honestly to me, one of the main reasons is that a lot of beginners are getting shoved in servers with lvl 200+ players and not improving. I find myself getting more focused on the characters and lore as well rather than the game, as I find it more interesting to learn all the neat little facts than get frustrated with sucking at fighting games
Yeah, the issue being that nobody joins pro servers anymore so they all gravitate to opens and it’s infuriating. I’m level 101 currently and its so confusing as to why.
I believe that one of the main reasons is how fighting games work (splatoon, tf2), when you play those games Usually you will play 2 to 10 rounds before going "okay I'm done for the day", And it's not just one or two people, it's basically everybody with all fighting games, people are playing it at different times before finishing it up really quickly. (And there's probably way over a thousand people who play it within that day). Meanwhile with other games like Regretevator people play it for longer(30 minutes to 3 hours usually) which means more people all the time.
As a regretevator fan, I can confirm that I do usually play 1-2 hours. That’s why I always regret getting on that elevator. Why do I play so long? Trying to find updates and waiting until my favorites leave the elevator.
I agree. A load of things happen at once in phighting and thats kinda why its hard to make news on it. It all just comes in 1 bunch instead of a consistent flow of new stuff
i started playing the game in august and phrenzy was happening in that week, so most of regular players were playing phrenzy while new players were playing normal game mode; it was easier for me to actually understand and play the game with people who started new just like me. I am lvl 154 rn and seing begginers in the same servers paired with lvl 200's hurt my soul. The game is already hard to learn at first and nobody would want to get destroyed by some lvl 200 bio over and over again. If they could add a begginer server (which they were thinking of doing so,) im pretty sure it would bring up the player count even more.
I don't play public games because the particles from attacks pile up in full games and it's too much for me to deal with. I can do a 1v1 maybe a 2v1 but getting flash banged with blue and red effects while trying not to die is just way too hard for me. Especially when I'm new and have no clue what I'm really doing. Kinda wish they had it so you could have phights with people around your level instead of dropping you in the game against a level 52 Sword.
problem is there arent enough players for matchmaking so people would get dead as hell lobbies and most of the people stomping in public servers are people who are good but not good enough for pro servers or trying to unlock them
understandable, i struggled with that too and it was skin tearing 💀 but i just threw myself in there and tried getting better, kinda worked ?? its kinda how a bird learns to fly, ykno gotta take that leap :P
Yeah, I could see why people still don't play phighting or why people stopped. But to me, its just Roblox is an everchanging enigma, there's new games or old games that are popular. Phighting being one of the games that are new and *still* in the Alpha stage. When it fully releases, it'll change for better or worse. But as for now, We hope to get a really good community
Personally, I Used to avoid playing phighting even though i knew about it for a long time. Why? Because it was too intimidating. I Was scared of playing bad, and upsetting my team. But when i first tried it, i noticed that most of the community doesnt care that much if your bad or good. I Think thats also a minor reason why people are scared of playing it.
Yknow what could solve that first problem, level appropiate servers. That way, people can have similar skill levels and have less complications overall.
@Tired_Tortilla Adding this has a high possibility of bringing the player count up. Also, there's a low likelihood of that happening, since (and this is based off of my experience with phighting players) they get really annoyed with skilled players, therefore making the level appropiate servers approach makes sense. Heck even if there aren't alot of these servers, that's how the pro servers are as well, this is just for people who want to take a break or are new to the game.
As I’ve found Phighting about a week ago, (from a video! Whoever made that video, thank you!!) I indeed did get destroyed by a bio, multiple times. As well, I tried SKATE as my first Phighter, so it did not make it easier. I’m slightly better now, and let me tell you, it was so crushing to be at the bottom of the leaderboards, every time.
When you say that you’re new Your teammates:trying to make things work with or without you The enemy team:AUTO-LOCKS ON SKATEBOARD,SLINGSHOT,BOOMBOX,SHURIKEN AND BIOGRAFT
@@Loaf_X1 that is real facts becoz that is what i always see when i see someone say “im new” in the game 💀 tbh the game should have made fair games like people with lower levels put into servers with similar levels, but i dont think that’s going to happen.
little cousin part the best little bit in the video‼️‼️💥💥💥 also, these are all pretty reasonable! another thing about phighting is that when you get all the skins, tried all the phighters, and just played the game so many times, it starts to become just the same thing over and over. along with the new things, rocket, slingshot, and a bunch of other phighters are getting a rework too so thats cool. great vid mister dex dextrix :D
As someone who literally just started playing today, I think that the 2 biggest issues I've had so far were the fact that there's so much you need to learn right away that it's pretty overwhelming, and that I thought it was going to be a shooter instead of a fighting game (which is 100% on me the game's literally called Phighting lol) because people likened to it a hero shooter. My first game I was totally overwhelmed with trying to understand everything that was going on, as well as the confusion that my attacks did so little damage. Not that I think the game is bad by any means, after some playtime I'm getting the hang of it, but I'm still bottomscoring and struggling to do anything helpful. I honestly wouldn't expect anyone who hasn't experienced tough games that take time to learn (so basically roblox children) to not want to stick around.
