- A new challenger to the most popular gaming keyboard, the Wooting 60HE, is here! Can the Keychron Q1 HE succeed where many other copies have failed? With Keychrons track record of making incredibly high quality keyboards, there's potential for them to knock the 60HE off the top spot. Is this the best HE keyboard?

Wooting still clears 😄 good video
Pin of shame
bet you don't even have a wooting bruv
i have a wooting 60he, it actually slam clicks like a mouse believe it or not
@@noideratestreams6306 nah pin of pride 💪🏻😤 did u even watch the beginning of the video?
@@ultra_01 it what
yes, but Drunkdeer is the first to come unnoticeably close in performance while also having a better layout and cheaper price. Wooting is only good if you have money to burn and time to waste.
I guess we’ll have to wait for Optimum to actually give a breakdown of the features that truly set Wooting apart from the rest.
yea so true
yep. Dude's insane: he does actual tests on the hardware delay etc. instead of just a surface level review of how it "feels"
@@baIius he had made that video, and a follow up too
Now that my 80HE preorder has been delayed until November. Im waiting for him to review the Q1HE. Based on the results of that will decide if I get a Q1HE over the 80HE. Or I might just get a wooting 2 HE.
@@TheSODA17 optimum seems to not even post video about all the stuff he tests, like he's tested so many OLED's that he never posted a video on such as msi 271qrx
Hi Diamond, I highly recommend checking out the Arbiter Studios Polar 65 keyboard. In my opinion, it is one of the best rapid trigger keyboards out there, featuring a mind-blowing price, an aluminum case, and hot-swappable switches. I was shocked when I didn't see it on your list.
oh shit kayjii
really enjoyed this video. great visual, audio and review/comparison. keep it up!
Nice reviews I have it and love it but still I was looking forward to your review. I just love to watch your reviews!
If you think this keyboard is a competitor to Wooting, you should check out the Akko MOD 007B HE. It's nearly identical to the keychron with the build quality and typing experience. It has rapid trigger, dks, mod tap and has 3-pin mechanical switches on the other side of the PCB in case you ever want to stop using the magnetic switches. And it's only $165.99
AND most important, the Akko software is literal garbage in comparison to Keychron and Wooting
still waiting for ducky to make one with magnetic switches bc i love being able to customize every settings without using any software/web browser
What about the AKKO HE keyboards? - have you tried those?
I would love to get his board I've had keychrons in the past and the build quality is incredible, just a shame it's out of stock on the UK website at the moment, maybe when it's back in stock I will take a look at
Keychron lists multiple approved online retailers on their website that also sell their products. They might be in stock. That’s how I got the Q5 Max when it was out of stock on keychrons site
I gotta say, with how high quality you vids are, i genuinely dont understand how you do not have more subs
yea agree but sometimes hes a bit biased
@@AbovHexanchus-qj7cv I'd rather that (and knowing his biases, which he makes clear) than some high production tech youtuber with fancy editing who just lists off stats and glazes the product for 10 minutes
There already is a Wooting competitor, but most people aint in the custom keyboard scene, so they have never heard about it and its the Akko Mod 007B HE. I have a Wooting two and the Mod007B and i would almost always go for rhe Mod 007B. I played Osu with both and they perform pretty much the same. Sure you can lower the response time at wooting to almost 1ms but its not very noticeable.
☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ You're trolling
Maybe a razer huntsman competitor but not wooting
@@Dubulcle ok bro what ever you say, i can speak from expierience
I want to get the akko mod007v3 year of the dragon because it looks insane, would it be a good decision over the wooting60he?
Nah only Akko keyboard that is really good is the MOD007v3 , year of the dragon one
Could you review the monsgeek M1W-SP HE? I think it's a possible interesting competitor.
Considering the features - 2.4Ghz (1000Hz polling), QMK/VIA support, I would definitely choose Q1 HE, but the price was out of my budget, so I went with V1 Max mechanical switches with Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow (really like them and used them on my older modded K2 v2), didn't like the Gateron Jupiter Banana switches at all. I have ordered TTC Silent Frozen V2 switches to replace Gateron to make it more silent. Also got a set of Cherry PBT Double-Shot Dark Blue/Black keycaps (that comes with Xinmeng A66 keyboards), and I am really liking this V1 Max now.
