The summer camp supporting young people living with HIV

Our annual support camp is helping tackle isolation and boosting the confidence of young people growing up with HIV in the UK and Ireland.
Freedom 2 Be brings together up to 100 11-17 year-olds each year in a place where they can be totally open about their HIV status. Many of them do not usually share this information with anyone outside their immediate family.
Camp gives them peer support, new friendships, confidence and information about HIV which helps them feel in control. It's also an activity-packed week of socialising, sport, arts and wellbeing.
In 2022, camp helped increase HIV knowledge on core concepts by 20% - and four in five wanted to keep in touch with people they'd met at camp.
This year, Freedom 2 Be will run from 1-5 August 2023.
