Yes 🙌🏻 beautiful!!! Great reaction, Queen were something else. Never the same, never boring. Soooo versatile! You get it youngman. Our dear Freddie, Brian, John and Roger. Their live performances were amazing. I suggest 70’s Queen Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow. Much bless and love to you.
4 intelligent, diverse, extremely talented musicians came together and formed my favorite band, Queen. Freddie is either THE #1 male rock voice (or #2 depending on what polls you read). Also, this video makes me smile so much as, for me, it illustrates how different they were. Freddie is dressed for some clubbing, Roger (drums) is dressed for a classy rock star, Brian (lead guitar) is dressed like something out of the renaissance, and John (bass) is dressed in a dad sweater vest.
Freddie was unorthodox. He didn't want to be a rock star, he wanted to be a legend, and he is. Their official videos are what you would hear on their albums. Watch those videos to hear their harmonies and their musicianship. Watch their live performance videos to see their showmanship. Somebody To Love is a good example, both are great.
Yes. Somebody to Love, live at Montreal. I think it's the best performance of all time--and I'm including Etta James, I'd Rather Be a Blind Girl at Montreux, and Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb, pulse concert.
I love this song! We were teenagers back in 1978, A HAPPY song!!! BTW, I paid $9 for my ticket to see Queen, smaller venue, front row near Freddie and his piano! $9!!! 🙂🙂🙂
The guitarist is Brian May, a trained astrophysicist, he built his guitar (the Red Special) at the age of 18 together with his father. Among other things, she used wood from an old fireplace, a bread knife and parts of a moped. To play, he used a 10 cent coin instead of a pick. John Deacon built a 1W mini amplifier for him from electrical waste. This had a large part in Brain's typical sound.
thanks, Stefan! Brian was the "love of my life" when I was 15-16 - sadly, it did not work out for us (lol) -- but, love is love, even if unrequited ....
Brian's guitar was home made with his father when he was a teenager because he couldn't afford to buy one. The amazing sounds were helped by John Deacon who studied electronics... he found an old radio in a dumpster... and used the components to make the famous "deaky amp" which Brian used. That's why Queen have their very own sounds....
Great reaction! This song has been used in loads of movies and TV shows. It is used in Shaun Of The Dead to hilarious effect. If you like the guitar check out Princes Of The Universe - Queen, or Tie Your Mother Down live at Montreal 1981, Brian May does try to make his guitar sound like a voice. You have to see Queen live as well, they have been voted as the best live band, check out Somebody To Love live at Montreal 1981. There is not much diversity when it comes to different voices these days in popular music, most singers are Lyric Tenors, whereas Freddie Mercury had powerful voice, he was a more rare voice type, a Spinto Tenor. He had his own style, people generally see it as sounding very operatic, because of the powerful voice. And Freddie Mercury did create a solo opera and pop cross over album.
Freddie Mercury and Queen....G.O.A.T. There's Queen, and then there are all the other bands in a separate category. Queen was and always will be in the stratosphere...
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT reaction!💕 This song has been used in LOTS of commercials etc... It's also been analyzed/voted to be rock music's Happiest Song! It's totally fine that you like it better than BoRhap.😆🖖 SUGGESTIONS: "WHITE QUEEN" LIVE, ODEON HAMMERSMITH, 1975 "FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS" LIVE, MILTON KEYNES BOWL, 1982 "UNDER PRESSURE" LIVE, WEMBLEY STADIUM, 1986
Enjoyed your reaction to such a fun Queen song that, based on a scientific study, was named the “happiest song on earth”. For some early Queen I suggest you react to Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974.
Do Live Aid concert, BUT not yet until you get to know Queen better...It is considered the greatest performance in the history of Rock music...they blew other groups out of the water and stole the show...BUT don't watch it yet!
Agreed. Definitely have to react to the set list first. Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio GaGa, Crazy Little thing Called Love, Hammer to Fall, We Will Rock You and We are the Champions if I I remember correctly. Right?
Nice reaction...like your enthusiasm...I also love his singing the melody at the end; it's so beautiful because he is considered to be the best vocalist of all time (arguably). The reason that Brian's guitar sounds like it's singing is because he built it from scratch with his father with wood around the house when Brian was a teen. He calls it The Red Special. Brian is a brain... he has a PHD in astrophysics and has worked with NASA...the others are also college educated and each member wrote #1 hits and have been inducted into the American Songwriters Hall of Fame. This song has been voted the happiest song of all time. You must react to: NOW I'M HERE, live at Wembley and SOMEONE TO LOVE, live in Montreal if you want to see the band on fire and Freddie's amazing showmanship!!!!
