Why is Nadia a stick? I mean nothing on skinny androgynous girls, they're cute af but Nadia is supposed to be FAT. It's right there in the song. Why are people so afraid of casting fat girls??? That said, kudos to OP for uploading this!

I'm not sure what the Korean lyrics mean, but in the original English version Nadia is most definitely singing about herself, and about how people won't accept her because she's fat. She definitely should be played by a fat girl if the song is called "Plain Jane Fatass" and the lyrics say things like "there's a thin girl inside her with 12 of her friends" and "hips that could bear you a buffalo / ass that's so vast it could block out the sun" Plus, if there's anyone who's putting Nadia down in this song, it's not Ivy. it's Nadia's mom and society in general. Ivy's part of the problem, sure, but she's not _the_ problem. And given that it's already so hard for fat girls in Korea to get roles, I actually do think that the role of Nadia should go to a fat girl. They swapped her out with a tomboy, I'm guessing because over there masculine women are also considered "undersireable", but between a fat girl and a tomboy I guess Koreans prefer the tomboy because God forbid a woman weigh more than average.
the irony of not wanting to cast fat actors so bad that they took a character who deals with fatphobia in theatre and made her skinny is CRAZY lmao. like the fact that they took a song called plain jane FATASS that includes the lines "but why can't the fat girl play juliet... well i've played a servant 4 years in a row" and just made it about being ugly (and even included a line about her being skinny!), thus removing a large part of her character (pun not intended), watering down her struggles, and DOING THE EXACT THING THE ORIGINAL SHOW CRITICIZES is wild. plus the fact that they keep the name of the song the same is so 💀
