System of the Down just mesmerizes me! The heaviness of the guitar and bass, contrasting with Serj's beautiful vocal tones, along with the harmonies! It's just back and forth, and keeps you wanting more!! Thank you Beth!!
Such a great song. Like many others have said, it's easily my favorite of theirs. I'm really looking forward to the podcast you mentioned and it makes sense that a lot of people who go into the arts professionally feel like they don't fit into the world. As a creative with ADHD, I know from personal experience and a lot of research that the two are absolutely linked (and I'm very thankful for it). I suspect that the same might be true for other forms of neurodivergence, which would mean that a disproportionate number of people who go into the arts are neurodivergent. And those of us with ND brains certainly have a tendency to feel like we don't fit into the world.
Thanks Beth. Love SOD and I love this song so much. There is so much power and emotions in one song, like SOD is famous for. Keep going and all the best
Beth I love your vids. I can only dream to meet someone who is as passionate about music as you irl. Thanks for the videos that always give me a few minutes of happiness!
“Why do we see artists struggling so much?” I’ve wondered this for decades and pondered it from many different perspectives. I think I agree with my current theory: To be a successful artist you have to effectively communicate emotion, and to do so well, one must feel emotions intensely. So intensely that expressing them is of immense importance to you, worthy of your time and efforts. Artists pour themselves into expressing emotion. Living with emotions this intense (especially the more difficult ones) is naturally a struggle. Extreme highs and lows. Sound familiar?
Well the podcast with all the stats is out soon. It paints quite a definite picture. But it isn't that artists are more sensitive, because there are many artists who don't work professionally who have the "artists" temperament and find wellbeing in music.
I agree that one had to embody the emotions fully and bring them on stage. Almost as if they become the vessel to bring these to the world through art. There is also a very cathartic aspect to it. Often finding a way to feel and express them fully is what restored balance in oneself. The opposite of expression is depression 😊
Great choice in song Beth and have to agree with everyone. One of the best albums of that decade and from the band. ATWA, pogo stick, aerials, toxicity, every song is great. Need more SoAD please. Salutations.
I appreciate this, I was just confused because I'm use to watching the "therapist reacts" videos and this time it's more a musician reacts video. So now the focus is on the sound as opposed to the meaning
I'm up to the bit asking why we see artists struggling. Well pop culture has an extreme dark side. Personally I believe it will be exposed in 2025. A cleanse is coming. I do not resonate at all with pop music. Diddy is a good example, the industry is very evil. On the other hand, I love alternative music. Artists who are about raising consciousness. You can feel them when you find them.
Hey Beth, watched probably 100 videos of yours and everytime you see the authenticity/love you have for the art of music. I want you to if you ever have time to react to the: Danish National Symphony Orchestra “The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly” haha. People would love it
This is possibly my favourite SOAD track, up there with Lonely Day. Their most famous track Chop Suey is good, it's very frenetic but that makes it difficult to sing along to or listen to unless you're in a particular mood. Aerials and Lonely Day are far more soulful, introspective, easy to listen and sing to and they each have their own deep meaning. I can appreciate them fully at any given moment.
En tú gran repertorio no podía faltar la música subterranea y tú gran reacción señorita Beth es tan hermosa como inteligente bien 👏👏🍀🍀 que H.y B. es mi Prrj❤
Absolutely love your reactions/breakdowns! ❤ Your personality seems wonderful; you are extremely knowledgeable in music and you convey your knowledge very well through your videos. Keep up the amazing work! ❤❤
There's a longer version of this song featuring an instrumental, tribal ending that gives me goosebumps every single time. I feel like the song is incomplete without that part.
The overall theme of the song is our mistaken views of ourselves as being individual and isolated from the rest and how we actually are a tiny part of something greater, from which we come when we are born, and to which we go when we die.
I feel like “Aerials, in the sky” is referring to the spectacles that take our attention from the bigger picture, rather than the opposite, but that’s just how I’ve always interpreted it.
This song (unlike many) was my intro into System. By far one of my favorite tracks barr P.L.U.C.K written about the Armenian genocide. You should check out Sky Is Over by Serj when he was doing his solo stuff. Some quite good vocal runs in it. A lot of vibrato.
Life is so short, especially compared to the amount of time the universe existed before you and will exist after you. Why do so many of us waste what little time we have in the world seeking unimportant things like fame and money? Letting down our walls to form connections and help our fellow humans is so much more important and fulfilling... That's always been my interpretation of this song, at least
----- - They struggled with quite a bit of animosity internally between the members... They felt that the lead singer didn't want to listen to them and that he was only interested in his own thoughts and ideas. -----
There are lots of reasons for this, alot of time it's because american vowels help with placement for a certain sound and sometimes british singers sometimes feel more comfortable singing in a different accent. But there are loads of reasons :D
Have you heard Delicate by Damien Rice, but the version with Lisa Hannigan making angelical sounds in the back? Fascinating how singers can make a song feel totally different than the original one th-cam.com/video/dRPwFAoQwxc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZzieaD7KZv5fv_WD
i need to know why stop song, how u can gudge the song with this?... we all know the song.. more then u! all ractioner need to know, u can analyze at finish.. not every 10 second of song.. PLS