This is the song that I wake up to in the morning and it is also the ringtone on my phone. It is a super pumped, high energy, fun song. I love it. Thanks for reacting to this one.
Would love to see you do more Queen reactions. In my opinion, the best way to watch them is during a live performance. Freddie definitely had his own style!
There are 3 singers whose voices completely changed what people thought a male lead singer could be: Prince, Michael Jackson, and Freddie Mercury. They completely shattered the idea of what a male lead singer was and really became the driving force for the variety we have today.
Enjoying watching your reactions. You need to watch more, they have so many great songs. Your my best friend, Tievyour mother down, Fat bottom girls, Killer Queen to name s few. Then go watch them at Live Aid - hailed as the greatest live performance ever. Every member of this band are a bunch of intelligent individuals - together they made Queen the best band ever!
If you've ever been to any sporting event of any sport or witnessed a team of any sport win a title, then you know Queen songs and just don't know it. "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions" are staples of any sport and universally known. Vast majority of people just don't know that its Queen.
Freddie is different in that he's theatrical. The whole act - front man - musicians - have arranged this song - all their songs - as theatre. The story is told not only by the words of the song, but by the body movement of the front man - Freddie, by each of the instruments as interpreted by Brian, Roger and John - and even, peripherally, the stage setting. They not only do this on their videos ( all you've watched thus far, I think, is video ) but also live, on stage. If you go to a Queen concert ( yes, they're still going strong, or would be if not for the pandemic ) you'll see this even to this day - the entire thing is joyful musical theatre. Your body can't help but move to the beat. You can't help but smile and sing along. Do some of your reactions to them live, or, if you wish, do the studio version and then follow it up with the stage version. Very interesting to see the differences. And both are fascinating theatre.
Queen suggestion: Somebody to love the official version first, then live Montreal 1981 . gives you a good perspective. Also a young Freddie on piano singing "You Take My Breathe Away", 1976 Hyde Park. Thanks for you reaction. Queen is at the top of my list as the greatest rock bands ever.. R.I.P. Freddie Mercury. The G.O.A.T.... Tomorrow will 30 years since he passed.
I go back and forth between Freddie and Steve Perry for best voice. When I hear Freddie Mercury I think he has the best voice ever but when I hear Steve Perry I think HE has the best voice ever.... it so hard to decide...
If you ever find a way to go back in time, be sure and let us Queen fans know....we definitely want to go with you. lol Great reaction. Brian said, Freddie's songs just almost wrote his solos for him, they were so easy to follow on the guitar. Well, easy for him, that is.lol
The recipe to make a guitar sing is: 1. Design and build your own electric guitar, like Queen guitarist, Brian May, did. (The guitar is called the "Red Special"). 2. Connect the Red Special to a treble booster and the "Deecy Amp" (the amplifier designed and built by Queen bass guitarist, John Deacon). 4 Spend years and years honing your musical talent as Brian May did.
I think after you see some of their early days (live) , you need to check out their best SAMPLER: their 21 minute set at Live Aid (a global benefit concert to help end famine in Ethiopia). You'll see Freddie and Queen grab a crowd that wasn't a Queen crowd (they weren't on the official list till late). ..and maybe a few other surprises. People do say their is a sense of joy in their music...that it makes them happy. Maybe that's what you got today!
Dude, you have to listen to it in its entirety. You were just kinda in and out with it…. Chopping it up….. It’s a vibe. Back in the day we just love to groove with the group or individual. Back in the day the music was different than it is today…. The artists were different than they are today…
Since you love guitar you must react to Led Zeppelin, the guitarist Jimmy Page is absolutely incredible. Considered by many, the best rock band in history.
I was looking thru his reaction list. Not much Queen really. But YES, I want to see his reaction to Princes of the Universe, too. One of many WOWs. SO. MANY. MUST. LISTEN. TO. SONGS 😁😆
Not a fan of the office video. Their live performances of this song are off the top! I think many of their songs are best live, believe it or not. Can't be said of other bands for sure. Innuendo is a jaw dropper like Boh Rhap is but this is only available as an official video for obvious reasons. Enjoy!!!!
I saw Queen and beloved Freddie in 1978 and i will treasure it for the rest of my life.
lucky!!!
Queen 👑 are the masters of transitions!!! Love them so much!🥰😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Freddie is the goat for all time best front man best vocalist
Brian’s guitar, aptly named the Red special, has a rich history all it’s own. And Brian makes it sing, he has a very melodic playing style.
Brian and his father made that guitar. He even wrote a book about it.
Yep! Go for it...Queen calls!

