You know it's a good day when lathrix refers to his build as "something good-guy". Of course, it's a perfectly accurate description!

The whole thing can be called Enthraller Keep. And the eye can be called Enthraller.
For your next build maybe doing a drop craft that flies above the target then drops quickly on top of them drilling a hole through them.
The watcher is a good name but because it’s a castle design I think a better name will be The Overseer
Or how about the Beholder?

Perhaps a disposable doom cram bomber, I havent tried it yet but if you just leave like 25 of em in a hanger after building them the reload could be whatever you want. You could send them on mass, ideally with a bigger ship equipped with anti munition of some kind to maximize the amount of bombers to reach their destination. That ship could be a carrier that also brings them all on long journeys so they dont need a lot of fuel, you could forget putting any offensive firepower on the carrier and just make lots and lots of active defense, I've found this creates a safe zone around the ship carrying all that defense.
The problem with that is that big crams take a lot of space, even when you don't care about reload times. Space that you don't really have on a disposable bomber. You can have disposable, aircraft, or cram cannons. Pick two.
Feel like a particle cannon or a laser in the eye woulda been amazing
I love the build, very quirky and I was surprised by just how well it did in a fight with a crossbones and pilferer at almost point blank range, those crams are no joke up close!
So it surviving and then killing them both was pretty impressive.

"Castle of the Watchers" perhaps is a good name. "Castle of Perception"? Also for extra morale devouring effect add red tracers for the advanced cannons in the eye.
Woooooo more FtD! You can also use an elevation fuse on mortars to make them go boom right below sea level, even on a near miss or if earlier shots left too big a hole.

The way the armor wraps around to the front of the floating turret makes it look like a Beholder. Might be interesting to name it Xanathar.
The eye demands a spherical shield mod. And the whole a lot more mimification, and lasers. I'd call it "Cradle Of Community"
I sure hope you'll get more into grand designs like this, for the upcoming campaign or just in general. The look is awesome and the combat style is really fun !

Since you asked for suggestions, what about building up a proper 'settlement' type structure for your mining outposts like the npc factions have? That would be cool to see from you :)
ya i was thinking maybe each one is just some under water outpost or something... hm nmow i game my self ideas i want to make of some aquotic under sea empire... heavy submarine use with the occasional surface barge thats a power house but slow as balls.

As for ideas for more builds? Why not try a micro submarine? super small cram or advanced cannon with just enough armor and propulsion to get into range, Like how frogs are mostly mouth with just enough leg to get to food.
I think calling it something like "the Eye of Terror" or "Eye of Horus"(/Eye of lathrix) could be cool (and also call back to Warhammer)

Since you asked for it here are some ideas for other weird builds:
1. A submarine that mainly consist of dif aps guns, that gets into close range of the enemy to unleash a crippling alpha strike. This would be quite similar to the cram sub from borderwise.
2. A huge, circular submarine that holds a similar (near) space craft above its head with docking stations. Both heavily weaponized, both very cheesy.
3. A cheap plane packed with sensor jammers to mess with enemy crafts.
4. An atomic bomber. However this craft may require lua controll logic or breadboards to time the drop of the bombs just right.
5. A craft that uses recoil as propulsion. Again this requires extra control logic to work.
I would like to formally suggest you call it The Watcher's Throne, loving the FTD content!
I love this series so much, this game seems like so much fun.
As Baron Recluse looks down from his watchful eye floating atop his fortress of solitude, he admires the cannons meticulously constructed to keep any invaders or even religious door knockers at bay. His handsome emp missile defenses adequate enough to keep all the pesky small flying craft away from his keep while he stares them down as they fall one by one. He has resigned himself to solitude as he no longer cares for the rest of the empire and is content to live the rest of his days forcefully making sure everyone leaves him alone, with enough ammunition to hold off entire hordes of armies. He is the lord of the watcher the terrifying fortress of solitude.

to think I have been watching you since I was in high school 7-8 years ago, and this was the series that is what got me to watch your channel. I will always enjoy your from the depths videos, whether you finish a campaign or not it is always a joy to watch you. I think maybe not for this campaign but maybe the next, I wouldn't mind seeing you phone in a friend and go for a co-op campaign.
Build Idea! Water-skimming beyblades? Optionally they can be submarines that burst from the water near an enemy and start spinning into them.
Love to see this game back in the rotation.
New addition to the list of favorite out of context Lathrix quotes. "The eye needs more armor."
It does feel like it might have been easier to build the castle from the inside out, rather then the outside in. Like building the central keep tower with the dire necessities, then then building the outer curtain walls and towers over the less essential guns and powerplants and all that. Ending up with a nice looking design mixed with the function needed to make it work.
But I do love the idea of a flying castle design and aligns with my feelings that science fiction tends to focus on 19th-20th century ships in space FAR too much when many other systems could be explored like planes, tanks, mechs, knights and even castles! I want 'armadas' of fortified turrets and bastions flying and floating about! Citadels that carry towers to battle and so on. Really explore something new and unique.

