitoring equipment on their runs, both to improve their tuning and to keep an eye on the cars health.

6:55 The R34 is actually 22 lbs heavier than the R33. People claim the R33 GTR is a boat when the heaviest of the Skyline GTR’s is actually the R34 (of all the GTR’s of course the R35 is the heaviest)

Mk IV Supra, Mk III Supra, SW20 MR2, ST185 Celica GT-Four, ST204/205 Celica, FD3S RX-7, Mazda Eunos Cosmo, MX-6 (The lesser known FWD V6 cousin of the FD3S), MX-3, GTO, FTO (One of the worst Mitsubishi coupes imo), Eclipse, S15 Silvia, BNR33-34, DC2 Integra Type R and the NSX are all top choices.

Great video, plus the best description for an RX-7 I've ever heard, underappreciated. I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in America, the particular brand of douche who could afford one, and was young enough to want one places value on name brands above all else. So they would have bought a way slower Porsche that costs nearly twice as much, and is half as fun to drive. At least the GT-R is still in production, kind of. The new ones look like half Skyline, half Maxima.

There is one thing i see alot if the the with the rx7. The spirit r is definetely special but it is not the rarest. There was a run called the SP that was only build for the Australian market. Completely newer and bigger turbos. Custom built intercoolers. Large supra like wing etc. and only 25 of them were ever made.

And no, it is reliable when serviced and looked after on time. Only thing they need is vanos rebuild after 100k. That like any engine needing a timing belt replacement. In the vanos the seals needed replacing. So no, ur wrong sir.

Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A Butthurt are you? Look I respect the rotary, and they can make incredible power from the volume they consume, but still cant deny that the M3 made an incredible engine abolishing their competitors, aka rb26 & 13b. Also, the original rotary design was a German idea again?

I missed my Spirit R until I made my RX8 turbo work reliably. (only took 7 years and $250k aud .)
A turbo RX8 has a better chassis/suspension and turbo-ed right it is more responsive with similar power.
You can't make similar power from the Renesis not even close unless you switch it to peripheral ports. While the chassis is stiffer the added weight nullifies to just being easier to handle but still less capable.

@@otacon4065 They haven't just been made they have likely been owned if even by mazda and nissan at all since '02 when mazda stopped the making the 13b with an 8000 rpm redline (mostly just an apex seal and tune change) instead they made the 4 port with a 7500rpm redline and the 6 port with a 9k rpm redline

R34 is long man, It even only 400 mm shorter than my quad cab pickup truck (pickup truck that has 4 seat) and has same width.
Because the Skyline is a coupe sedan style while the RX-7 is designed to be light not that big and its style is coupe lift back.
The Spirit R is the best car ever made. I've seen a lot of FDs but I've never had the fortune of seeing the Spirit R in person, much less driving one but I know all about it's unicorn status. I used to daily drive an FC for a few years and became obsessed with how the rotary produces peak power so high in it's RPM range. Once you go rotary, you become rotarded
Fellow Rotard, here. I've owned four RX-7s; two first gens (an 12A SA & a 13B FB), and two second gens (an '88 GTU & a '90 Turbo-II). I'm currently in the process of locating the best FD I can for the money. I'm extremely happy because I am about to fulfill a dream I've had since I was a grade-schooler. It won't be a Spirit R, but it will still be an FD!

My favourite video I've watched this month. I'm not quite sure how they've managed to get the very best limited editions of these legendary cars... I don't care if Mclaren 720s, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Ferrari 488, 2018 Honda NSX, 2018 Nismo GT-R are way faster than these on straights and bends. None of them will EVER match the sheer driving pleasure that the FD3S Spirit R and R34 Vspec ii Nur have to offer.
Speaking so confident i assume you have driven all these cars. I think this is a current hype going around these.

+You Thana Nope, I also am dead honest to admit that I haven't even driven the two cars featured on this video. But it doesn't take long to realise that those modern supercars (if you count the Nismo GT-R as a supercar, thats whole another story) feel less involving to drive compared to the R34 + FD3s - even if these two are appreciating in value significantly year by year thanks to F&F fanboys. All these modern cars have one of these flaws:
1. excessive use of engineered fake crackles from their exhausts
2. electric power steering
3. high seating position
4. owners with tacky stereotype
5. heavy dry weight figure
6. too easy to be driven by footballers, kardashians etc
If I had £1 for every Skyline that is stock, I would actually go bankrupt.

I am convinced this was the best era of cars, these two in particular. Nobody is making cars that you look at and instantly say "Hnngg ohh yeah" because they just look so damn good, sound so damn good, had these legend motors, and the performance and handling to back all that up. RIP 1990s, you will be forever missed.