He already reacted to that performance, Hon. (Sadly, it was edited/chopped up a bit; he was probably afraid of YT blocking.)

He uses a six pence coin (pre decimal coin known as a tanner)

The happiest song on earth, according to google!! Great reaction….please check out Dragon Attack, Montreal’81.
Would love to see you do more Queen reactions. In my opinion, the best way to watch them is during a live performance. Freddie definitely had his own style!
Bohemian Rhapsody, love of my life, somebody to love all great songs.
Every song is different. They wrote great songs.
That guitar is a one-off. Unique. Hand made.
There are 3 singers whose voices completely changed what people thought a male lead singer could be: Prince, Michael Jackson, and Freddie Mercury. They completely shattered the idea of what a male lead singer was and really became the driving force for the variety we have today.
Brian May the guitarist is also an astrophysicist so a man of many talents
He was very unique. The most unique voice ever. Yes this song was in many movies
His unorthodox way is that he has a broad range, emotional, and vibrato. He’s just better.
I was in high school then … and we did have a ball dancing out to this stuff. Realize now I was blessed to have lived then
He is just so great!

you hit it on the head - we all used to (still do😂) dance like no-one was watching
More Queen. Listen to somebody to love live montreal
My mom’s favorite singer! Loved your reaction.

You have a good ear for music. you said some truth there regarding Queen and Freddy Mercury. They and HIM together were ICONIC MUSICIANS.
If you ever find a way to go back in time, be sure and let us Queen fans know....we definitely want to go with you. lol Great reaction. Brian said, Freddie's songs just almost wrote his solos for him, they were so easy to follow on the guitar. Well, easy for him, that is.lol
Freddy wasn’t confined by any genre or style of music he did them all and sometimes meshed them together like bohemian rhapsody
You’re right, dances is the 70s were a blast! Like so many other things before people became addicted to the internet.
With Queen, no two songs are alike. And always expect the unexpected

Play this when they lay me to rest!! Wanna go out with a BANG!
Btw. Don’t ever interruptus Brians guitar solos. He wanted it to sing - so it is a tecknique but it was also built (by himself)to be able to.
Dude, you have to listen to it in its entirety. You were just kinda in and out with it….
Chopping it up…..
It’s a vibe.
Back in the day we just love to groove with the group or individual.
Back in the day the music was different than it is today….
The artists were different than they are today…
If this was the concert with kiss then I saw the same show tour was phenomenal
As well as
Somebody to Love
1981 MONTREAL IT'S OFF THE CHARTS
Great Reaction! Please do more Queen thx
It's used in commercials
I am pretty sure it was in Shaun of the Dead too
@@gareththomas9806 OMG that scene was hilarious.
React to Queens Live Aid performance in 1985..
I know this sounds sad, but this song is on my list to be played at my funeral. I love Queen grew up listening 🎶
❤️ Freddie Mercury ❤️
If you have tickets, I'll throw in $200 bucks to go back with you lol
It was in the movie Shawn of the Dead? It’s a British film so not sure if that’s the one you’re thinking of?
Brother I loved this Reaction! Keep it up
Appreciate it
U
You could see the movie “Highlander” Queen made the whole soundtrack - including several hits.
Brian May makes the guitar sing!
Brian May the guitarist is known for making his own guitars.
Notice at some points Freddie is playing the piano with 1 hand
You are Hilarious 😂 and I agree 💯%
Don't stop me now!!! You did the opposite. Just kiddin, thumbs up!
Brian may is the one on the guitar, master
No one was like Queen. They were one of the rare bands who were better live. Check out Somebody to Love live in Montreal. Just buckle up first.
I would pay $200 for a trip on the time portal. Circa '77 school dance. I would be cutting a rug. Hell, I would set that rug on fire.
I am definitely pulling up to Soul Train and letting loose
Don't stop them.
This was in the 1980s but the song was released in 1978. So this was probably 1980,81 or 82
1978 or 1979 Freddie had short hair and moustache in the 80s completely different look.
The album was 78 nov
This was released jan 79
This was the official promotional video
Goat
There’s a lot of tv commercials you might connect with.
Your next song should be. Dragon attack, at Wembley
Too many pauses you don’t have to pause queen
Watch the movie Bohemian Rhapsody and it will all come into perspective.
It is actually, you should watch the Bohemian Rhapsody movie
The recent one used was the DC superhero movie Shazam.
Tickets for concerts were $15 ish back then ....
Since you love guitar you must react to Led Zeppelin, the guitarist Jimmy Page is absolutely incredible. Considered by many, the best rock band in history.
👏👏👏
Hey bud listen to princes of the universe from queen off the Highlander movie soundtrack. Good reaction

Listen to a guitar sing? Try B B King. The story of Lucille.
What are you talking about?
Watch live Aid. I DARE YOU. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER
