Can't wait to see this show come back. FremantleMedia, the company behind Family Feud, The Price is Right, and American Idol along other classics just bought the rights to the show.
This version of the show was *AWESOME!* Leslie Jones is a good host and it's nice that they're using an airport hangar to film the show for it's original home on ABC; but I miss David Ruprecht and the Round Robins.
When I started junior high school, I had a crush on a guy named David. When I started watching this, I had a crush on David Ruprecht. So great looking for a guy his age. It blew me away when I found he played the guy that Janet marries in the series finale for Three's Company.
I haven't seen that movie yet, among a million others. Lol. I imagine it came out sometime between Threes Company and Supermarket Sweep. He's not a bad actor.
"The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island" where he played the Howell's son was from 1981, and the Three's Company finale was in 1984, so it was actually three years earlier.
11:45 2 Cake Donuts, 3 Poppy Seed Bagels and 1 Croissant 11:59 You’ll get an extra $250! 12:18 You’ll get an extra $200. 12:43 Clock is set at 2 minutes and 40 seconds, and that’s when Marisa will take off. 12:47 On your mark, get set, go Marisa. Go, go, go, go. 18:03 18:12 18:51 19:00 19:03 19:12 19:14 19:18 19:35 20:13 Think of all the fun you could have on… Supermarket Sweep!!
Oh how I miss this game show so much! I have a feeling that the music that played when it came back from a commercial is the final few seconds of the main theme, is it?
Shame there isn't a bonus required to be paid for finishing the bonus round that quickly! Something like... $5,000 * number of seconds left on the clock = total win. Which in this case, 30 seconds, would be $150,000.
Yeah, I found this sad as to why Johnny Gilbert was retired from announcing supermarket sweep and got replace by randy west, but hey, at least he had an good run of being an announcer of supermarket sweep since the last old decade, and I’m glad that he still an announcer from jeopardy, but who knows. also, David will always be the best host of this game show since back in the day. ( which is the old days. )
Johnny Gilbert is now 96 years old and (thankfully) hasn't retired from announcing yet. He's been the announcer for Jeopardy! for 40 years now (its entire run on television), and he did the announcing (as well as the Big Sweep commentary) for Supermarket Sweep from the pilot episode in 1989 until 2000, when he was replaced by Randy West. It's going to be a sad day when Johnny dies.
There's one thing I don't get, why did the contestants shout the title with David Ruprecht starting with the second season onward? Probably to get a little acquainted with him, perhaps?
And Marisa is happy to be having Rachel be her Partner in front of her hands & nose while Marisa is the happy to be having Rachel be her Team of 2 Girls Partner Girl with her hands & nose!
Yeah in a 50 to 100 episodes per season times 30 seasons of supermarket sweep with a new host sane music and a new market location and other things that need to be changed some most to keep change some.
Well, there WAS a 1991 episode in which another team three - Jeff and Barb - had lots of trouble with the Shopping List and only ended up with SEVEN dollars. Can you believe that?
Oh my goodness, I used to be so addicted to this show! I can't wait to show this to my children. They will love this, and YES....please bring it back!
If you went on the Show, would you have a Girl as your Partner?
Those ladies went beast mode in the bonus round.
That lady with the mustache especially lol.
@@breakfastsurreal5650, what are you talkin about a lady with a mustache?
👍
One of my FAVORITE Supermarket Sweep episodes
$5000 in just 30 seconds? That has got to be THE fastest Bonus Sweep win!
GameShowMike Actually Suzie and Cynthia had the fastest Bonus Sweep win.
Now that's a happy win!
Mark Heying what year was that and how long did it take them?
In 1991 it took them 29 seconds to find it
Anthony Frail Sherri & Christina had the fastest win in the Super Sweep Of Champions.
I Used to Love watching the original version of Supermarket Sweep in some afternoons after school when I Was a Kid!
Just watched this show with my Mom and I got to say, this show is just awesome! No other words to describe it. So glad it's back on the air in reruns

This version of the show was *AWESOME!*
Leslie Jones is a good host and it's nice that they're using an airport hangar to film the show for it's original home on ABC; but I miss David Ruprecht and the Round Robins.
On Leslie Jones' version of Supermarket Sweep, the Round Robin game was still on there, but it was done differently.
Hot damn! That had to be one of the quickest Bonus Rounds ever! :O
I love it when Marisa and Rachel win on Supermarket Sweep. They were awesome

Cats, why do you ask?
I have this theme for my game show called Trivia Time and Randy West rocks : )
19:33, David is very happy!
For an alternate clue for the "E" in "WAFFLE", which is an elephant, Lisa could have said, "This big gray animal trumpets and likes to eat peanuts."
