Awesome reaction. I was waiting for you two to recognize the song. The live version in Montreal 81 is a must see! Queen is just as amazing live as they are in the studio.
I agree with everyone else this song live in Montreal 1981..fantastic must see, and you will discover why they are considered the best live band to this day.
Freddie Mercury wrote this song and he considered it one of his best. Freddie loved Aretha Franklin (Brian once said that Freddie wanted to be Aretha). This song and the way Freddie sang along with how the rest of the band played it has a lot of soul. Also, as everyone before me stated, when Queen performed this song live, both the live performance in 1981 Montreal version and 1982 Milton Keynes take this song and Queen's performance to an even higher level.
There’s a few comments saying it but have to reaffirm that you must do the live version from Montreal 1981. Blows this out of the water and let’s you appreciate just how talented the whole band were and of course Freddie’s vocals are ridiculous.
Todd Mathers Yeah, I agree. The background vocals on the original studio version just can’t be replicated live, and, for me, they are really what help to make this song so wonderful.
@@RMBittner Not only that. I actually think this studio version may be one of Freddie's most amazing vocal performances. It's powerfull and totally inspired. His phrasings and especially his choice of notes is mind blowing (3.57, anyone?). Funny thing is, everybody immediately reffering to the Montreal version makes me feel this recording is grocely underrated.
You should totally check out 1981 Montreal Somebody to love. It's live and you won't regret it. And will completely thank everyone for letting you know about it 💜
Thankyou dears, love your Queen reactions, you are so nice! I hope to see more. I suggest Fatbottemed girls live at the Bowl or Who wants to live forever live at Budapest. Much bless!❤
What can I say that hasn't already been said. You need to go live version next, whether you go Montreal '81 or Milton Keynes '82 you'll be blown away. Just need to pull you up on one thing - Queen were a four piece group NOT a trio!
Funny how we all know the songs....but never knew they were QUEEN songs! Let me say, I include myself in that statement! great reaction you too! Thanks.
Great reaction you guys! so far no one has suggested this song listen to : 'You Take My Breath Away" first the 1976 version with just Freddie on the piano..., then the studio version. I think you'll understand why many... including myself consider him the G.O.AT. and of course the band... Queen! one of a kind!...R.I.P Freddie Mercury... thank you.!
Queen!!! One of my all-time favourite bands. Loved your reactions to this, and Rock You. Please, now you've heard this one, react to George Michael Somebody To Love Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert 1992. For me, it was the highlight of the concert. Especially when the audience sang at the end. Even made Brian May (Queen guitarist) smile.
react to live aid queen .. Freddie Mercurys voice is better live :) check that live is considered the greatest live performance ever and try the song i want it all -queen another amazing song :D take the like
I have been around for quite some time and I’ve heard this song in my head times but like you said I never heard it from top to bottom and by watching you guys react to it you just made me realize that I do like that song one before it wasn’t one of my favorites. But you guys point out everything about a song and when you listen to it that way instead of just judging it by a certain way then you can really enjoy a song and give it a true rating and I definitely like it a lot so I will give it a 10 out of 10 as well ! And I would definitely like to see you review another one bites the dust because that’s definitely a classic and yes that’s by Queen.
Now you know why old people say modern music is shit, because, it is. :) Great reaction. The live version in Montreal in 81 is great, but i still prefer this version, the harmonies on this are astonishing.
I just viewed your reaction and love it! As the majority of the comments below recommend, you MUST check out Queen’s live version of “Somebody to Love” from their 1981 show in Montreal. It is hard to believe that they improved on the studio version but believe me, they blew it out of the water. Freddie Mercury was absolutely on 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Another great Queen song you may be familiar with is “Under Pressure” (they wrote and originally recorded the song with David Bowie). Please react to their live concert version from Wembley 1986, you will quickly see way Freddie Mercury is considered the greatest frontman of all time and one of the greatest vocalists.👍👑👍👑👍👑
The most epic Queen song that yall have heard is We Are the Champions. Got to do that one! And then Another One Bites the Dust, you've defintely heard it. Both of these you may not know was Queen, but you definitely know the song! They are iconic! th-cam.com/video/04854XqcfCY/w-d-xo.html
Not to criticize, but to point out... they're not a trio... there's four of them... Freddie (lead singer), Brian (lead guitar), Roger (drums), and John (bass guitar)... John's not much of a singer, but he's a great bass player and songwriter!
@@thisisdnareacts5237 I figured as much, I just feel like John never gets any love (not from you, but from everyone)... so I figured I’d give him some love!
I disagree lol ....this shows how you recorded at one time ...all together ...one mic ....this shows the precision it took to record . This is amazing in so many ways ....sure the live version is freddie vocals at its best live but wow you can't watch this and not see the brilliance in recording .
Awesome reaction. I was waiting for you two to recognize the song. The live version in Montreal 81 is a must see! Queen is just as amazing live as they are in the studio.
