My most recent Peace Dollar purchase was another 1928-P and it is absolutely immaculately beautiful… I couldn’t be happier.

I’m old. I recall getting peace dollars from dollar slots in Vegas. Usually Ike’s, but a few peace dollars.

Very good score on the Binion, no matter how much under $85 it was. That pedigree is getting more popular.

I also like the Peace Dollar. I got 28 pieces 1922-1926 in the pawnshop here in my town in Germany this morning for 590€ which is equivalent to 21.07€ per coin. I think that's a great price. In the coin shop in my town they cost a lot more 29 -32€ per piece depending on condition

@SpegTacular: I have maybe 15-20 of these, all common dates and in pretty good shape. I like them but you pay a premium for them just like the Morgan dollar. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.

Hard for me to pick a winner between the Morgans and The Peace Dollars...Morgans Great design and makes me think of the Old West and the Peace classic art deco Look. Love them Both!😊

Yeah, I'm in the same position, with 200+ Peace dollars of various years. I usually give away 100 year old Silver coins to my friends and family members at Christmas. For the past several years, I've been buying my Christmas gifts early, in order to avoid paying higher prices at a later date. So I've been buying 1927, 28, 34, and 35 Peace dollars in AU condition. I'm getting close to being finished, but with the lower mintage dates costing over $100 per coin, it's taking a bit of time. Once I finish with the 1935 Peace dollars, I'm going to switch back to 1886, 87, 88, 89, and 90 Morgan dollars and just start giving away 150 year old coins instead of 100. I usually give them a current date ASE at the same time. I figure that we're all better off to possess some level of stored purchasing power, and if they can sell their coins for an even higher price than the melt price of Silver, it's an even better value proposition. You have a great collection. If you are able to pass this collection off to your family, your wife and children will benefit massively from the decisions you're making today. Great stuff!

The shop here in California that I patronize seems to always have a good amount of Peace Dollars on hand. Just the other day I purchased a beautiful 1926-S in MS out of there bin of common dates. It’s definitely fun looking for the nicer ones and better dates!

  • @davidwest6019

I’ve purchased about 500 1921 peace dollars this year for around $80k, they are my favorites and I currently have, other than really rare antique finish proofs, a complete set for 1921 (all VAMs, matte proof, etc). Moving on to errors now.
As you might imagine, they are my favorite US coin.
But I have no delusions of “cornering” the market. I don’t think it is possible for any modern coin minted above 100,000. Lot of numismatists throw out “30% survival rate”, but it’s never been verified and even then that is 300,000 1921s out there. That’s a lot of coins. If the avg 1921 is $500, it’s like $150 million market just in 1921s, and it’s not like stocks where a billionaire can just swoop in a buy them all. There are always going to be collectors out there that won’t sell.
And lastly, peace dollars did already have a huge spike in worth after the 2021 100 year reissue. A MS64 1921 went from around $1000 pre 2021 to $2000+ after 2021. So when I hear people talking about “when will peace dollar values explode” they already have, but it’s the key dates as usual. So many BU 1922s exist I have a hard time seeing their worth go up much without an explosion in silver prices

Nice collection of the Peace Dollars. It's also one of my favorites to collect and stack. I picked up 15 of them throughout the year. Only need a couple of dates to complete my set. Best deal of the year picked up 5 1922 and 1923 dated coins for $110.00 and free shipping. Very happy with that pick up.
Looking forward to 1924 and more Peace Dollars.

It seems to me that the Peace dollar was the "working" dollar of US silver dollars. Morgans seem to have sat in bags or bank vaults, and the earlier dollars were just so few and far between that most people probably never even saw one, let alone spent one.

I managed to do pretty good in 2023, I got and completed a Goal of my own, I now have a set of Spegtacular the Silver Stackular Signature Collection Rounds that I had been drooling over for 2 years!!!!! I also got My very first and only 1922 Peace Dollar which will be most likely my last one of those as it doesn't catch my eye very well because I really don't care for them just not a major want for me. I also got a Tuvalu Rising Sun Black Flag Silver round that has a amazing Ship on it that I purchased from Spegtacular with the Signature rounds, got some other tid bit Silver to try My luck at melting down and create something of My own. I've read a lot and watched a lot of videos and articles about how to do it which won't be for a while because I have to put together the proper equipment to do it. That's it other than getting some collectible coins I wanted for My collection. I owe a lot of Thanks to Spegtacular for the encouragement to collect. The educational material from Speg and Coin Guy has been a tremendous asset to Me. Thank You Both for All that You both do for the coin Community!!!! Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!!!

missing a shoe box myself my dad said you need a moving company to rob me. even if theres 200,000 1928 dollars yes a good condition one would be rare. but to pay $300 for 1928 Peace Dollar AU. when Movie & Licensed coins have a mintage of 15,000 for $30 $40. if you get it close to spot price thats cool. theres modern $1 coins with some of those mintages. i buy Franklin Mint ss under spot 15,000 mintage i cant see how you going to corner that market. plus with quantum computers, AI, space X. that stuff might be worthless in 20 years. i got a lot of silver myself id be lying if id say the time to sell aint coming. people say gold stood the test of time 5000 years but the last 50-100 years might have had more Technology then the million years before it. i bought a light sconce 4 years ago only had one of two i been looking on internet basically the whole 4 years, just found the match and bought it under $50. same time period as those Peace Dollars. i could be wrong I was looking at some content on the internet, they were filming at the Nasdaq, i could see out the window. i said thats funny i hang out in front of the ameican flag outside, in times square.
