    We are in total agreement!
It does seem they BGA decided to tackle a small problem with a bazooka, and now there are shrapnel flying everywhere
Even when we don't chose our opponents, like in Arena, we can still be affected by this measure, despite beeing out of our hands who we are matched-up against
They could have thought about the implications of this measure a *bit* better, for sure

I fully agree with you, this change for victories in a raw is a true nightmare. When I open tables, this is often same players taking them, so, I will need to finish by blacklist them after 5 or 6 victories because who will accept a risk to loose elo without any chance to win elo?

Exactly. ELO is often the one and only thing that differentiates all-time games from regular friendly games with no risk whatsoever

Elo decay is fine, I feel like the consecutive wins things can be implemented better by doing it based on the percentage of the last X games played versus that player.

Honestly doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. This way even using multiple accounts to farm ELO points with would not yield much progress. And to me it sounds like that is the root issue BGA was looking to tackle with the changes in the first place

To ellaborate, what I mean is consider for example the last 40 games or so of a player A, and penalize the elo change against player B based on the percentage of those 40 games that were played against player B. This way if you beat someone 10 times in a row, but say over the course of 2 years then that wouldn't result in any elo loss

@@nallerheim Yeah, this way BGA doesn't really have to make a concession either

Good points Otto. What could be an easy solution that is applicable to all games? E.g. keep the existing rules for anyone except for the top-X% of players above 100 ELO?

I don't think different rules for some amount of players makes much sense. There was an idea in the comment section which suggested adding a multiplier factor which takes into account the number of games won/played against the current opponent out of the most recent X amount of total games. I find that to be a rather good solution. I can't say whether that would work for all games across the platform though