But, my next keyboard, in two years time, definitely will be based on magnetic switches and 75% layout. BTW, if Drink Deer A75 had 2.4Ghz and good software that would be my choice considering it will be
Comment on the Software. Great: you can use qmk keycodes with the anykey under custom. Bad: the available functions for one key multiple commands are currently very limited. And as you pointed out no way to save the profile or download before fw updates or if you want to go back to what worked after you screwed up by too much fumbling around
I guess I’m confused on the obsession with Wooting. I have the steelseries apex pro mini, and it also has rapid fire, adjustable Hall effect switches. Had no idea it was such a big deal when I bought it nearly two years ago.
Waiting for ya to try out the Meletrix Boog75, because that's a HE keyboard designed by one of the best *custom* keyboard manufacturers (made especially famous by their Zoom lineup of keyboards especially the Zoom75).
wait fr? i JUST commented about how im not gonna get a HE keyboard until meletrix makes a HE pcb for the zoom. i was saying i can't sacrifice how good my keyboard feels for such a small increase in performance, but if meletrix is already doing it i might have to buy soon.
@@bookies24k8 yea, the released the boog75 and they also sell the HE module on its own. Although i wish i have a zoom75 to use the module only
@@bookies24k8 Yeah you can buy an HE PCB for the Zoom75 right now and drop it into the existing case as far as I know.
Nah, Meletrix is an awful company. 2 months with no response from their support team. Not ever buying from them again.
the biggest thing that makes the wooting better is that even if they are the same as hall effect keyboard the performance and response time is so much better on the wooting than on the other competitors like the q1 he or monsgeek m1 he
wooting best in that regard but the board sounds like garbage and needs a replacement case to not sound like a 40$ board
@@PaulBlartGaming still ever gaming board sounds bloated with foam so the sound doesnt really matter, so the important thing is performance and wooting is the one that gives the best out of all
@@PaulBlartGaming I don't think the wooting actually sounds bad tbh
@@maxthememer1780It objectively does wtf. What are people smoking to not hear such a bad keyboard sound
Attack shark also launched hall effect kb, attack shark k85. And it's the cheapest on market currently ~55$ from aliexpress. Would be great to see review
wooting 80he has the new rappy snappy feature and its actually 8kh instead of 1khz, and it sounds better than the 60he one and it has a gasket mount
60% is a baseline MUST if you want to compete against wooting. I have both, but for different purposes.
Wooting for gaming.
Keychron for typing documents
My first custom keyboard that I actually liked was the Q1, now I might consider buying the Q1-HE. It all came back to Keychron
Looks really nice, but waaaay too quiet for me. I buy a mechanical keyboard because I wand loud, satisfying sound.
Could you take a look at the gamakey TK75 HE, Reddragon Fidd, Zuyoa x86 keyboards as they are also clones of the wooting?
we need review on EGG OP1 8K
The Boog75 and Arbor 65 both perform exactly like my wooting and both sound way better out of the box than the Wooting. Yes Wooting wins on software but personally I set my settings and forget about it. So it's no that big of a deal.
No, they are actually a bit worse in performance, the Drunkdeer comes the closest to the Wooting while also being cheaper
@@houssamalucad753 You can't notice an extra few milliseconds. The drunk deer is the cheapest feeling HE board I own out of the 10 I have
Can you use a Lekker Switch in a Keychron HE Keyboard?
The toilet roll ref is crazy tho😂
Is the keychron software on web browser and settings save onboard or does it have proprietary software?
Qmk is available on web or as a downloadable application.
have you tried endgame kb65he?
Will it get an ISO version in the future?
Can you review Vgn Vxe Dragonfly R1 Pro? It's cheap mouse and feels so expensive
i don't know why anyone would want .1mm actuation. just wresting your fingers might actuate them at that distance. also i'm someone that doesn't feel the need for a keyboard like this as i don't play games that need fast actuation and reset. i just play like fortnite, helldivers and sometimes games like golf with your friends or just something simple. i don't play osu or anything. i prefer to have a nice typing feel and higher quality keyboard than something that i really don't need.