Honestly i agree with these. Especially for the first & last ones. Back when i first played Phighting, i was kinda overwhelmed and thought the game was a little too competitive for me & had to get used to it after a little while- i also tend to get bored & tired after a few rounds. But i mostly tend to think it's because from the lack of updates as well. I can understand why tho. Theres only 3 devs working on the game, & aidn (the creator of phighting), is busy w/ nationals-. The only time i remember Phighting getting more than 1k players is mostly during events- like phestivals. (for ex: the dove vs crow one LOL) Either way, with all the stuff they have planned, im sure somewhere in the future it'll probably get 1k players-. :"))
That bordem part is quite valid ngl. I haven't played the game in a while and honestly other games that had updates were just gaining my attention more. But I will play the game again soon
I think a good way to freshen up the game is like... ways to change how the phighters work. Like, sidegrades. Like... pvz gw variations, sorta. Good way to make playstyles for all the phighters
ive heard the devs are planning on making alternate abelites for the phighters that i hope you would have to unlock by doing a certain action in a match kind of like risk of rain
late to commenting but wanted to say you bring up some really good points! Esp for the boredom, and honestly the difficulty can be insane for newer players to get into. And with pro lobbies being dead 99% of the time, it honestly makes the game harder for newer AND older players. With newer players it's obvious, but for older players its rlly hard to get better at their preferred phighters! You don't learn anything from curbstomping ppl who don't know how to play, and it gets boring SO fast. Good video!
I think another reason is tied with Option 1, as people like the characters a LOT because yeah, they’re interesting but it’s incredibly confusing for newer players to understand how to play. There’s a LOT of things going on in the game all the time, so it’s understandable that they just want to stay in the fandom whilst not actually play the game.
Option 1 is so real bro. I cant eben lie, phighting has taken over my life to tje point where I'll randomly think of phighting during the day, before i sleep, when i wake up, or during a dream but ill never actually play the game because its so hard 😭
IMO, it's the fanbase and the game that could become stale to players. Personally the gameplay loop really feels fresh when I simply do tons of different things but I get the feeling since I had a huge burnout for a whole month before coming back about 2 months later. But yeah, you kinda hit the main points.
Yknow when i started Phighting it was real fun to me, I usually main boombox. When i was starting to get into the Phighting fandom, i started playing the game less and started to know about the lore and yadda yadda. It got stale when i played the game more and more
I think another option is lagging for specific devices or low ranged devices, they should add setting's to make it like lowwr quality, like possibly like Blox fruits fast mode. But Phighting is a very fun game though!♥️♥️
Tbh i think Valk(or creator of this game) need to add training mode or level appropriate server(players with similar lvl), because new players and low level players don't want to fight with 200+ level
honestly atm i kinda like how tiny the game is. it’s not tiny enough where you won’t find anyone playing, and it’s big enough where you can recognize some people after playing some time and have a fandom. the fandom is definitely a problem sometimes, but to be fair that goes for EVERY fandom. replayability is a pretty bad problem but then you can just go into the lobby and talk with people. i’ve met lots of people just from the lobbies and the fan made rp game.
From what I’ve seen, it’s like REALLY hard if not IMPOSSIBLE for some people to play the game like my friend who keeps lagging when zuka says “hop in” and can’t join any server (and mostly cuz it’s hard for new people like me to actually play the game on public servers)
i have such an overwhelming obsession with phighting rn so im probably never gonna stop playing the game, likem anytime i hear an f my brain is like: FESTIVAL? NO ITS PHESTIVAL- this happened to me today 😅
The phighting community is a really big community, but like most of it doesnt really play it (including me.. I play private 1v1s and im much too scared to join public because i think i would get bullied) and i think theyre mostly only in the community for the characters 😭😭 Its kind of weird also. Almost like every few months someone gets called out for something theyve done, and its all on phighttwt/tok,, Like... Ppl yall r so wild sometimes this is the many reasons why people are leaving the fandom
how would you get bullied in public most of the chat just goes silent when the game starts and you get a couple "YOOOOO"s when something cool happens and then people say random stuff in-between matches most of the bad community stuff is outside of the game and public servers are really chill if you know how to play in a team setting well
ngl I find the game boring after playing for soooooooo long it's just the gamemode and you gotta pray to get a "bonus" or 13x or 66.6x for it to feel fun (not saying the game isnt fun it just gets boring after you play for so long) I wish they added more stuff into the game
I agree with the first reason, tbh. The skibidi toilet brainrot is basically just Roblox’s player base under the age of 10, it’s crazy.. I think Phighting as a game could work out as a game itself outside of Roblox, especially with the hype it has rn. Also another reason be that the tutorial isn’t nearly as good as it needs to be (I’m not dissing the devs tho lmao) with all the game’s complicated abilities, ult combos.. you name it. ALSO, an update page/icon/board would be rlly helpful for patches/nerfs that might lead peeps away!! (oh my god why did I just type that out)
