This is my first spring in Japan and I cannot express how amazing it is to see Sakura in person. I didn't quite understand the hype until I got here and all the ume and sakura started to bloom. It is truly spectacular. The whole country stops to appreciate the beauty.
Spent 4 weeks in Japan last year during sakura season and it was amazing. Shinjuku gyoen and Hirosaki were two of my personal favourite sakura highlights.
I work at a zoo here in the US, and we have one tiny weeping cherry tree, and it was just so amazing to see it bloom and to see it in person. I wish I had gotten some pictures.
I actually just got back from Japan last week and saw the cherry blossoms at night in the Nakameguro area! It was beautiful but super crowded which kinda took away from the enjoyment. I managed to snag a few nice pictures at least, hahah.
I've always said that if I ever go to Japan I'd like to see the snow festival in Sapporo, but I'm starting to think going in spring would be awesome too. Those weeping cherry trees really caught my eye.
Oh wow, I was just watching a video you did with play noggin in 2017 and as soon as it was over I saw this new video. Are you spying on me? Reina is 42 jokes still going strong all the way in Japan
YES I am so happy you said they are only a third bloomed. I have been seeing sakura pics on my insta for a long time now and was getting super sad that I won't see them when I show up next week. Thank you for giving me hope!!! Thanks Reina Sensei!!
This is when I want to go to Japan for sure!! ... Cherry blossom/cherry trees are my favourite plants in the world. I get married this May so next spring we want to go to Japan for our honeymoon to see the cherry blossom 🌸❤️
I really need to go to Japan to experience the blooming of the Cherry Blossoms during Sakura season!! 😄😁🌸💮🇯🇵🙌🏽 The ending literally reminded me of the Cherry Blossom episode of Sailor Moon!! 😛
Yhh i was surprised how cold it has been in Japan. Today I am flying out back to London and it's only started warming up two days ago. Still had s good time here😁
I'm in Japan right now for my second sakura season. I've really liked seeing them in Ueno and Yoyogi Parks in Tokyo. I'm in Kyoto right now and Chionin Temple has a special sakura night illumination event going on in their garden. It was really pretty. I've been really happy, though, because the sakura have been very bloomed everywhere we've gone. Except when we were in Nikko earlier this week. It was SO cold there and it snowed a little.
Love the video as always! The other day I found out that I got accepted for a job in Numazu, Shizuoka and My family (husband and 3 children) will be moving at the end of July. We were so amazed to hear that you mentioned the shrine! You're doing a wonderful job as always :)
I was on Tokyo around the 2nd last week of much so the sakura were still 三分咲き! But there were a few trees here and there that were bloomed! My favourite park was Inokashira Park ^^
I want to be that full of life and still have that passion when experiencing new things when I am in my 40's! Reina you are so beautiful! I am coming to Japan during sakura season in 2021 (gotta save the extra cash for higher prices during peak season)! Super excited to see cherry blossoms in real life and not just photos!
Melissa Bray I really appreciate your comment but I am not 40 years old... that is an awful joke from 5 years ago that has perpetuated and it honestly hurts my feelings.
I really want to go to Japan some time during cherry blossom season. I'm happy you got to go to Ibaraki. I spent most of my time there when I studied abroad. I spent a few days in Tokyo.
I live near Washington, DC. Japan gifted the city cherry blossom trees (sakura) back in 1912 and ours are currently in their peak bloom. My boyfriend and I went to view them (hanami) this past Wednesday. While we were there, he proposed to me!
There’s actually a cherry blossom festival in Washington DC. So if you want something close to the real thing and can’t travel far go to DC around March I’ve been once and it was beautiful
I'm new to your channel, and every video I've seen so far was well before I started following. It's Kool to see a new video, was wondering if you weren't doing anymore. It looks so incredible there, I'm hoping to go at sometime, maybe two years 🤞
@@reinascully I hope it is tears of laughter. I really like Cherry Blossoms I really want to see them. For part of my anime club I did one class meeting just over cherry blossoms. I love you enthusiasm in this video I can tell your super happy about seeing them! ☺
i’m hopefully gonna go this summer (they think my depression is too strong and might pull me ):) so i’ll unfortunately miss it but i really wanna see them cause i love pink!!!

Actually on my last day in Japan, where I have already done my Sakura viewing (Hanami - see, I paid attention) sooo thanks? I mean, you did your best as a 42yr old xD, plus I guess i can use this new information to sound smart to my friends back home haha
Apparently, 八分咲き is also called 満開(まんかい)... I was actually wondering about it during the video, because I always confused that vocab with 卍解(ばんかい), from Bleach. XD
Comment my age if you made it to the end of the video and saw the bonus footage courtesy of Norm, Joey, Paris, and Lior
Honestly my favorite 42 yr old youtuber
I don't know your real age, but you are probably in your 20s. No way you are 42.
They joke that you're 41 but I think you're really in your 30s, 32 maybe? You look amazing for any age honestly ;)

My favorite 32 yr old Japanese TH-camr! 😉😏🤞🏽
The cherry blossoms must be a treat. I've never seen them in real life.

When I went to Japan I arrived at the end of Sakura season and I only got to see them at night! It was really pretty!
私もアメリカにいて、何年も桜を見てないのでTH-camで桜を見てます😭
日本語の言葉を英語で説明するのが得意ではないので、れいなさんの動画はすごく参考になります!
それと桜色の服似合ってます🌸
I’m actually in Japan from April 2 to April 13 :D so far I loved Ueno Park even though it was a bit crowded and the Sakura were beautiful there too
I have learned A LOT thank you. I have not been there in spring, but will need make a visit during that time.

I'd say that emails are like internet letters; they're longer than memos and you gotta write out an address and an opener and a sign-off
10:04 Wait... is that an instrumental cover of "Go the Distance" from Hercules? o_O
God damn. That hair, girl.

I going on a hanami tour on sunday :D
声も顔もすべて大好きです!
Who love her , come with me guys❤
How come you use katakana for the different tree names instead of hiragana? :o
助けてくれて、ありがとうございます!
Sumza some of them are known more commonly by their katakana name- flowers are often the case

Apparently, 八分咲き is also called 満開(まんかい)... I was actually wondering about it during the video, because I always confused that vocab with 卍解(ばんかい), from Bleach. XD
Oh, actually, anything above 80% is can be called 満開。 The source is hirosakipark.jp/florescent.
Its been ages ... i havent seen ur recommendation pop up in my home page youtube 😓
I bet Norm feels a little betrayed that you totally parried his built in transitions at the end.
😱 (Gasp) It's Akidearest & Joey!
One of these days, I'll go to Japan. One of these days...
