    1) you don’t look as swollen to most of us.
    2) you sound really good with your speech.
    3) praying for you.

Shea...I have been through EXACTLY this. It is toxins working out of your body!! But girl, you are doing FANTASTIC. Your healing is right on point. I agree with the retainer choice...it takes a long minute to get through something like this but you absolutely 100 percent are on the road to recovery. I am ALL the way on the other side..2.5 years..I want to say something that you are not going to believe. The memories of the toothaches?..SHEA THEY GO AWAY ! I went through almost the exact same thing as you for 12 years. Even the same teeth as the ones that were removed. Its hard to imagine how something that consumed my mind for years does not anymore. But I promise you are on your way to the same destination. You will be free
Bravo for being brave!! And thanks for sharing such a personal battle. You are an Overcomer❤

Don't throw away the retainer - keep it in case anything happens to the Maryland bridge and you can use it while repairs are made. Always good to have a back up ready! You did a great job taking us along with the process and I know have encouraged many with their dental problems. I am another who has been in the dental world since 1969, have had my share of traumatic issues and you are doing great! Ask your holistic dentist for supplements to reduce inflammation and any residual infection. I could give lots of advice on that, but it is her job to do it! Are you doing warm salt water rinses?

    Hi Shea,
I watched one of your videos when you shared your teeth struggle. It hit home for me. I had such horror dentist stories that I didn’t take care of my teeth. I had such pain and I just struggled with it. I watched your video one day and I decided the next day to go to the dentist and my journey to better teeth health began. I had 2 dental surgeries and had an implant. I’m doing so much better. I don’t know why your story helped me but it did. You’re going to be ok. It may not be instant but you will get through this. . Shea, thanks for posting this. It’s helpful to see someone with your influence be so vulnerable in this process. I really feel for you and your family during this time because the emotional, physical, mental, and financial load with dentistry is immense.
My husband and I are struggling with this same issue. My husband had severe periodontitis that has been eating away at his jaw bone for years. Due to a combination of anxiety, fear, previous poor outcomes, and financial inability we weren’t able to get him the care he needed. He’s lost nearly all of his molars and his jaw is in bad shape to the point where he is not a candidate for implants
We’re trying to take steps to try to get him to a place where his jaw is healthier and get him fake teeth. In total, our dentist and orthodontist projected it will take nearly 5 years and 30,000k. It feels nearly impossible with our situation; as we recently bought a house and found out I am pregnant with our first child.
To see you in recovery brings hope that miracles can happen. I wish you the best recovery and hope you get to eat the biggest burger with the biggest smile sooner than later
    Be well ❤

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I have had dental issues for the last 20 years, ever since I had my oldest daughter. So very similar to your story. I have not been able to afford to take care of what needs to be done. I have 2 broken teeth, one on each side, my four front bottom teeth (just like yours) have many issues and need deeper cleaning in the gums but I’m terrified that they will fall out once that is done. Money causes so many issues in dentistry for patients. I’m so glad that you have shared your story and show understanding and sympathy for those of us who are suffering as well and can’t afford to have things taken care of. My goodness, Shea!!!! You are doing marvelously in such a short time!!!! You sound perfectly normal - maybe not to you, but to the rest of us, we can't tell you have had anything done. But, yes, it does do a number on your entire body. 7 years ago, I had to have what teeth I had left extracted and dentures placed. Unfortunately, the bottom denture has never fit, so there are lots of things I can't eat, but, like you - it could be so much worse!!! Keep following the instructions of your dentist and surgeon. Right now, this entire episode is front and center in your mind. Before long, you will wonder why you waited so long to get things done. I fully understand you don't believe that for a moment, but just wait - you will see. You remain in my prayers. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

My 73 year old husband is going to have almost the exact same thing done within the next year (except all of his remaining bottom teeth will be removed). Now he and I will know what to expect. You’ve got this and I am so proud of you for allowing us to follow along. ❤️👏🏼

My sister had the same thing done at the age of 77. My advice would be though to let it heal as much as you can don't worry about your vanity. She insisted on the bridge being put in immediately and it really set her back and there is a lot of infection that will be coming out at the end so keep taking the antibiotics

Maryland bridges are great you’ll love it, it is what they did before implants and people used them for years and enjoyed them.

Thank you Shea for taking this journey and showing us all about it. I may have to do something like this in the future. Trying to keep it off for now, but like you said seeing you go through it it’s not as scary to me as it used to be so thank you thank you for that merry Christmas to you and your family. Have a blessed day.

"All I want for Christmas is my FOUR front teeth" 😉 You're doing fantastically well from a speaking point of view, if I didn't know I wouldn't be able to tell you had anything going on, nor that you were in pain. Wishing you a speedy recovery x

I’ve always had weird teeth issues. When I was an infant they gave me tetracycline which made my permanent teeth discolored and ugly. I’m now 58 and finally got my two front teeth capped. When I was 8 years old none of my baby teeth were falling out and I had 15 teeth pulled, and 4 of them were adult teeth. And the empty space it created was so uncomfortable that I used my tongue to protect the space, which pushed my teeth out even more. With all that being said, I’m so glad you are getting this taken care of and don’t be too hard on yourself, it might take months for things to get back to normal. Or you might have a new normal. You’ve got this!

Shea, I’m so sorry you’re going through this! The weekend of Thanksgiving, I had a fluke accident, fell, and chipped off both of my two front (top) teeth. It was devastating and has been a journey - still is! Wouldn’t wish it on anyone. You’ll get through this, and I somewhat understand what you’re going through! Sending you all good vibes ✨