Noob
those gps gamers really need that quick rapid trigger ey
I actually bought the wooting 60he for my daughter and we thought it was good. But, she didn't like that it was a 60%. She uses a lot of the missing keys for a lot of games. I just sent it back and got her the keychron q1 he. Oh man, I am sorry for wooting fans. Q1 was far better quality, metal, heavy like we like, wireless, sounds better to us and it performed the same imo. I got another for my wife and myself. I am stock with keychron now
HE switches did nothing for me, maybe it's because I tend to bottom out and completely release keys. That combined with the subpar typing experience made me shelve the Wooting 60HE. I don't really get the hype on it tbh. The Wooting software is really good though.
Try the ATK68, some say its even better than the wooting 🤷
I am sold.
Just signed up for a notification @ Keychron.
Wooting released the Wooting 80HE with 8 kHz polling. Meanwhile, logitech released yet another slow cherry mx keyboard.
wooting still clears because linux support, customer service, and speed of updates (socd literally 3 days after razer announced theirs)
It looks mostly fine
Customs always clear. Just ignore the price.
Why do so many keyboard reviewers type with only 4 fingers? its so scuffed and can usually pick up on the wrist sliding sound during sound tests.
Great that its close to the wooting but it ain't getting me out of bronze :(
I feel like the standardisation in HE keyboard scene is non-existent or very lacking at most. If u buy any HE board right now u are locked with whatever switches company have chosen for this board. I would love the board with custom keyboard feel like q1 he or boog 75 but with bigger range of switches to choose from and good software. Right now my only option is 60he module, tofu redux and jade switches but it's too expensive.
no? almost any HE switch works with the wooting, there are some that do use goofy switches, but their boards are kinda ass anyway
Have you tried the endgame keyboard?
Keep look into atk rs7 pro
bro theres no way this guy mentions its wireless and it has a knob at the end
Just wait for the Turtle Beach Vulcan 2 TKL Pro… (HE Keyboard btw)
Until someone comes out with software that can utilize a mag switch in a way that isn't copying / taking from Wooting there will be no competitor or competition. Since the One and the 60HE and now the immaculate 80HE, Wooting is Mag / HE keyboards. 99% of the "mag keyboard" market is just cloned software with the same features with far worse components.
after sometime playing and competing on a rapid trigger keyboards. The consistency aspect of rapid trigger is ass. Many pro voiced this. IT is great in games like Apex. In cs and val. Oh hell nah
hang on, you're aussie right why using ISO layout?
I love my Wooting module with tx stabs, lubed and filmed Jades o ring mount on Alu case. I have amazing sound a the BEST performance.
Best mod for q1he is lekker switches 😂
the best HE keyboard right now is boog75, no competition
I dont think u got the complains
The only way a keyboard can be better or even to wooting is with features like snap tapping or an actuation point as low as 0.05mm, this keyboard has an even higher actuation point.
It’s really difficult to convince the gamer crowd that a keyboard is better because of its construction when it sacrifices performance.
You are taking to gamers bro, not Hipyo tech
Why does the q1 he actually look tasty. Like the back of it looks like cheesecake and I rlly wanna take a bite out of it
I think its the macro lens on my phone. Really shows off the delicious textures 😋😋
wooting > any other keyboard
Boog75?
wow it is double the price off my ceyboard
Wooting clears massively. Also, the "quality" cope doesn't work.
Akko mod007b he?
Ngl, I found it weird that the review's theme is around comparing to a Wooting as a competitor, yet most of the talking points aren't focusing on actually reviewing the features listed at the start for why people go for a Wooting to begin with. Like I'd want to see testing of the actual rapid trigger functionality and such to actually tell me how big of a gap is this, but instead it really just gave me nothing. My takeaway from the review is just that it's another keyboard that has the feature set which isn't as good as Wooting's, but has better sound and feel, just like everything else trying to copy a Wooting keyboard that is also falling short.
