Pastor, have you found that you’ve been able to progress to a point of being able to fix your mind on Kingdom things more sharply while in prayer? I get discouraged when my mind wonders while praying in the Spirit. I know that Paul says his mind is unfruitful…..but I would really like to be more focused on the Lord in my mind while praying
Ps John explained this very well: we are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body. As far as our spirit is concerned, we are crucified with Christ, and therefore, our spirit is perfect. However, our soul and body are not; they remain subject to the negative influences of the five senses, which act as hindrances to our divine calling. He exhorted us from Romans 12 to present our bodies as a living sacrifice by praying in the Spirit. This daily discipline of praying in the Spirit and meditating on the Word of God helps us stay in tune with His plans, purposes, and destiny for our lives. We cannot achieve this in our flesh. Ps John concluded by sharing Philippians 2:13 from the Amplified Classic (AMPC) version. He spoke from his heart, and from his own experiences.
Rom 8:13 says "by the Spirit, if you put to death the deeds of the body you shall live." The point here is "by the Spirit" and praying in tongues is one of the powerful ways to strengthen your spirit to overcome your flesh desires. How do I pray in the Spirit?
Does praying in tongues have to be an hour or longer at one time or can it be done throughout the day, like during driving or while washing dishes?