I see it as an upside I’m some ways, games can get popular and “those” kind of people could ruin it. I love my tight knit community, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shred of toxicity, but it could easily go down hill if it draws in battlegrounds mfs. Like literally yesterday I was playing and there was a new sub player saying sorry for being bad and like half the server was comforting bro 😭
This reasons are pretty good, but for me; honestly, since the main game leads to the lobby of the.. well, game, there are a few players who like to hangout in the lobby; knowing for the fact that the actual way to get into a match of Phighting is via teleporting to a different game (to prevent lag and deadweight and such). The reason as to why I think of this is due to the fact I've been using roblox studio for like.. 4-5 years and such, in studio, the settings option of the game (where you can edit the icon of the game, the description, etc) there is a button called places and you can create a different game that is still connected to the main game. As I am typing this, there are 129 players in the main game of Phighting yet there are 840 players that are active in said main game. TLDR: The match servers are in separate games from the main game itself
I personally believe its the community, a lot of artists and other people in the fandom don't even play the game, and are only interested in phighting because of the story/lore :3
i think the reason why it still isnt that populated, is because the game had a small fanbase and very loyal one at that. which explains why new players first reaction of phighting videos is mostly of them getting beat up.
0:23 yes EXACTLY phighting has been posted by boggio since 2022 and the majority of ppl that play phighting have lvs that go through the chart. Literally are lv 100-500 and stuff which is of course hard for beginners. Some quick suggestions are nm 1: play in private servers with friends (they help you out with trying new phighters you're consistent with like rocket/sword/scythe and etc but its mostly up to you) nm 2: try to practice out in lobbies of phighting. E.g skateboard (you can learn to master him by doing tricks in lobby just as well in normal maps) nm 3: server hop everywhere until you find a server that is your kind, maps also give challenges to certain phighters like slingshot.) (slingshot is better to mostly play in the ROBLOX HQ map because his E ability can bounce around the map). Tbh you shouldn't really blame boggio its one of the best games ever that isn't some ordinary tower defense of simulator game cycle. They also made huge changes to phighting such as making the phighters damage lower so you don't get one shotted. They added more op recent phighters like scythe. Phighting is the most underated game, and also their group boggio who worked hard on it :3. Mind that you should support their group and game pls.
the things also why ppl stop playing phighting is because its laggy for mobile and other devices that run slower than others probably. It also becomes the same thing over and over once you reach becoming a pro at it.
I think the reason is because the number of players is based on people in the lobby, not at the game. And private servers exist too (a lot of people can only play on private servers). Based on people who are in the lobby, I think it would be around 1.5k usually, since there are few in-game servers.
It’s not that. Roblox had a system in games called universes if I can remember correctly, it basically connects sub games into actual games. That’s how games have thousands of players but most of the action is in the game and there’s only a couple lobby servers.
My sister and I really wanna try this game but i get tremors just trying to talk to zuka to join a lobby (hyperbole but you get what i mean) because everytime i see anyone playing its always players with crazy levels (100+) and as someone who plays MOBA games and have first hand experienced getting matched with enemies who are esports tournament winners i kinda fear the same thing happening
I personally think having under a thousand players doesn’t really matter. I mean sure when you compare it to something like Brookhaven with >500k players constantly active it’s a bit disappointing, but I think even having 50 players is insane. Like imagine having 50 people online at any part of the day trying what you made.
insanely high skill curve / learning curve if that makes any sense I was lucky enough to be put with teammates who were nice enough to not bash on me, but still
I’m not sure if this is right, but when I saw that the game had such I low player count, I suspected that it didn’t count the players who were currently in matches, only in the lobby.
'Few thingz have happened to phighting recently' A few dayz later Zword rework comez out and the phrenzy releazez on the zame day, the 1zt day of the phrenzy boozting phighting from itz average of 700-600 playerz to 2,000
1:08 I want to add that some of the stuff like beginners being in servers with people who are more skilled, or that the game doesn’t do big updates often.. The game is in ALPHA, and I’m pretty sure there is only ONE SCRIPTER for the entire game, I am pretty sure the dev team is small, so yeah :D But hopefully they get the matchmaking stuff more situated because I feel bad for the beginners 😭 I haven’t played Phighting in a while because my laptop is broken :( so I am not sure what’s happening now and THERES NO WAY I AM PLAYING ON MOBILE 😭😭😭 Or maybe I will Idk
I agree with a lot of the points in the video especially the one about 9 year olds, I tried to get my sister to play she kept complaining it was to hard. And big thing is also the skill level required to be good at the game many would rather play a trashy simulator to get that instant gratification
Honesty, for the first opinion it depends. Some players that are around 9-13 are good at these types of games, however some players arent as good at these types of games. So I think that children can play these types of games they just have to be good at them.
