I’ve spent the last 2 years downsizing and minimizing my home, wardrobe, home decor and just overall “stuff” and it’s completely reduced my stress. Everyday is just simple yet has so much more meaning than before. I was a little overwhelmed watching this video due to the massive size and remodeling of this project but congrats on your new home! I can’t wait to see the final remodel.

It is not an actual Victorian. The contractors replicated some Victorian details only. It was probably built in the 90s. I too like the built ins though.
haha yea, I've moved to the netherlands (only been here 2 years now) and I'm already pretty used to seeing the smaller homes, when I visit back home in America i'm just like, woahhhh yeaaaa, forgot just how huge most general family homes are! It's kind of interesting how much wasted space there can be sometimes. I will say most Dutch duplexes still look fairly small to me on the outside, since there's not much going on shape-wise other than a single rectangle, but on the inside, its like, totally fine and very roomy, basically just a good use of space.
I love the paneling in the family room. I think your decor choices will modernize it. Sometimes putting too much money into unnecessary reno will not be recouped. I always think of the investment (even if I never plan to leave) You dont want to get in debt or be the most expensive house in the neighborhood. Beautiful home
TH-cam pays very well once you get sponsors, which they have. They also get money from ads, views, and comments; not to mention links in the descriptions. They probably will get a lot of the remodel sponsored as well. TH-cam is definitely their business.

I absolutely love the plantation shutters!!! I'd personally NEVER live in a house that huge...that's a WHOLE LOT OF CLEANING unless y'all are going to have a house keeper/cleaner!! It is beautiful though. ❤👏❤

I think the bedroom would make a beautiful lounge with the fireplace. yanammm, when you don't fill a big house with a lot of stuff, it really doesn't take that much more time to clean. When my guy and I moved from 2 beds, 2 baths in 812 sq ft to 3 beds, 2 baths in 1300 sq ft, we find it faster and easier to clean, because if we have to vacuum or mop, we have more free floor space to move furniture, instead of having to constantly maneuver furniture in a small area. I had to build a set of cheap bookshelves for storage. The living room was big enough that it was ok it took me a couple days to find time to assemble them, and it wasn't in the way. Our kitchen is more open than our old place, so one of us can cook while the other puts away dishes, and we don't bump into each other. Before, only one person could be in the kitchen at a time, and our washer/dryer was adjoining the kitchen, making it that much harder to get chores done. In the bigger place, the washer/dryer closet isn't in the way of whoever is in the kitchen. Also, three bathrooms... Unless they use all three, they don't have to clean all three every time they clean the bathrooms.

The paint alone will be a fortune. Every room is getting a refresh it teardown? Wow. I hate projects, couldn’t do it, but the square footage is great. I personally like the built-ins. They probably will get the upgrades sponsored if they show the work and connect the contractor links to any remodel videos.

They are going to get the work free or deeply discounted in exchange for video posting and linking the contractors. Basically making promotional videos for the companies in exchange for the work on the house. They might even to be able to write off some of the taxes as business expense for making the videos. That’s TH-cam baby.
We purchased our house “as is” condition and it basically needed to be gutted. My husband is very handy and did all of the remodeling himself. It is expensive and very time consuming but we saved a TON of money by doing everything ourselves. And family is usually willing to help out, if that’s an option. :)
The house is already beautiful. Once you’re done with the renovations it’s going to look like it belongs in a design magazine! I especially love the idea of the freestanding tub. I want one so badly but apparently doing so requires quite a bit of plumbing changes. (or so I’ve been told)
They probably did the toilet/shower arrangement due to the bathroom door. Most people keep the shower door closed, even when not in use so it would affect the bathroom door. The door to the toilet would probably be left open when not in use (and yes, the door could swing in but that's less than desirable in a tiny space) so the door to the toilet would interfere with the bathroom door. Either way, it's a beautiful home and will only get better with all of your renovations!