Sounds perfect because that's (apparently) exactly what he wanted to say.
rapid trigger and the functions work just as well as wootings its not even close lol wooting is outdated in terms of quality
@@haydenluke5504the 60HE is also 2 years old the fact it took this goddamn long for someone to beat them, and they were a startup two years ago, is ridiculous.
This isn’t an achievement, this should have happened a year ago.
@@haydenluke5504 "works just as well" vs "is not even close", makes no sense lol

Wooting keyboard is a must for gps games
why would i need wooting for navigation
is wooting best keyboard for geoguessr?
My thoughts exactly! I always keep a wooting keyboard in my car. You never know when a Pokémon will appear nearby during traffic hours!
google maps its fire with a wooting
@@ToroidalFoxCasual It is a waste of money if you buy it for that, but theoretically YES.
the competition is closing the gap. honestly within the next year - I expect the real differenciatior to be software.
Agree, and availability, im not going to buy a keyboard that would take weeks to be delivered if i could have one immediately with minimal differnce price is also a factor as well
i kinda already is software tho, most of these boards just have shitty firmware, the hardware is just hall affect -> ADC -> GPIO at the end of the day
Its almost always software, Wooting has been doing this the longest and has rock solid firmware and software suite, where other competitors have good hardware but can't write the firmware and the performance is dogshit
Wooting is the market leader for sure. But competition is always good.
Thoughts on the monsgeek M1W-SP HE it seems like a competitor to the keychron q1 he
To everyone that loves wooting - Wooting is a keyboard focusing on competitive gamers that need that little 0.1mm of difference in actuation. Most keyboards, if not all, will do you just fine in gaming. In fact, in general typing and the feeling of the keyboard, a regular mechanical keyboard will perform the exact same as the Wooting, and if you make a custom one, it will be even better. Don't look at Wooting just because they are fast, look at all because it doesn't really matter.
I do agree with all points, but don't forget you can also customize Wooting, which is kinda the point. I have one OG 60he, and now I ordered module without anything, and ordered custom case, switches, plate and the foams, and in the end there is little to no difference. I have also 10+ other mechanical keyboards for reference
@realtobyg Im looking for a new keyboard and don't really know much about it other than that HE is like the "go to" nowadays. Don't really wanna over spend so dunno if i should go for HE or mechanical Keyboard. Suggestion would be appreicated if you are into keyboards :)
@@olympen94 It depends on your main use of the keyboard.
If you want to use it for competitive gaming, get a HE keyboard. If you are looking for casual gaming or just a keyboard for fun, get a mechanical keyboard. I can't recommend good keyboards since there are so many that can fit to your liking, but a good start is going to a PC/keyboard shop irl with keyboards on display to test the different keyboards.
@@realtobyg Thanks bro. When i do play i play "competitive" trying to always win my games and rank up but nothing to seriously like trying to go pro or anything. So its kinda both ways, casual games and then trying to rank up and win games in fps.. Feels like mechanical keyboards are a better fit atm because HE keyboards cost 310euro/350 usd in my country and dont wanna really over spend on a keyboard.
@@olympen94 mechanical keyboards are also expensive.
Just look around for something in your price range that is branded and has known switches online.
Just bought it. I'm really excited -- missing out on my function keys has been really hurting my experience for non-FPS games
Using your affiliate link hopefully
Considering I payed another ~200$ on top for an alu case, Gateron Jades etc. for my 60HE to bring the quality, sound and feel up to the level of the Keychron, I would say this is actually a fantastic deal.
Your hand writing style is just beautiful. So jealousy.
never been told that in my life
if you get your hands on monsgeek m1w HE make a comparation, i use it and it is very similar to what i see for keychron for build quality, software looks different tho
u should consider reviewing rakka's pcbs (kbdfans takka60, geon venom HE, tkd cycle8 HE PCB) the tech specs looks to be as good as wooting if not better
Wooting 80HE has 8k Polling Rate 🤓
yup cbf 8khz 8k fps
and 8000hz scan rate which is also very important. Lots of boards claim 8000hz polls but scan at 1khz so it's pointless
@@Yrubully64GD bro what in gods earth did you say “ yip cbf 8khz 8k fps” what would run that a rtx 10990
@@Beenlong the geometry dash mod called click between frames (CBF for short) uses hardware polling rate instead of fps, so 8khz is essentially 8000 fps
@@Yrubully64GD you don't know your shit bro, 8khz is an increment to input lag/smoothness, not refresh rate
qk65 classic, zoom65 v3, monsgeej m1 he, akko mod 007 he, boog75 all are so much higher quality than wooting. Sure, wooting is faster, but the stock switches feel like ass and it uses outdated hardware.