I feel like longevity is a major issue. Any form of progression is kind of needed for people to be incentivized to play more. As it currently stands, phighting to new is sort of a game where you experience some phighter, play some matches then leave. It’s sort of a necessary evil to add some sort of reason to grind.
this is the problem for me when it comes to actually playing phighting as a newcomer, I get so nervous to join servers and leave as soon as it loads in don't get me wrong tho I love phighting I listen to the ost and check twitter regularly I would really appreciate if they added beginner friendly servers
For me, I’m just not into that genera of games, I prefer slow paced games with few repetition that just dosn’t make my eyes hurt from the flashing lights. Phighting has all of the above plus pros that beat me up into dust and then guilt opens the door and now I just hate myself
Honestly, this is so real. It is difficult to ecen play the goddamn game without my friends being in the game. Im not even in the discord or twitter or anything like that and im genuinely probably gonna take a break from it until something MAJOR happens
I like to play the game but it gets stale quickly since the only character i can play good with is boombox (i think thats his name tho it may not be cuz u forgoz) since i play on phone i dont have a pc and the only other platform i have is playstation but phiting isnt playable on console😢 Hopefully it gets support in the future
Pro servers have the same people in it and are dead so all the high level people are going into matches with people who are just picking up the game. often times scaring them off (I've had it happen to a couple friends of mine that tried the game and got basically picked on) and I can totally see why. Plus, characters are confusing and some videos on TH-cam that try to explain them don't actually help at all and just stunt peoples progression, making them not want to play really. this is just from what I've observed anyway, it can be different for everyone.
2:19 i dont get bored of phighting even tho ive been playing since the Rave vs Relax Phestival which was... idk like a year ago? and thats kinda cuz me and my friends just like to mess around in private or public servers and make up some silly games inside private servers ofc we dont play daily but we like to hop on the game like 1-4 times a week and play for like 15-120 minutes but i still find the game really fun with friends cuz you can either just talk with them while you play or do some silly stuff like idk 4 support 1 katana or something
I remember when I first got into Phighting, thanks to my friends, and one in specific, in the first few times I played, I had them teaching me and carrying me until I understood mostly of the characters I also learned a few techniques from my friend, which also helped But not everyone has that, and that SUCKS
in my opinion, i agree with your points. the game has barely any updates to it, only ever leaks that dont come out until weeks; if not months. The game has gotten entirely boring to the fact i cant keep up with content quite either.
So um just to say, they only got atound 4-6 people on the team like modling, scripting, and planning and everything but idk if this is true so that might be the answer of why little updates are coming up
I see that many people complain about huge level gaps, and yup it sucks, especially when you have to be in a 3V5 match with the whole other team being level 200+ ( that happens a lot to me ). To be honest, what is the most concerning to me is the fanbase, literally doxxing and telling the others "KYS" about a ship ( I'm taking Medspace and Medhammer out as an example, both are pretty much proship due to Subspace ripping Medkit's eyes out and Medhammer being Criminal x Police ). It traumatizes me a lot that every time I try to join the game I feel nauseous ( call me sensitive or whatever it happens irl :/ )
I really wanna get into the game and learn how to play, but when I joined a match everyone was a lot better at the game then me, and cus there’s such a small player count, there isn’t many new players to compete against so I just get demolished by the other team
Nice video!! :3 i also have 3 reasons why PHIGHTING has less then 1k players 1. Massive level gaps. For suggestions for the game they need to add like pro servers and like casual severs something like that so its fair for new players/begining phighters so they can have fair matches. Back to the point lets say theres 100-300 levels on the ememy team and your team is full of like beginners and you just get instant death by each one of them which is unfair and a REASON why they need add sever option for beginners and pros to play at there own LEVEL and reasons for rage quitting! (I can relate to rage quitting honestly if i get killed by the same 100+ player over and over again 💀) and yes the game possibly isnt meant for beginner friendly?? But itll sure help begineers tho. 2. Fanbase/people Lets just say the lobby and like social. Starting off with shipping like first off ships (social) doesnt make sense like where the FUCK did medhammer came from that ship clearly doesnt make sense and subkit to they are enemys and they both tried to kill EACHOTHER like that shit aint no enemies to lovers bullshit like the hell. Honestly the ONLY ships that are like allowable in my opinion is swocket and hypertana + people dont pay attention to ages and shit. For people in lobby people can be pretty weird like yall probably seen those videos where like people say "a-ah~ s-slow down! (character name).." Like your kinda like making the game look bad or maybe like a character in a ship that people like smt like that your technially making the ship itself bad and the game?? I guess?? Maybe im sensitive but idk honestly and exploiters yes, SOME can be chill and funny yada yada but like they cross the line of chat flitering of yk what i mean which idk how to explain maybe 💀 also reasons why people are leaving the fandom/community! 3. Lag Recently the game has been laggy all of the sudden it can not be that big of a deal really but it you get killed FAST the second you lag yes it could be your wifi or device but otherwise it can be pretty annoying sometimes or i could be dramatic lmao Question: does anyone know why sever shuts down in lobby matches after a few rounds for no reason? Like im generally curious.
