In Kerala , many institutes claiming that they are conducting SAP courses, unfortunately all are on SAP - Business One ( which is like an auto rickshaw comparing with a Rolls Royce car (SAP ECC or S4 HANA) or non recognized in house certifications (no value at all) . These people are cheating SAP aspirants. We have both technical side and functional side in SAP . For functional side learning, better you have a functional knowledge like ( Sales, Accounting, inventory Management, H.R, etc). It is that functional knowledge helps you to visualize the business scenarios. (Accounting means you have to know up to Final Accounts - Here we can argue that functional knowledge is not mandatory, and may project once in a blue moon cases). Technical side we have ABAP (programming ) , BASIS ( like system/security admin ), PI/XI ( integration - java will help you). So please think and take the right decision.