Give it some repair tentacles and make it spawn fliers. Give enemies more targets to shoot.
Add a crown on top of the Eye
And more anti ammunition, anti missiles/torpedoes guns.
I know submarines have been used a lot over the different series, but what about one that attacks primarily with melee? Have EMPs disable the targets from a distance, come up from below and fire harpoons into their underside, then have the craft pull itself into them as it grinds them away.

Speaking of the alpha, You're going to love to new things you can do with breadboard. I expect your ships will have dynamic lighting.
-I don't really see the point of mortars. From what it looks like, the shells take so long to reach their target that even a big, slow ship could easily dodge them.-
Then again, it _is_ pretty fun watching a fuckload of CRAM shells fall from the sky onto an unfortunate victim.
EDIT: Never mind, I hadn't yet seen the fight between the castle and the Crossbones and Plunderer.

Really though, I like this thing. Honestly thought it was a Fortress from the thumbnail, but amused to see it surfing. Props for staying productive while cripplingly ill, Lathrix.

Being dyslexic and likely having ADHD your videos are also more brilliant because you really get into playing those games in ways I haven't quite got the bandwidth to play successfully. My personal name for the castle would be Hellfire Keep because, with the mortars, you rain explosive rounds on the enemy.
As soon as I saw "Floating Castle" in the title I knew it would turn out to be a demonic castle filled to the brim with big booms.

I'm gonna make my own head cannon for a story for this so here we go.
For years king lathland struggled to keep control over the waves in his empire. So he thought of many ships to prowl the waves keeping order but nothing worked. For years and years he continued struggling against the rebellion calling themselves the liberators of the deep. So king lathland decided that the best way to hold a grip over the waves in his empire would to be through a vessel of invincible might. A weapon of mass destruction that would watch over the waves keeping his order. He had the largest ship in history built for him a massive floating militarized castle.
Oops I didn't mean to stop there sorry.
This castle would be named castle lathyria and it proved its power destroying a entire fleet of rebels by itself. As he used it he had a giant robotic eye installed at the top of it allowing it to quite literally watch over the waves. As it proved its might time and time again though king lathland realized how powerful it truly was and began looking apon all the waves with a greedy look. And so now the watchful dominating gaze of castle lathyria gazes upon all the world ready to dominate it all!
Maybe call it the Courthouse, since it judges all those it lays eyes upon
Its verdict is always "Guilty".
Its sentence is always "Death".
latrix is one of my favorit youtubers who can both talk me to sleep with his lovley voice and get me exited to stand up in the morning to watch a new video of his.
You could call it "Onyx's Scorn" as it reminds me of a corrupted onyx watch craft.
Maybe you could call it the cathedral? It has the gothic style of many religious buildings and an avatar of khorne floating above it.

Can I suggest (and I am well aware this is pandering to the Lathrixian Love of Missile Spam) an arsenal ship and spotter/flak drones?
One ship with an absolute doomsalvo of missiles, with mixed detection types, but virtually no close-in active defences, surrounded by a swarm of drones carrying virtually nothing but detection equipment, a laser targeter and a small point-defence flak.
You mix the detection types in the salvo (some missiles IR, some laser guided, some radar) to ensure there's always going to be some that aren't fooled by chaff/flares/distraction sticks. And with the laser-guided missiles, it should be possible to set them for hand-off to targeting from other ships in your fleet (it certainly used to be that you could), and if you have a swarm of different drones each doing their own targeting, it reduces the chance that all of the missiles will go for the same block on an enemy and get in each other's way.
As for names for this build: what about the Donjon? It has the literal meeaning of "a castle's keep", as well as being the etymological root of "dungeon"

Add a time or depth fuse to the mortars, maybe like 2-4 meters underwater for that sweet boost to explosive damage
I don't know how effective it would be, or even if it is overly possible, but I remember watching Macross Plus decades back and one of the first shots was a fight... i remember missiles launching from the back of the craft and swinging around and forward in multiple arcs, multiple launchers, so it was a full circle of missiles arcing forwards and forming a massive cloud of missles. I've always loved that sort of image/firepower thing... so something like that? Missiles launching in multiple directions, sides, up and down, on a flying craft, but MANY missiles launching from all sorts of angles and points. Just, utter missile spam. Maybe a big arsed laser/particle cannon or two forwards firing, or any weapon really. probably, just so it's able to defend against itself, a good anti-missile system, or some anti-missile missiles. maybe stagger the firing a small amount? I don't know, you wanted ideas, you didn't say good ideas. lol.

Unless this campaign goes into August or later could you do a spooky campaign with old/unused ships from your old campaigns like the Ecoli and try to redo them in a more undead still (basically have and undead army of old ships) remade and refitted to this modern version
Amazing build! i always struggle for inspiration and your videos help a lot! if you need inspiration for new ideas how about a large veichle with rapid fire lasers, rapid fire particle cannons and rapid fire advanced cannons with visible tracers coming out of a single point, merging all of their firepower in a single megabeam of doom? i tried and it looks amazing.
