    When I was a kid, my mom often played this song on the piano. My sister and I called it “The Mouse And Elephant Song” because of how the dynamics constantly switched from pianissimo to fortissimo. We thought it sounded like, well, mice and elephants. We would take out our toy mice and stuffed elephants and make them “dance” to it. When my mom got to the part at 2:00, she would stop playing and say, “Famous mouse solo.” Then I would make the mouse “dance” from 2:01-2:19.

      What a beautiful, sweet story! I love it, & thank you so much for sharing it with me. I'll have to be careful next time I play it, to try to capture the essence of those toys.

      Many thanks Nicolas - I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It was my encore immediately after playing the Hammerklavier!

      @@gilsullivan2900 please, could you give me a link to listen the Hammerklavier you played ? To be very honest with you, it is the most beautiful interpretation I have heard of the VI Ecossaises, WoO 83 on internet. Well, it's true, the one by Yevgeny Igorevich Kissin is also extraordinary.
      I'm following you.
      Thank you!

      Hi Nicolas, I'm sorry, but I am not happy with my performance of the Hammerklavier from the same evening of this video. My other performances of the Hammerklavier from that concert tour, which included China, Taiwan, Japan, other cities in Germany, & Paris, were all much better, but not recorded! I am extremely sorry about this, as I also would loved to have a recording of my interpretation of this divine monster. I did receive a couple of fabulous reviews from Germany, but that's life as a performer. If you go to my website, you will see a "Music Store" where you can purchase recordings of mine, most of which are live performances & broadcasts over the past 35 years. If you've enjoyed this performance of the 6 Ecossaises, I'm sure you'll enjoy my other recordings on my music store. Thanks again Nicolas. Gil @@nicolassauze6503

    ベートーヴェンのエコセーズ(変ホ長調)は好きです。
    中でも、此曲ねやフィナーレ(2:18)の再現部から最期の分散しながら、エンドは最下の変ホ音で力強く終わる箇所が大好きなんです。

      Fantastic! It's such great fun to play. Make sure you colour each number; don't play them all the same, as so many pianists do.

      @@gilsullivan2900what do you mean by colour each number?

    • @gilsullivan2900
      @gilsullivan2900  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@katttttt I mean to give each number a different character rather than play the whole piece with the same character/mood/feeling. Also, colour is also about changing the sound of every single harmony. This is so important in music, but very few musicians do this.