I agree with option 2 and 1 on this one, usually lil kids arent that interested in these things and would rather play smth like skibidi toilet tycoon or something instead, and also the very complicated gameplay. My younger brother could only really play sword and boombox because everything else is too complicated for him. And the updates too, even if a youngin' liked phighting, theyre likely not old enough to even have discord and wouldnt have access to the server, since its 13+,,, anyways thanks for listening to my pep talk lol
my personal reasons: 1. system: although yes, the game is good n fun, it isnt able to make a super big addiction compared to games like sols rng or ps99. the game doesnt have any sorta gambling feature or anything, as its pretty f2p imo. 2. recognition: roblox tends to not help out smaller games, leading to underrated devs in the darkness, infact the only time they even helped small ganes out to my knowledge was the hunt, which im pretty sure gave recognition to pretty controversial games... 3. the phandom: the phans r well...weird to say the least... theres quite a tad bit of nsfw involved within the community,, i have litterally seen an r34 gif on tenor of sword n rocket doing it. people obviously wouldnt wanna associate with the "weird fans". there r esspecially people litterally wanting to have "specialty time" with certain phighters (mostly medkit).
As i came trained from tf2 i knew this was something like that, so i loved the game, the second day I played it i was so much better than before, the fourth day i got MVP twice So the game is good, if youre familiar with these kind of games, cause people unfamiliar with fighting games will get frustrated when they get in matches with 150+ level players, honestly i know its some work but they need to add matchmaking for new players so they can play against people their level
ok i’ve come back to this video after phighting burnout and let me say. The ao3 fics of these guys are more entertaining than the actual game. Being slapped in with level 300 million pros, only fun i’ve really had was either role playing jokes in the lobby, meeting friends, or when everyone else in my team was also horrible. i tell you that i did not even improve on my main at all. this game is like a puppy, amazing on the first day, then on the second day it poops everywhere and you’re gonna get tired if you don’t AND if you do keep it cared. TLDR: game needs noob servers because reading about boombox and slingshot kissing is more fun than being murdered by them both in game without mercy also no you cannot just watch a youtube video about how to get good. i tried. it doesn’t work because you get ZERO practice because everybody’s murdering you
It has low amounts of players because it needs more replay ability. You get the skins and level up, and what else? I’m betting there will be more players once they make a story mode, or at least some sort of other goal.
Nah, i think is more that the Servers closed after a few time. [I still liking this Game, i started playing for the Bivekit skin and stayed for everything around there]
The reason I actually got into the game was because one of my friends was over level 200 meaning they were able to show me how to have fun with the game
My biggest problem in the game is the matchmaking, or rather lack of, I'm level 20 and I keep getting paired with level 200's, it's not really fun to keep getting killed over and over by a Biograft when I'm playing Vine Staff, sure, you could say "skill issue, get better", but how am I supposed to get better when there's a 180 level gap? I am currently afraid to come back to the game because of this problem, and since the playerbase is so small, the huge level gaps are gonna become more common and more common until it's a part of the game that you just gotta accept. I don't really care about winning or losing matches as long as I am having fun, but right now, the game is NOT fun for beginners.
Yeah tbh, i had to take a break from phighting at some point. It became boring and just made me mad when i didn't do well in a match.. nowi've come back to it and I'm having a bit more fun. I do like skating around in the lobby though
I think its hard to get into the game. I havent played it much because when i do, i get into lobby’s with experienced players and it makes it really difficult to improve
Ngl its still quite weird to me how jtoh which has 20k members in discord server and still has 100-200 more(somewhere around 700-900) players on average while phighting has 40k members in discord server and only has 500-600 on average Both games didn't get updated in a while either
Uh so uhh someone speaking from the fan base here.. I was ok with the fan base because they weren’t doing weird shit at first, I was okay with the ships too but uhh I don’t anymore lol, (MAINLY BECAUSE OF THOSE AGE GAPS AND STUFF, SO YEAH.) the only reason why I liked the fan base was because it wasn’t too weird at first but now…. Uhhhh yeahhhh it’s getting freaky asf I’m concerned I know something bad is gonna happen 😭😭
Honestly, they should work on a better tutorial. I joined the game around 2 months ago. The tutorial left me confused and I left the game after 30 minutes of trying to figure out what to do. I gave up, but a few days later spotted a youtube video on it and decided to try again.