Aerials and Spiders always on my top SOAD songs, I love the mood they give.
Love arials...spiders is my favorite vid (question is a close second) the toxicity album introduced me to rock...
🎯💯
Revenga for me above Spiders
@@rykehuss3435 yeah spider's isn't my favorite song, just my favorite vid... question is a close second.

They hypnotize me.
The chills that this song gives me engulf my entire body. The vocalizing at the end draws me and has me joining in without realizing.

This is a beautifully put together reaction. Amazing use of edits and dubs with the music examples. Very nice and fluid
Thank you very much!
Oooh, I've been so long waiting for you to react on Aerials, thanks! 🥰
Thanks Beth. Love SOD and I love this song so much. There is so much power and emotions in one song, like SOD is famous for. Keep going and all the best
This is my favorite SOAD song. It's just beautiful.
I love the fact that his voice sounds like it breaks i don't if it actually does but he pulls it of and sounds great
The deep information you give out is incredible.
When you lose small mind, you free your life
When you free your eyes, eternal prize
one of the best things they ever put out - the album is my fave by them also - loved jet pilot on it too

Serj Tankian is a great singer and this is a great song.

@@BethRoarsit’s not a baseline. It’s a D standard tuned guitar with an octave pedal I believe
System of a Down - Holy Mountains. It doesn't have an official music video but the song is beautifully haunting.
great vid, aerials is my fave song of soad :) serj tankian has a very unique voice.
The intro is actually a Drop-C tuned guitar.. simply beautiful
Love this song. It was my 1st intro to SOAD.
Great reaction, Beth! Would love to see and hear what you think of Daniel Tompkins’ vocal tour de force on “Legion” by TesseracT!
As a fan I can’t wait until someone reviews your material. 👍

Is that the track ARTO, which is at the end of the album?
@@albericozapata4086yes it is
I wouldn’t say it’s a longer version of Aerials, it’s a separate, hidden track called Arto
Its not part of the song, pal
That song makes me go Zaminamina waka waka
Thank you so much!!!
Of their rich discography this remains my favorite track
This is one of those tunes that can NEVER be turned up enough!
Thank you, your a great reactor, SOAD is a great band.
Spiders, Sugar, Soldier Side, Lonely Day (other singer), ATWA
Plenty more to dissect :)
Passei a minha adolescência curtindo sistema fodão, os caras são muito bons

"Question" SOAD❤❤
E pensar que o menino alienigina do clip representaria os tiktokers alienados atuais 😂😂😂
I am shocked and oh so happy you understood what this song was about on first listen. Is it worth the fame if it’s only because you’re a spectacle?
I feel like “Aerials, in the sky” is referring to the spectacles that take our attention from the bigger picture, rather than the opposite, but that’s just how I’ve always interpreted it.
