I took a break to watch his Emmy speech, and I'm all teared up! I was a 12 year old when Happy Days debuted, and Henry has been a joy in my life for over 50 years. Well played, old man, well played.
Please have him back ASAP. Henry is one of the most honest human beings who in spite of having a harsh childhood became such a loving person. I too have had old school parents who would berate you instead of help you fix your problems. I totally agree to help your children, help them, not yell at you on why you failed. Children need to be parented and helped not tell them to figure it out yourself.
What a kind, sharp, heart-filled Soul the Fonz is. Every word he uttered made me feel deeply happy. Knowing a man with these sensitivities exists is redemptive.
I met him in person and he is even more wonderful than on T.V. He's HONEST and DOWN to earth and Very giving of his kindness ❣️. I absolutely love him.... He's EVERYTHING you dream he is but BETTER 💞💗
I thoroughly enjoyed this entire interview! Henry seems like a really warm human! His observations about having a learning disability so young and how it shaped his entire being resonated. I was miserable my entire youth because I was constantly reminded of how stupid and bad I was. Some people should not be parents.
I’ve met several actors thru the years, but only 2 ever had me tongue-tied. I almost tackled Tom in the Burbank airport one time and begged him to come to my city to do a show. Then a few months later I was in line behind Henry and his wife at LAX airport and stumbled all over my words telling him he was my childhood hero. Both were calm, gracious, and genuine in their appreciation for my enthusiasm. National treasures, both of them.
Henry is just the best in every way! His timing is perfect with a comedy line and he also has a lot of wisdom to share. Gave me some stuff to think about as a parent.
I met Henry Winkler at FanExpo in 2005 maybe 2006 in Toronto - the most sweetest man ever! I was all hot and sweaty from running to his booth to make it there on time and he still gave me the biggest hug ever. ❤ Real One ☝️ and wish I could act in a scene with him 💯and had No Idea he had reading issues. He surely has over come that obstacle. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I adore this. Grew up watching Happy Days and always wondered why there was a banner hanging on the set of Arnold’s that said ‘Stacey’. That is my name, same spelling, I realized decades later that is his wife’s name and that may be why it was there? This is my fourth episode watching Tom’s sit downs. His calmness and pacing is so comforting. Thank you for these episodes. 😊
I don't read as much as I used to. But I love to listen while I sew or whatever. I'll be listening to your book after this!!! Ayyy! Btw, I have a Fonzie doll that when you move the little lever on his back, his thumbs go up. He's way up on a shelf. ❤❤❤✌️
I grew up on The Fonz like so many millions and I’ll always hold Henry in high esteem for that role. It’s the icing on the cake of a beautiful career. Thanks to you both.
Henry Winkler is who helped me understand what it was that actors do. I was about 10 when Happy Days started and the Fonz became not only the most famous character on television, but a cultural phenomenon. Anyway, like everybody else, I loved the Fonz. And then I remember seeing Henry Winkler on a talk show or something & I was just blown away by how different he was to the Fonz. And then the light bulb came on & I realized: "Oh, now I get it. Actors are not the characters they are playing. They are pretending to be somebody else." It was quite the revelation.
I saw your new special on Netflix. Just great, I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face. Spontaneously, I take snippets of your wisdom and roll it around with my girlfriends. They think I am really funny. Someday, I’ll fess up.
I felt like I was sitting there at the table, listening and not speaking, and then I felt the loss when it was over, after hanging out with these two and now I have to go home.
OMG. That’s also my favorite Thanksgiving experience. Never thought to fry the stuffing though. Everything else to a T. Although instead of Wonder, I use the leftover dinner rolls and make sliders.
Papa, great INTERVIEWS with all you're guests, you make other podcast amateur and also the pros, like crap including all the late nite shows..........luv ya guy . You are the best in this type of interviewing, like Bill Maher a idiot and blowveating fool.
Dear Tom, please know I enjoy your stand up comedy and may I give a little advice about your podcast, in order to make it more bearable as it is irritating when you are interviewing someone, you constantly making side comments like, "yeah, right, unhuh, mmm, hmm..and it is so distracting when it is best to be able to "listen" without your simple sighs...I hope you take this advice with grace...I think more people would want to listen to the ones you are interviewing..
I love watching their ecstatic joy discussing the Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich. Same!
PS-- Henry was one of your best guests yet. Charming!

Tom, I cannot express how much I enjoy these chats. Thanks for sharing them ☺️
Thanks for having Henry on. The Fonz is about the only one who can pull us out of the funk of this election cycle.
Well, please, don't let us forget about the election cycle. Can you imagine if we did? Just living life? We can't have that

This might be the most wholesome podcast ever.

This is great, and I'm only a third done. Thank goodness for the charmed Henry Winkler. Really a class act, and a lovely chat. Thanks, Tom. 🎉

Tom is basically the warm blanket my frazzled soul needs in order to unwind

This episode made my everything smile. Thank you.
Winklers comedic delivery is perfect
I listened to him on Bill Mahers podcast. Bill Maher couldn’t even keep up. Lol
this is beyond excellent! You two feed off of each other in a wonderful way. Thank you both!

Truly the two coolest men. Who wouldn't want to be either of you? Totally rewatching Memories of Me. Great film
Haha, don’t give me those berries!
Thanks Tom

I bought Henry’s book on Audible bc I wanted to hear his story narrated by him. Loved it!
26:44 “In the 70s you could use your tie for a tablecloth” 😂🤣
I love Henry Winkler. I wish he would be on the series, Murders in the Building. He would be amazing on there.
Excellent idea!
That advice at the end is good

I knew he was very nice but he’s also really funny
Heroes is wonderful; Henry has nothing to regret about it. I have mental illness, it's a lot, and he nailed a lot.
I just rewatched the "goodbye Richie" scene on TH-cam.... I'm a mess... thank you Henry... for ALL those heartwarming memories.
Hey Tom, big fan of your comedy, I might be a bigger fan of you're interviewing skills. That was great! Thanks for that, loved it!
What a beautiful soul. Thank you 🙏 ☯️
I felt like I was sitting there at the table, listening and not speaking, and then I felt the loss when it was over, after hanging out with these two and now I have to go home.
This was a great podcast really enjoyed it
Thank you Tommy ❤ this one got my feelers going
Great interview
I want to say that I loved Heroes, Winkler's movie from 1977.
OMG. That’s also my favorite Thanksgiving experience. Never thought to fry the stuffing though. Everything else to a T. Although instead of Wonder, I use the leftover dinner rolls and make sliders.
I loved Henry in “An American Christmas Carol as Scrooge”
Oh forget it, Happy Days? ❤home❤
His book was great
I'm so hangry for the Winkler Turkey sandwich on Wonder bread
winkler in waterboy is fs underrated lol
I just stuffed a half a loaf of crusty bread in the microwave.....for 20 minutes......anybody want some? I have butter....
This is insane, he's so funny
Henry is a fly fisherman.
Mama Termite can’t wait to see you in Bensalem.
❤❤❤❤❤

The color changing couch is distracting.