the general stuff would be its non-beginner friendly matchmaking system and lack of tools to help with beginners getting to the game , the tutorial was great but it isn't enough since Open Servers are BOMBARDED by level 250 - 475 sweats Oh and , optimization . Can't forget about optimization , lack of optimization options for players with bad devices really spoils the experience lmao
oh and i wanted to stray away from using the community as a problem for a long time now , but i can't help it when i keep getting random ass headcanons pushed as jokes on random people or myself , and the amount of discomfort i feel when shippers randomly start roleplaying with me when im playing certain Phighters , its like they completely lost their sense of boundaries or something . Like I get you want to express your headcanons but please make it sound like ur only expressing the idea and not actively shove it onto me because I'm personally just trying to kill the game or managed to kill you ONCE ??? like how can someone be so petty to do that ??? The game is very great , but the fact that the community , ACTIVELY , makes the game discomforting to an extent if you were to join a server that has THOSE kind of players , I'm very sorry for you .
i dont know if i am a new player or not, but i had been playing like 5 games in total with my friends in private servers before going to public servers and i was pretty good at public servers. i cant tell if this is just beginners luck but some new players probably get good within a short timeframe. (i use pc btw if anyone asks) i completely forgot why i made this while writing this
i think a big part of your performance depends on whose on your team. you can be godly at the game and still be picked on if your team sucks and vise versa. this or i'm over analyzing and you're just good at phighting
probably the lack of progression and content you get all the phighters and everything you need and thats it to have a good game with players coming back theres gotta be a grind for the players to do yeah sure you could say skins but thats just visuals
the only way phighting gets to 1k+ or 2k+ is from phrenzies or phestivals. People would quit for some time then a Phrenzy/Phestival comes out and they come back. I've seen the game reach 2k+ on today's Phrenzy.
Hi, phighting fan here. If u want to get better at the game, get a friend who is preferably also a beginner and a private server. It makes it way easier.
1:30 sorry for that overwhelmingly insane voice crack I basically just started puberty

honestly to me, one of the main reasons is that a lot of beginners are getting shoved in servers with lvl 200+ players and not improving. I find myself getting more focused on the characters and lore as well rather than the game, as I find it more interesting to learn all the neat little facts than get frustrated with sucking at fighting games
Yep. When I first played the game, I was in a server with like a bunch of pros and it wasn’t very fun to be always killed every round
Speaking as someone who is level 250 I really hope we get newcomer servers and more incentives for pros to be in pro servers.
Yeah, the issue being that nobody joins pro servers anymore so they all gravitate to opens and it’s infuriating. I’m level 101 currently and its so confusing as to why.
this!! Im more interested in the lores n stuff since its really neat, i also suck at fighting games too so i completely understand your point here
Me personally, u just need the determination to go on, that’s how I learnt.
Number 4: The fanbase.

Erm actually, its the “phanbase” 🤓
Yeah I legit felt bullied when I kept getting killed AS A SWORD mind you, to a HYPERLASER 😭
But it was because I was only level 18…

Fax
Personally, I Used to avoid playing phighting even though i knew about it for a long time. Why? Because it was too intimidating. I Was scared of playing bad, and upsetting my team. But when i first tried it, i noticed that most of the community doesnt care that much if your bad or good. I Think thats also a minor reason why people are scared of playing it.
Yknow what could solve that first problem, level appropiate servers. That way, people can have similar skill levels and have less complications overall.
ranked matches too
the playbase is not big enough so matchmaking would have a bunch of lobbies that arent full
The only problem is being in servers with friends, i think thats why they havent been added yet
@aroissomebodywhoexists Hm, you're right actually. I think that's going to be a problem which is solved by open servers.

(for ex: the dove vs crow one LOL)
Either way, with all the stuff they have planned, im sure somewhere in the future it'll probably get 1k players-. :"))
@@RavennShionn yeah they’ve gotten 1k before, but only on a few updates.
Then a week later it’s back below 1k
Yep
I cant eben lie, phighting has taken over my life to tje point where I'll randomly think of phighting during the day, before i sleep, when i wake up, or during a dream
but ill never actually play the game because its so hard 😭
2 months later and im absolutely addicted to the game
I main scythe and vs💞💞
IMO, it's the fanbase and the game that could become stale to players. Personally the gameplay loop really feels fresh when I simply do tons of different things but I get the feeling since I had a huge burnout for a whole month before coming back about 2 months later.
But yeah, you kinda hit the main points.

I think another option is lagging for specific devices or low ranged devices, they should add setting's to make it like lowwr quality, like possibly like Blox fruits fast mode. But Phighting is a very fun game though!♥️♥️

honestly atm i kinda like how tiny the game is. it’s not tiny enough where you won’t find anyone playing, and it’s big enough where you can recognize some people after playing some time and have a fandom. the fandom is definitely a problem sometimes, but to be fair that goes for EVERY fandom. replayability is a pretty bad problem but then you can just go into the lobby and talk with people. i’ve met lots of people just from the lobbies and the fan made rp game.