plz try the MOD007v3 HE Year of Dragon
Wooting still better...
what about the varmilo Victory?i own it and its awesome, u should take a look on it
What about the new features Wooting just added?
Great Video! Wooting 80HE clears 👍
To be fair these keyboards are from two different worlds, custom keyboard world with the drive for ultimate typing experience (switches, keycaps, custom mod capability / tape mods, foam mods, RGB mods, thock sounds ) vs the esport gaming world of (counter-strafing, ultra low latency, rapid trigger). I can appreciate both but one “trying” to do the other isn’t really going to cut it. For the record I ordered a 80he back in march (still waiting for it but it should be good) and I built and modded a custom keyboard last weekend (TH80 Pro) which is just lovely to type on when working, so I can see the merits on both.
If you do some research the switch tolerances are better on the wooting if you only consider the default switches each board comes from. Plus all these wooting clones have the same chinesium PCB and worse software.
Obviously you can swap some raw HEs into both but wooting still clears unironically
It still doesn't have analog controller movement, so no controller movement on fortnite which is an insane advantage there (wooting 60he/80he still better)
yes it does
@@DiamondLobbyReviews Can you emulate a controller on it to drive in a car game? Like when you press W a little, the car goes slow
yes
@@DiamondLobbyReviews Nice, sad that it has a minimum of 0.5 actuation point and the software is clunky

Never getting a keychron again personally from my experiences with them. I had a k6 and it lasted only for 3 years. 2 years in it started having Bluetooth issues. and in the 3rd year the battery started to swell!
@@itssmk_ Yikes, corded only keyboards are the way to go in terms of longevity. I've had my corsair k70 for 11 years, had to replace the space bar switch, that's it lol. I find it's a dream to type on now that it's all well worn. I have lots of keyboards but it's still my favorite to come back to

would be cool to see a comparison between the Q1 HE and the Monsgeek M1W HE-SP
is Dynamic key press the Analog feature on wootings keyboards?
welcome all the competition, can be nothing but good for the rest of us.
A very important aspect would be the latency. Other Hall effect keyboards KB's have failed on that front. We need to have tested this too.
All QMK boards suffer from an issue where multiple key events are registered as one per scan cycle which automatically make them unsuitable for competitive use. One person worked on a PR to address it in 2021 then abandoned it. No point in measuring latency until the issue is fixed as even a cheap OEM keyboard can currently outperform a QMK board.
ehh i'll wait another few years for wuque studio to start making hall effect switches that sound like morandis and for meletrix to come out with hall effect pcb for the zoom.
a hall effect zoom75 is my dream end game keyboard, but until then i'll just stick with mechanical switches. i'm not willing to sacrifice how good my keyboard feels and sounds for a 0.7% increase in gaming performance.
Isn't that just the BOOG75? Once meletrix comes out with their own switch I'm sure you'd just be able to swap out the KS-37B they currently have.
yo please make a review for epomaker cidoo c75 . it has 8k polling hz and a rapid trigger. please make it in your list. i'm thinking of buying that keyboard but so little review clouding my judgement. will it be a wooting 80 killer?. let me know man. please man!! please!!
What about akko 007b pc he, akko007v3 year of dragon edition, and monsgeek m1w he? They're much cheaper and not much of complains about them. I'm amased how you missed them, but told about drunkdeer.
Inferior software, limited customizability of rapid trigger and non changeable switches (bc pcb only supports 2 switches, which don't sell separately). Hardware is pretty nice tho (I have both 60he and mod007pc so that's from my own experience)
what about the Akko mod 007b HE ?
