Same here. Samsung “smart” TV. In Settings>General I only see these options: Network, System Manager, External Device Manager, Eco Solution, Accessibility, Smart Features, Start Setup. No “Airplay Setting” listed. Software has been updated, so it’s not that.

Yeah, this might work, but who wants to use the horrible UI on a smart TV? What about doing it through Xbox? Better UI, TV can't spy on you as easily, use your controler to navigate. Using a remote to navigate is the worst. 2 fingers at most to use a remote? Horrible. But thanks anyway.

Hi, Smart TVs got to have Apple airplay feature in order to mirror your iPad. Any smart tv with only Mira-cast / Chrome-cast feature wont work for mirroring your iPad, am I right ?

When I first installed my Samsung TV, I used the remote control to set it up. Did you do the same?
Anyways, my solution is this -> I RE-SET the samsung TV, putting it under manufacture reset (Settings> General > RESET). Once the TV asks me to set up with tv remote control or with iPhone, I choose to SET UP the tv with iPhone by downloading the SMART THINGS APP made for SAMSUNG TV. It takes a few seconds after downloading App that tv recognizes iPhone and I can then continue and finish with set-up. Once I set up the tv this way (NOT with the remote control), samsung tv recognizes my iPhone and other iPhones for Air play (screen mirroring).
To set up Air Play screen mirroring for first time after setting up tv you must go to Settings > General > Apple AirPlay Settings.

My router has a regular and 5g options and I also use an wi fi extender my question is do the tv and iPad must be connected to the exact same channel /device .

Sorry it wasn't able to connect. You could get a cheap roku stick and try it that way. I have a video on how to connect an ipad to a roku.