From what I’ve seen, it’s like REALLY hard if not IMPOSSIBLE for some people to play the game like my friend who keeps lagging when zuka says “hop in” and can’t join any server (and mostly cuz it’s hard for new people like me to actually play the game on public servers)

@@PlaneTheUhhboomball but adding ball mechanics for all the other phighters would be funny
(oh my god why did I just type that out)
the tutorial is just a placeholder for now and they are planning to make it better later
@@SolarSillySolace the one thing about this community is that half of them are weirdos sometimes
@@Agofizzy Yeah, and also most people are repulsed by how the community loves to ship its characters
i think the reason why it still isnt that populated, is because the game had a small fanbase and very loyal one at that. which explains why new players first reaction of phighting videos is mostly of them getting beat up.
My first play session of the game consisted of getting stuck in crossroads because I didn’t know how to go into a match lol

@@Olliewooood yeah that is a lot actually

Yeah I’m a kid too I was talking about kids below the age of 10
The first reason can sometimes be correct, but there is some 9 and 10 years olds I’ve seen that are actually pretty good at phighting and enjoy it
I think the reason it has little players though is that it barely updates, and the game can get boring after a while

I want to add that some of the stuff like beginners being in servers with people who are more skilled, or that the game doesn’t do big updates often..
The game is in ALPHA, and I’m pretty sure there is only ONE SCRIPTER for the entire game, I am pretty sure the dev team is small, so yeah :D

I haven’t played Phighting in a while because my laptop is broken :( so I am not sure what’s happening now and THERES NO WAY I AM PLAYING ON MOBILE 😭😭😭
Or maybe I will Idk
It probably has something to do with the updates, since I remember there were like 1.4k people playing for the dove vs crow Phestival 😢😢😢😢
Yeah the game only has players for semi-major updates
I agree with a lot of the points in the video especially the one about 9 year olds, I tried to get my sister to play she kept complaining it was to hard.
And big thing is also the skill level required to be good at the game many would rather play a trashy simulator to get that instant gratification
Honesty, for the first opinion it depends. Some players that are around 9-13 are good at these types of games, however some players arent as good at these types of games. So I think that children can play these types of games they just have to be good at them.

2:19 i dont get bored of phighting even tho ive been playing since the Rave vs Relax Phestival which was... idk like a year ago?
and thats kinda cuz me and my friends just like to mess around in private or public servers and make up some silly games inside private servers
ofc we dont play daily but we like to hop on the game like 1-4 times a week and play for like 15-120 minutes but i still find the game really fun with friends cuz you can either just talk with them while you play or do some silly stuff like idk 4 support 1 katana or something
I remember when I first got into Phighting, thanks to my friends, and one in specific, in the first few times I played, I had them teaching me and carrying me until I understood mostly of the characters
I also learned a few techniques from my friend, which also helped
But not everyone has that, and that SUCKS
in my opinion, i agree with your points. the game has barely any updates to it, only ever leaks that dont come out until weeks; if not months. The game has gotten entirely boring to the fact i cant keep up with content quite either.
So um just to say, they only got atound 4-6 people on the team like modling, scripting, and planning and everything but idk if this is true so that might be the answer of why little updates are coming up
they only have 3 people on the team besides music
Yeah they have 3 for the team but more on music specifically
literally every server i join is in the us, which gives me high ping.
despite this, I see tons of asean phighting phans on social media
Ngl I get why they tell medhammer shippers to kys but legitimately doxxing has to be something that made people leave
I really wanna get into the game and learn how to play, but when I joined a match everyone was a lot better at the game then me, and cus there’s such a small player count, there isn’t many new players to compete against so I just get demolished by the other team
Nice video!! :3 i also have 3 reasons why PHIGHTING has less then 1k players
2. Fanbase/people
Lets just say the lobby and like social.
3. Lag
Recently the game has been laggy all of the sudden it can not be that big of a deal really but it you get killed FAST the second you lag yes it could be your wifi or device but otherwise it can be pretty annoying sometimes or i could be dramatic lmao
Question: does anyone know why sever shuts down in lobby matches after a few rounds for no reason? Like im generally curious.
hypertana just that peak frfr
phighting got 1k players active on the phrenzy
I agree with option 2 and 1 on this one, usually lil kids arent that interested in these things and would rather play smth like skibidi toilet tycoon or something instead, and also the very complicated gameplay. My younger brother could only really play sword and boombox because everything else is too complicated for him. And the updates too, even if a youngin' liked phighting, theyre likely not old enough to even have discord and wouldnt have access to the server, since its 13+,,, anyways thanks for listening to my pep talk lol
@@b-r-asil great comment but I lie and I’m in the server as a SOON TO BE 13 year old (in 2 months)
@@Dextrix88 ohh awesum I have already reached the 13 mark lol (I waited so long for that 😭😭)
my personal reasons:
1. system:
although yes, the game is good n fun, it isnt able to make a super big addiction compared to games like sols rng or ps99. the game doesnt have any sorta gambling feature or anything, as its pretty f2p imo.
2. recognition:
roblox tends to not help out smaller games, leading to underrated devs in the darkness, infact the only time they even helped small ganes out to my knowledge was the hunt, which im pretty sure gave recognition to pretty controversial games...
3. the phandom:
the phans r well...weird to say the least...
theres quite a tad bit of nsfw involved within the community,, i have litterally seen an r34 gif on tenor of sword n rocket doing it. people obviously wouldnt wanna associate with the "weird fans".
there r esspecially people litterally wanting to have "specialty time" with certain phighters (mostly medkit).
As i came trained from tf2 i knew this was something like that, so i loved the game, the second day I played it i was so much better than before, the fourth day i got MVP twice
So the game is good, if youre familiar with these kind of games, cause people unfamiliar with fighting games will get frustrated when they get in matches with 150+ level players, honestly i know its some work but they need to add matchmaking for new players so they can play against people their level
I'm still a kid myself yet I find it fun, there are various of phighters and I tried alot of them.. atleast rangers all the time..
@@Churinqz I mean kids below the age of 9
ok i’ve come back to this video after phighting burnout and let me say.
TLDR: game needs noob servers because reading about boombox and slingshot kissing is more fun than being murdered by them both in game without mercy
also no you cannot just watch a youtube video about how to get good. i tried. it doesn’t work because you get ZERO practice because everybody’s murdering you
It has low amounts of players because it needs more replay ability.
You get the skins and level up, and what else?
I’m betting there will be more players once they make a story mode, or at least some sort of other goal.
dont worry with my contribution this game will totally hit new horizons
Nono, you wont get called skill issue, Since most of the time everyone will be nice to you
The game is actually pretty popular now, it averages 1K~ players tho it’s probably just because of the update
@@Spicytofupixels yeah it is
It had 1.7k players and stayed there for 5 hours before being 1.5k @@Dextrix88
Yeah tbh, i had to take a break from phighting at some point. It became boring and just made me mad when i didn't do well in a match.. nowi've come back to it and I'm having a bit more fun. I do like skating around in the lobby though
@@soapcreature WHEN I GOT BORED ALL I DID WAS SKATE IN THE LONBY FOR 2 WEEKS
I think its hard to get into the game. I havent played it much because when i do, i get into lobby’s with experienced players and it makes it really difficult to improve
i started phighting today and it heavily reminded of splatoon...
@@erisperson it’s definitely inspired by it lol
relatable video and the reason why i play phighting is because of the music
This is actually so accurate. Especially how dry the game is help 😭
Ngl its still quite weird to me how jtoh which has 20k members in discord server and still has 100-200 more(somewhere around 700-900) players on average while phighting has 40k members in discord server and only has 500-600 on average
Both games didn't get updated in a while either
Fun fact: there is more people listening to phighting OST on Spotify than people playing the game.
@@CarniemX I’m just gonna pray that a p*dophile doesn’t spawn in
@@Dextrix88 FOR REAL 😭😭
Honestly, they should work on a better tutorial. I joined the game around 2 months ago. The tutorial left me confused and I left the game after 30 minutes of trying to figure out what to do. I gave up, but a few days later spotted a youtube video on it and decided to try again.
I blame Slingshot mains
Fr (im a slingshot main)
That’s crazy
I think another part is how many resources it takes up, so people with bad computers might not be able to play.
the general stuff would be its non-beginner friendly matchmaking system and lack of tools to help with beginners getting to the game , the tutorial was great but it isn't enough since Open Servers are BOMBARDED by level 250 - 475 sweats
Oh and , optimization .
(i use pc btw if anyone asks)
i completely forgot why i made this while writing this
i think a big part of your performance depends on whose on your team. you can be godly at the game and still be picked on if your team sucks and vise versa. this or i'm over analyzing and you're just good at phighting
Not mentioning how bad Phighting on a weak phone that majority of roblox users have compared to a decent pc is a little crazy.
It's def because it only checks for active players in the starting place
@@Axcyantol I don’t think it does
I love the game ngl :)
probably the lack of progression and content
you get all the phighters and everything you need and thats it
to have a good game with players coming back theres gotta be a grind for the players to do
yeah sure you could say skins but thats just visuals
There isnt much time for beginners to get better before the next event... also most phighters have a moderatly high skill floor
the only way phighting gets to 1k+ or 2k+ is from phrenzies or phestivals. People would quit for some time then a Phrenzy/Phestival comes out and they come back. I've seen the game reach 2k+ on today's Phrenzy.
@@InfantryDvN it almost reached 3k which is great
@@Dextrix88 Yeah, it may seem slow but its worth it at the end
Hi, phighting fan here. If u want to get better at the game, get a friend who is preferably also a beginner and a private server. It makes it way easier.
